Chapter 559: Treant Gift

'Chain quest, Wilderness survival (second Link)

Requirement: build multiple tools that will be used as your every day tools. Ensure that they have multiple uses.

Reward: survival gotcha ticket, slight improvement to analysis based on survival aspects.'

Clark saw the second chain quest that had to do with survival. He was very glad that he could easily use it since this would be a very good reward.

The reward of the survival ticket would give him a new survival skill that would be very helpful regardless of what it was. However, the reward that really made him excited was the improvement to the analysis of the system. The survival based aspect would allow him to better be able to understand things in his current situation.

That was just a basic positive though. The fact that the analysis was still able to be improved spoke many more volumes. This meant that there was more hidden information that he was still trying to figure out. Therefore, he would be able to learn more in the future and potentially find materials or even beasts that had better chances to assist in his survival.

Unfortunately, this was not the time for him to think about these things. After managing to catch their breath, Ralph and Clark found themselves face to face with the elder treant looming over them while burying its roots deeper.

There was an odd feeling in the air. The little wood fairies had stopped moving and were intently focused on the elder treant as it got comfortable again. But the odd feeling slowly gave away to a joyful air. The entire forest seemed to shiver as more water than before hit the roots of the many trees along the underground river that flowed from the dungeon and the natural water.

The dungeon was now adding even more water than before but at no detriment to anything.

The elder treant was able to flex roots that had been solid for a long time which also made it very happy. This was a good way for it to readjust the position it would be slumbering in for the next hundred years or even longer.

When Clark saw one of the branches bending down, everyone became a little worried. They didn't expect any danger, but this was an older beast that could easily attack them with multiple beasts at its command.

However, when Clark saw the leaves on the treant's branch separating and showing off a large perfectly red apple, he was amazed. He had never seen a perfect fruit like this. It didn't have a single blemish to speak of. There was even a delightful scent of fresh apple emanating from it.

'Treant's treasure apple- legendary

Rarely, a treant can create the perfect apple. This is different from any fruit in the world. A treant can absorb unique energy that is beneficial to any beast or person. It has the uniqueness of lacking a specific type of energy but instead balancing all natural energies that a plant would absorb.

This energy is concentrated in to pure nutrients that can uniquely affect the body of the one consuming it. Multiple effects are possible for those that ingest and properly absorb these natural energies.

Improvement in overall physical fitness, physique, and energy flow. Clever mental prowess. Enhanced understanding of natural energy within the body. Increased spiritual connections with tamed beasts. Purification of bodily impurities. There are other notable potential benefits, but just consuming one slice of this apple is ideal for anyone that wishes to become better and stronger in the future.'

This was astounding. The elder treant dropped the apple in to Clark and Ralph's hands. They both looked at it with awe. Even Ralph knew that this was an amazing item to have even seen let alone hold.

"Thank you very much for this gift, we will use it well." Clark was very clear in thanking the elder treant which returned to how it had been slumbering earlier. But when the wood farries saw that it had rewarded them and that the elder treant would be returning to its slumber, they rushed and danced around the group in the air.

They had understood that the pair had managed to succeed in helping the forest enough that it would not be suffering any more due to the lack of water. They could even sense that the trees they called home had begun to bounce back immensely. It was just more proof that they would always be welcome to travel through the forest with the forest itself welcoming them.

As the elder treant settled in and returned to slumber, the group realized that a lot more time had passed than they had realized. This area of trees blocked enough light out that they had not caught the setting sun in time. They had to set up camp whether they liked it or not. Journaling around the forest at night was a foolish idea. Not to mention, they were in an ideal safe spot to camp right now.

So why would they not set up camp here?

"We can set up camp. It's best that we don't move away from this area. The wood fairies might be small and cute, but they are strong enough to ensure that the elder treant is not bothered at all." Clark looked at the little wood fairies that giggled when he said they were cute. They were definitely intelligent enough to be able to understand him and his intentions.

One of the little wood fairies made a gesture towards the treant treasure apple. It wanted them to eat it sooner than later. It knew of the dangers of bringing something so amazing and valuable. They also could sense the energies within it and understood that this gift should be used by the young humans they saw right before them.

"Everyone is also going to get a slice of this apple. It's called a treant treasure apple. It is very good for your body and soul. It is basically something that the strongest city lords would give up their children for. So thank the forest and the elder treant for this gift before you eat it."

Hearing that Clark valued it so much made everyone understand the gravity of the situation. If they left this forest and got near anyone with a brain or even an idea of what valuable materials were, then they would be in a fight over this.

When Jerold pulled his dagger and cut it, the juice and fragrance made all of them water at the mouth. No one doubted what Clark said and after seeing and smelling it, they knew this apple was spectacular. The seeds were large and there were only four, but they were clearly holding their own energy.

'Treant seed egg - rare

This seed is the same as an egg. For a plant beast like a treant, they have seeds that act as their eggs. If the environment is proper and they are planted within a forest, then they have a very high chance of growing in to a sapling within a single hour. From there, the forest will naturally begin feeding it nutrients based on the fact that it will grow in to a treant.

This can be bound as a beast, but is very hard to care for due to the high requirements needed to nourish it. It is better to allow the seed to grow in a forest and naturally develop. On top of this, the forest will grow much better as the treant develops. A single treant could lead to another mile of forest being born….'

Clark stopped reading the analysis because he was planning to plant all four of these on the edge of the forest before it turns in to a jungle. The violent jungle would have plenty of nutrients to help the forest grow while also allowing the treants to blossom faster.

When Clark bit in to the slice of apple, he felt a wave of relaxing energy enter his body. He breathed out and felt as if his entire body had lost a hidden weight. The sweet and pure flavor of the apple alone would put any farmer that specializes in fruit to shame.

They would feel that their entire life was wasted trying to make anything that was even a tenth as good in flavor and looks as this apple right here.

When Clark noticed that everyone was lost in the same feeling, he wondered what benefits they would gain. However, that would only show as their bodies absorbed the unique energies from the treant treasure apple. For now, he also wanted to take the time to enjoy the pleasant breeze and the kind wood fairies around them.

This was the ideal spot to camp, absorb the energies they received, and most importantly for Clark to look at the regards he had just gotten

Every single reward from the two quests would be a great benefit to him. He was very excited to see what the new gotcha survival tickets would get him. These skills were valuable!
