Spirit Taming

Chapter 530: Cleaned Up

Chapter 530: Cleaned Up

Results were not as expected though. Clark had struck with the full force he was capable of in the weakest spot for any slime type beast. The magma shelled slime was completely taken by the sudden piercing force and the turbulent lighting energy from the black lighting spear.

Its body couldn't hold together without the core causing the semi translucent red magma body to violently splash apart. This caused a magma wave away from the core and exposed a very large portion of the volcano's mouth.

The lava that had been spilling over had been forced away. This had left the broken magma slime core able to be easily stored away by Clark in the brief time he had. But his eyes had focused on other things. The shiny gold flask had been revealed along with the ore shell fell right together without anything holding them in place.

Naturally, Clark rushed to store them as he felt the fire and earth energies around him becoming erratic. The force of his attack and the force of a powerful beast being defeated all at one in such an unstable place would have repercussions.

This wasn't the only thing though. Clark saw the broken volcanic fury crown. He had to destroy it since it was the reason that all the energies were even more unstable. If he didn't strike it next, then it was a surety that this place would be full of eruptions and the dungeon would close becoming his grave.

As this wasn't stress enough, he heard the added struggle of the older dwarves who had realized what had just happened. They had only realized that there was a beast trying to attack them when it was too late. That was how they had become trapped by the magma tentacles of the magma shell slime in the first place. They hadn't even noticed it blending in to the area that they had been forging!

The dwarves had managed to resist the sudden flow of lava, but escaping the hardened lava around them with their beasts was an issue. It was what Clark was still able to effortlessly sweep up the ores from the shell and the golden flask. He wanted to appraise the flash with the system's analysis, but he already knew it as the treasure he needed.

He had noticed the system react the second that he had snatched it.

Turning his body with Crim's wings giving him an added boost again, Clark slashed to the side directly at the broken volcanic fury crown. A few of the dwarves saw this and grimaced, but they had long realized the issues being caused right now.

When the black lightning spear hit the crown, the carved metal, earth, and gems vibrated. Clark had expected that he would be able to cut through it in its broken state. However, the dwarves forged it well.

"Crim, fly up in the air and let me fall for a minute. Use your dragon breath." Clark was opting for a risky attack. He couldn't resist the lava below so he had to have time.

With Crim's strength as of now, he knew that Crim was strong enough to fly high and quickly compared to how he used to be when it came to flying. Therefore, when Crim left Clark's body in his usual form, he easily flapped his wings and flew with much greater speed.

The limits that Crim had in the armor form were higher because of Clark's body and their growing adaptability to flying in such form together. But apart, Crim was free. This allowed him to release Clark and take in a very large breath.

As the dragon flames spewed out from Crim's maw, a more destructive aura radiated from him. This was the focused dragon energy that Crim had stored up for such an attack that he knew needed his absolute force.

Underestimating the strength of the dwarven creation, Clark saw that only a few cracks formed from the oppressive dragon breath Crim was capable of. That meant there was a lot of growth still for him and Crim to do. But as Crim used all his remaining energy to flap his wings and return to the armor form, catching Clark, Devi made a move too.

Since Devi knew what Clark wanted to do and had just managed to feast on a lot of the soul energy from a very powerful beast, he was in a much stronger state as well. Devi expanded his body to show of his current naturally form.

Invisibility wasn't necessary now, therefore, all the dwarves' attention was drawn to the white figure with a deep dark abyss within it slashing down with a deathly claw attack.

The slash of dark claws tore through the broken volcanic fury crown. The results were a greater level of damage that the dwarves had not expected possible. But it was still not finished. Clark had flown down again and slashed with the black lighting spear. The tip of the spear directly cracked the gems that had remained intact.

A final result of this beautiful combination between beasts and tamer was easy to guess. A complete destruction of the broken crown of volcanic fury. The exact pieces kept shattering as the energies they had drawn in forced them to break down. This was the result of any failed forging piece. The energies would lose balance and the stability would fail.

This breakdown would ruin the materials and often make the piece just a hunk of useless material. Rarely a material could be reused for anything of higher quality.

Looking down, Walker felt that the energies seemed to ripple a little. It was an odd feeling. Like he had been right on the edge of a cliff about to fall off and now he had an extra foot of space to walk.

The area was far from calm, but the dangerous feeling that everyone would fall apart had faded. The system had also recognized that things were finished. But Clark couldn't analyze anything or read the response. He felt that Devi needed a rest to digest the energies he had gained and Crim was on his last legs even in his armor form protecting Clark.

"I am heading out. I am sorry for causing trouble but I had to keep this dungeon from breaking down faster. There should still be about a day left before it closes completely." the shout had some of Clark's energy pushed in to it so that all the dwarves heard him. Some showed confused expressions, others showed a little hatred.

But the first dwarf that Clark had met realized that he had met a human genius better than most dwarven geniuses he had ever seen. He wouldn't be forgetting Clark's face.

Before Crim lost the energy, Clark sped away and landed. As Crim returned to the taming space, Clark sensed that many of the beasts within this dungeon had begun rushing toward the exists. They were able to sense the inevitable loss of the dungeon they called home. Regardless of where the openings went, they needed to escape to save their lives.

This dungeon break would not be the average where powerful built up beasts appeared and attack. Instead, there were plenty of weaker beasts fleeing to survive. It meant that it was safer in the grand scheme of things. The odds were that the beasts that escaped wouldn't even bother the rest of the group awaiting Clark at the entrance.

"I really caused a lot of trouble this time." Clark sighed while he held the black lighting spear. He was impressed that the dwarf had been able to repair some worn parts even he hadn't noticed. But it also made Clark wish he and Ralph could repair all of their gear better. It was a tempering skill to learn. But he knew the system might offer him a little more at some point.

"Oh, that's a dragon welp." Clark saw what was easier to call a scaled lizard than a dragon welp. Ahead of him, it had crawled from the lava and was making its way towards the exit that Clark was heading to. It had been much easier making his way out than in since Clark knew exactly where he was headed rather than searching. But he still felt that a dragon welp escaping would be troublesome.

"Let's use dragon's majesty and intimidate it. Maybe we can bring it back and find a better home." Clark released some dragon energy from his body while wielding the black lighting spear. Naturally, the dragon welp sensed this immediately. Now Clark had a little battling to do before he got out. Enough to learn about keeping a wild beast in check.

Meanwhile, the rest of the group sensed the rumbling from the dungeon cease. They had a good feeling that Clark was on his way back and that they would be able to hear what had happened. Yet, Maria also had a sense that Clark was about to bring as little trouble with him too. It was just a developing sixth sense she was getting the more time she spent close to him.
