Chapter 557: Clear Waters

Chapter 557: Clear Waters

"You really just dragging me in to a dungeon that is all water. I thought you would be fine. But this is the fight to the death that you wanted?" Ralph was being a little too dramatic as he looked around at the dungeon.

"It's not like we are exploring it. There are beasts under the water and maybe a few in the sky. But they want to stay here. This is one of the few places that we don't have to hunt down. It's even better than dungeons left behind by tamers when they pass away."Clark's thoughts were amazingly focused on the roots of the treant.

"Look at these, there is a lot of build up here. The water that flowed out carries plenty of minerals that have taken the roots and door as a home. This is why we can't open it any more." Clark was looking at the door fo the dungeon. Something that should eb too hard to mess with, yet here they were, messing with it.

'Mineral deposits- rare

The mineral deposits that have slowly gathered are a mix of different earth and metal energies. They are unique to this dungeon and normally produced by the beasts within. The waters that leave this behind have been doing so for many years. Breaking them is nearly impossible without the right kind of strength.'

"I think this might be harder than we thought." Clark wanted to have Crim come out and try to break it. But he had already used a lot of dragon energy burning up parasites recently. It would be cruel to keep draining Crim of the energy he was trying to save up to keep growing. Especially since growing was the main goal right now.

"Shouldn't I be able to deal with it? I can already feel the metal energies in that mess of, whatever it is." It was only natural that Ralph would sense the energies within the mineral deposits. However, he had no idea how strong they were.

"Just don't hit it yet. If we get ahead of ourselves-" Clark flinched as Ralph used his forging to slam down on the minerals. "We would attract beasts that don't want us to close this since the water would overflow and most likely make one giant lake. The water has flowed for years. They like the way it is."

While Clark's warning appeared to have been too slow, it was enough for Ralph to realize the instant ,mistake. It was also enough to wake up a few beasts in the water. Their peaceful life might be threatened. The stronger and older beasts within this shimmering lakes dungeon would definitely know that they had to maintain the state of the dungeon as it was or else things would crumble.

Knowing the source of food was the opened gate of the dungeon, they would definitely protect it. The small fish beasts that came in were always the best meals they could have without fighting fellow dungeon beasts. This unique ecosystem had existed for long enough that if it was gone, the dungeon would most likely lose itself. Collapse, or just go wild.

Bubbling waters showed off the strength of beasts within. But when a large fish elapsed through the air, Ralph recognized the large spines with thin membranes on it. The very replica of what many people could call wings or a gliding ability.

'Flying fish-n uncommon

The flying fish is a wind and water type beast. It uses its large fins as gliding wings to be able to travel out of the water and escape or hunt. They will often act aggressive if they feel they are threatened. However, they will normally leave larger beasts alone and even use them as shelter at times.

They have the potential to become a sailfish if they are able to live long enough and take in unique forms of water and wind energies being mixed together. They are surprisingly delicate when it comes to their muscles making them an ideal food for feline beasts. But they can also be eaten by humans without any issue…'

There was more information, but Clark had already pulled the black lightning spear out and slashed it down on the three flying fish that had leaped from the water to attack them. "Really Ralph, listen next time. We have to find some rocks or something that formed in this dungeon. They should be tougher than the minerals leaching out of them. That was we can break the mineral deposits."

Ralph looked at the clear water and saw that there were large round stones. The smaller ones were near the shore but the larger ones were deeper. However, that meant that they would be risking going in to the water so that they could get this as a tool.

"Yeah, I know, it would have been better to sneak in. let's deal with this. Shy, try and stop any small beasts from bothering us while we swim." Clark brandished the black lightning spear while stripping down to just his light clothes. They would be the only thing he could wear. The heavier light armor would just weigh him down as he tried to swim back up with a stone.

"Ralph, be ready to use this when I get up. Also, protect Shy while she sends shadow threads in to the water. This is actually a good place for her to fight." The reason this was ideal for Shy were the many shadows under the many little stones.

This place was an ideal place for the shadow threads to easily move around. They would be able to move under and around the stones because of the shadows. Then they could attach themselves to the smaller beasts within the water that dared to get near Clark. Because the beasts were in water, they would be easier for Shy to control as well.

The weight in the water of a beast was less than in the air. They were able to swim through the water, but that was fine. They would be forced to follow the will of Shy and she used the shadow threads to invade their shadows. She could also leave them alive since she didn't have to kill them. Not that she wouldn't collect the smaller flying fish as food to bring back.

She saw value in them the same way that Clark did.

Seeing Clark slide in to the water with barely a ripple, Ralph felt that he was left in an unknown world alone. One that was dangerous to him since his beasts were both metal and fire. However, he saw that Shy was stretching shadows threads in to the water and clearly attracting some attention. "Damn fish." Ralph used his ax to meet one of them, chopping its head off instantly.

Meanwhile, Clark could sense the shadow threads weaved around him like a net. Shy had always been training her skills. She never stopped. That was one reason why she was always on Clark's shoulder. She looked like a doll, but realistically, she was using the shadow threads attached to her and Clark's shadow to allow her better training. On top of that, this training had greatly paid off already.

Every flying fish that darted toward Clark with the goal to attack him since he was clearly here to attack their home was caught. The next thing that the flying fish knew, they were being moved by forces that they could not stop. They were using their fins to slice in to their fellow flying fish.

While this was a good thing since it stopped them from getting to Clark, it made the water murky and red. Their blood stopped Shy from having the clearest view. However, this was something that Clark expected. Fighting in water was a danger that no tamer wanted to handle. However, he knew how to swim and he had to get the rocks they needed.

The understandable theory that the minerals had to come from more than just the beast's bodies was there. Clark knew that the rocks sitting in any body of water would slowly be broken down. Eventually they became sand. That was how beaches were formed. But the minerals within them could dissolve and get placed elsewhere. The roots of the treant being an ideal place.

The rocks were definitely further down than what he realized through the clarity of the water was misleading. It was a clear water and a sloped side that made it harder to understand why he had to swim so deep. Clark could feel the hot pain in his lungs from the fact that he was going to run out of air if he did not try harder.

Just as he looked down again to spot a good rock to carry up with enough size to attack, he noticed other shapes that were not rocks. Rocks were rounded by the flow of water over time. But the jagged looking things that he saw latched on to some of the rocks were beasts that he had seen before. Beasts that could be eaten.

Beasts that could be seen as troublesome to many rivers because of the way that breed all over the place.
