Spirit Taming

Chapter 661: Breaking Out

Chapter 661: Breaking Out

"Maria, I heard you needed more herbs? I thought you had gotten everything you needed to make salves and try to make some low class health positions before?" Isa was pushing her way in to one of the alchemy labs set up on the academy grounds.

The main building had been damaged and it wasn't safe to go inside, so, a few students and faculty with the right amount of delicacy had gone in to grab the equipment. It also helped that some research labs had enough other equipment to make a few sets of outdoor alchemy labs.

"I just thought that you would-" Isa froze when she saw what Maria was up to. "Should I go get Clark!? He is going to want to see this!"

"No, just let him keep working. He is helping everyone and I will only distract him." Maria shushed Isa and slowly placed the cocoon on the ground. It was surrounded by fire, water, and spiritual energy crystals.

Maria had gathered them but forgotten some important herbs. And by forgotten, she had just used that word as an excuse. In reality, she had been unable to carry everything she wanted in her arms. In her focus, she had completely forgotten the spatial ring on her finger. But everyone gets hyper focused like that at times.

"But when did it start hatching from the cocoon? Shouldn't you have gotten everyone? This is a big deal!" Isa's excitement was getting greater and greater as she watched strands of the silk that wrapped the cocoon dissolve and absorb in to the cocoon. It was an odd sight that definitely was related to the unique energies that had come together.

The unique materials that had been gained from the butterfly paradise had caused the cocoon to absorb much more energy. It had sped up the growth of the jade worm within toward a new and unique beast that was better than the jade moth and all the analysis that Clark had done before.

As the process of hatching out grew more and more, Maria only smiled wider. "They can see my new partner later. But they are working hard and I won't stop that." Maria was steadfast in her reasons for not interrupting everyone. Naturally, Isa was not going to miss what she had just walked up to. A few other people nearby even stopped noticing the changes in energy here.

As the threads broke away, a slightly solid shell appeared. This was the protective shell that every cocoon had within it to some degree. Whether butterfly or moth, some layer protecting them deep within the silk would be formed. Some just had a shell without any silk outside. But that was rare too.

In a flash of flames, the shell broke which brought a heat that was definitely unique. More so because it didn't feel like it was burning the skin but the very essence around them. Maria felt it flowing through her bind as well with the beasts hatching out and flapping brilliant red and blue wings.

The spiritual energy pulled through the air toward those wings were channeled back in to the body of the large cart wheel sized body of the moth. Its own colors matching the wings with fur that zig zagged with red and blue until it came to dual colored eyes of the very same.

From what Maria could sense, the unique fire energy and water energy were kept together by the spiritual energies. It acted as a glue that allows a fluid transfer between the two. Allowing them to work together within the beasts as a whole.

Isa could sense that fire and water energies were nothing that she or her beasts could control. The fire energy was different due to the spiritual energy influence. It was more mysterious. More ethereal in a way. The same for the water energy.

Isa knew she could sense and understand water energies because it was deeply related to ice energy. Not that she could control water instead of ice. But because the water energy that she sensed was somewhat immaterial compared to the water energy she had felt before, she was at a loss.

The moth started to flap slowly to Maria and landed right in front of her. Its eyes fully focused on her as the flames on its wings died down and small droplets of water fell from them. It was an oddly beautiful sight that many people wondered how could be possible. But Maria could feel the warm and fluid energy that was now shared between them.

She could feel that her new partner was very glad that she had taken very good care of it.

"You lost your jade color but you grew so well. But I need to ask you for your help here. We have to make potions to help everyone. I did all the theory work and have the instructions. Are you up for it?" Maria heard a soft whine that came from her newly grown partner.

All the energies that it had absorbed while transforming within the cocoon had paid off. Now, the moth is brimming with energies and the desire to help. All the time it had been growing, it was not unconscious. It had heard the words spoken. Sensing the feelings. It had grown the desire to help heal as many people a possible.

What it lacked in battle potential, it had ten times more in the ability for alchemy.

"Well, that is just amazing." Isa was stumped. She had never seen a beautiful moth like this. She had seen what the jade moth should look like before in books. But this was a species that had greatly stepped away from the normal for jade moths. She even believed it would never be called a jade moth because of how unique it was.

If Clark had been there, the analysis would have read very unique as well.

'Twin spirit moth- ultra rare

This is a new species born from a mutated jade moth which was lucky to survive. Upon being given the ideal energies it needed, it grew in to a cocoon much earlier than it would normally have. Then on top of this, it was able to absorb and be completely supported by various fire, water, and spiritual energies within the cocoon.

Due to a very unique material being added while in the cocoon, the spiritual energy was able to cause a vast alteration to the fire and water affinities that this beast had. It can not use spiritual water and spiritual fire.

The spiritual fire is ideal for alchemy but can not cause harm to physical bodies. It can cause damage to the spiritual essence of the soul of a being. The very same can be said for water, but it is better suited to healing the spiritual essence or soul of a being.

Due to its delicate body, it is very susceptible to physical attacks, but it is able to manipulate and use herbs to heal itself and others much better. It is easily considered one of the best alchemical beasts born in this century.

While it does not have the ability to grow in to any other form or beast in the future, it can definitely become a better versed alchemical partner. Even creating some potions by itself in the future due to its incredibly unique forms of energy manipulation skills…'

This would have made Clark wonder just how amazing the care from Maria and the unique materials had been. Not that he didn't already understand that. Regardless, none of this was known to Maria or Isa who were preparing herbs and potion materials right now.

It was a very short time before Maria finally began to put all the studying and researching she had done while on the move in to practice. Her new partner, the twin spirit moth was already hard at work. Their bond stronger due to the care Maria showed it at all times as they traveled. Working like they had been together for years instead of months.

Many of the other professors and students that witnessed the voracious pace that Maria worked with incredibly adaptive learning were enlightened. This was the same way that Ella had worked when it came to her finally understanding how her own wisps could grow. All the hard work researching and learning had piled up waiting for the right time to show itself off.

"Listen up, If you are free to watch, you are free to bring more materials. Before we have to worry about sending potions and healers to the front lines, we are going to make these potions. Get to it!" Isa began directing those who stood in awe or those that needed a job. She would not let anyone rest while they had so much to do.

All of this work and business allowed the hours to pass as many more gathered. More of the students and families nearby that wished to stand together with the Mane family faction had begun to pour in. The time was near for everything to become final. To make the last move.
