Spirit Taming

Chapter 560: Greater Rewards

Chapter 560: Greater Rewards

'The survival skill gotcha has started to spin'

Clark saw the wheel spinning. He was very interested to see what would pop up from this gotcha there were plenty of things that could show up, but the real question would be how useful they were. Each skill from the gotcha had already proven to be very useful for the situations he had been in.

'The survival skill, gut feeling, has been drawn.

Gut feeling- uncommon

This skill is ranked lower due to the basics of the skill. It is a basic skill that most tamers can learn just by living within the wilderness for longer times. However, it is a skill that will become imperative through every level of the tamers strength.

The gut feeling is the sixth sense of whether something is good or bad. Whether a situation is odd. If there is a bad feeling at all, it is a signal for the tamer to be on their toes.

While this may feel vague, such feelings are often ignored due to training or poor beliefs. Therefore, this skill will allow the tamer to better survive in the wilderness as a whole. It is a less practical and more overall useful skill.'

While this was not what Clark expected, he had a sudden feeling of comfort in the pit of his stomach. It was just enough for him to understand that this was the gut feeling skill activating. It was a unique skill that allowed him to understand the inherent value of something. The slight feeling of something being off or something being right.

This was a feeling that many people could learn without much issue on their own. But that took experience and a good sense of what people were like overall. Especially with the fact that this skill was a guaranteed skill. It meant that he wouldn't need to second guess himself. The system had given it to him, therefore, it would be reliable.

He had learned at least this out of all the things he had been learning from the system and his time growing.

This wasn't the only reward he had gotten though. He noticed that ten pure steel ingots had appeared within his spatial ring. They were the best steel one could buy or even create. While they would not be the ideal metal for everything, pure steel was without any impurities. Therefore, it was a very good forging material.

When Ralph saw it, Clark knew that he would be taking it and running with it. This would be ideal to forge multiple survival tools and even repair some of the things they already had. It would just be up to what Ralph could do with his skills and what they could manage within the wilderness.

The other forty metal ingots were all basic. Rough iron, poor copper ingots, and even one solid gold ingot. Otherwise, they were basic. They could be used but they were not of the same quality as the pure steel ingot that was more versatile for any blacksmith to use with their beasts and forging. However, these were materials that the group needed. Therefore, they were very valuable right now.

'The basic gotcha is being drawn…

Large water skin- common

This water skin will be perfectly sealed. It also is able to purify dirty water after it has sat for an hour. It is just the basics for anyone that is within the wilderness, traveling, or just on the go. It is highly recommended to store water within this instead of wooden water bottles.

Flint…

Steel knife….

Dried fruit….

Dried fruit….

Water crest herb- rare

The water crest herb is a water dwelling herb that can both be eaten after being cooked or it can be used within a basic healing potion. It is not able to add beneficial properties other than extending the shelf life of a healing potion. It can also be used as a basic burn covering while the healing medication is being used under it and on the burn itself. This will seal in moisture.

Dried fruit…

Large loaf of bread…

Small water skin…

Steel knife….'

This was the basic gotcha. Some useful items to help purify water and dried fruits. This was ideal for their situation and Clark silently thanked the system for changing things to fit what they might need. Especially with the water crest herb that he could give to Maria to make medicines, specifically healing potions, last more than a few days.

However, there was the main thing that he was waiting to be drawn. The unique talent skill was something he had not seen before. The system had not offered such a skill yet, but it made Clark think. What could this offer?

A talent was something to do with the level of learning. A talented person could learn whatever their specific talent was for, faster. Therefore, if Clark received an archery talent, the odds were that he would learn archery faster and be better at it naturally. So, that begged the question, what would his talent be?

'The talent skill gotcha is being drawn…'

The moment this wheel started to spin, Clark noticed that it was a completely gold gotcha wheel. It was different from the hidden gotcha and the unique gotchas, but this was definitely unique within its own rights. It was clearly showcasing what amazing things could be gained from this.

'The talent skill, slight of hand, has been gained!

Sleight of hand- rare

Sleight of hand has to do with dexterity. Many may see magicians, entertainers, or thieves using this skill. however, it is not just for specific professions or groups of people. It is useful everywhere in life that deals with the dexterity and usage of muscles within the body.

Sleight of hand is not just about the actions associated with hands. It can apply to the usage and control of all muscles within the body. It will allow them to be trained to be more swift, smooth, and controlled. It will allow judging power output to be more easily controlled.

Learning anything that uses muscles in the body will be slightly easier the more that the focus is on the controlled movements. The more training, the better.

This is also applicable to the skills that specifically deal with entire body movement. Footwork is an ideal example of something that can be learned faster and with a higher degree of understanding due to this talent. It is only limited by the user.'

Now this was interesting. Clark found that he had a new talent that would definitely allow him to improve all over the place. His spear wielding could be refined more than before since he would understand the movements of his body better.

When sparring, Clark would be able to better control the strength he used along with how his body moved. Therefore, he would learn more as he sparred with others. He would also be able to control the forces he used. It meant that he could use his stronger skills with less force. Vastly improving his ability to train them while also protecting his sparring partners.

Being able to understand his own body in this way would lead to leaps and bounds when it came to teaching things to others as well. Clark could understand the more minute movements when he used certain skills.

This was definitely not all though, Clark felt his mind racing. He could relearn skills and techniques all over again. By doing so, he might be able to sense the issues within his movements using the gut feeling skill, then adjust using the new talent he had. Nothing working together would lead to him growing by a lot more.

The refined movements and battle ability he would have could step him up to a new level battling against those that naturally have more training or talents than him. It was a mixture of things that came together at the right time and right place.

The group had come to the wilderness to train and adapt. They wanted to step well above what others their age were capable of. They wanted to be able to battle with the adults that spent more years than them. To fight the corrupted families that had stolen all materials and grown beasts to fight others.

"Hey Clark, can you help me out for a little bit?" Isa called out to Clark as they set up their camp. She looked like she had begun to take an inventory of their items for wilderness survival. She had the materials that he and the others had gathered while traveling, and it was clear that she wanted to know what they would do with them.

"We are going to make some of our own tools. We need to be able to do this so that we can easily survive on our own without any help. If we don't, it will be a massive hole in our learning." Clark explained this while looking at the many materials in front of him. He was ready to work on the next link of the chain quest.
