Chapter 529: Shell Of Ore
Chapter 529: Shell Of Ore
The next rumble caused more lava to flow from the mouth of the volcano. Clark saw the five dwarves that had been working on things doing their best with beasts to stop the lava and harden it, but they had clearly lost control of the situation.
"So they were forcing the energies in to that crown while forging it but they let it get out of hand." This was the answer that Clark came to. Especially the more that he looked at the building danger from the volcano that had clearly been held back. That could only mean that the pressure of eruption had been trapped for too long and would release all at once any moment now.
'Broken Crown of volcanic fury- unique
The experimentation used to create a crown that superseded the crown of magma that the dwarves use to help certain beasts grow to a higher level has failed. The energy requirements of the unique ranked crown of volcanic fury was made with poor materials causing it to break partially through forging.
The energy being absorbed by this item is forcing the deep fire and earth energies to react violently. The balance within the volcano had been thrown out of flow and will cause a massive eruption of every volcano within the hour.
This crown can no longer be used as a source of material or energy storage due to the broken state. However, it is still forcefully drawing in the energies of the volcanoes linked underground. This has drawn many other materials towards it from the depths of the magma flow beneath the earth which the crown is stealing energies from.
To end this, the crown must be destroyed before it causes the volcanoes to erupt. This will slow the eruption process by several hours.'
Clark understood that the dungeon would become a mess sooner than later if he didn't act. Therefore, he had to approach the magma that was flowing out of the volcano. But he still didn't forget the movements in the magma that he knew were a beast. He just couldn't get a clear look to use analysis. The only thing he could make out was the crown.
The broken crown of volcanic fury was forged out of ores that were anchored within the magma. This connection was enough to draw even more earth and fire energies from the volcano. But it was also the reason that the magma appeared to be swirling around the crown. Not that the magma and energies were the only things attracted to it.
The energies had drawn in a few familiar looking fire type beasts that Clark had ignored before. But when he saw that lava would shoot up and attack them to keep them away, Clark knew that it was the beast he had seen before that sent magma to trap the older dwarves.
The next rumble caused the magma to flow even faster but exposed a harder rocky shell. The spiked rocks were not just that. They had to be ores that could resist the heat. Or at least that was part of Clark's theory before he saw part of the body was literally made of magma.
'Magma shell slime- ultra rare
The magma shell slime is a magma slime that found tough ores and used them to hide. Over many years, it was able to absorb energies until it discovered the ability to use the earth and fire energies in tandem that made up its body. Upon learning this, it was able to alter its form.
The solid shell that it hides its core in is made from ores that can only form in magma. Its body is made of magma controlled by the energies it has claimed. Normally, this would make it invincible within magma.
Due to the high amounts of energy, it was attracted to the forging of a dwarven creation and is using it to potentially grow stronger and incorporate an unknown treasure in to its body. The attempt to grow is causing the entire dungeon to lose its ability to function since it can only contain beasts of a certain strength.
Due to this form of growth, the magma shell slime is extremely weak since it must disassemble its shell to allow the energies and treasures inn to its core. It is using its body to trap and deter any enemies that could steal what it needs to break free of the limits it is under and change form forcefully to a new form higher than its current species.'
"So it's trying to force itself to become more. I can't say I would be upset to hear that." Clark knew he was the same. He was striving to be stronger than anyone else as well. But he wasn't breaking dungeons and trapping people in magma to do it. He also wasn't about to use someone else's hard work to do it. He was working hard himself.
Yet, here Clark was. A beast he shouldn't be able to defeat since it was clearly one of the strongest beasts in the dungeon. "Devi, try and steal some energy away from it by biting its shell. Because of its type of beast, it makes the shell part of it. That means you can steal away soul energies from it." Clark's gamble was starting.
"Crim, when it's weakened a little as it tries to absorb whatever treasures it pulled with it and that broken crown, we will attack the core of that slime. Then we will shatter that crown so that it stops gathering the energies like crazy." Clark made sure his beasts knew the plan.
Even though it sounded simple, it was nothing of the sort. The shouts from the dwarves struggling against the magma flow proved that. They were all stranger than Clark except for the fifteen he had left behind lower on the mountain. Not that it would be stopping him from making a move.
Another rumble shook the mountain as the magma shell slime sent a large wave of lava up and over the edge. This forced the adult dwarves to retreat with their beasts and even other beasts attracted to the fire energies back where they came from. The domineering force of a powerful beast was enough to make them rethink their attempts to steal anything. But not Clark's thoughts.
A smaller set of rumbling happened as the shell seemed to separate in to multiple pieces and float over a large magma body. Tentacles of magma moved to hold them before a shiver went through the entire magma body. Clark knew that was Devi biting the beast and drawing away soul energies from it. Enough to cause the beast discomfort.
Luckily for Devi, the beast in question was one that expected pain. To it, this feeling of weakness was from the attacks it sent out and the struggle to draw so much energy toward itself. Its struggle to force powerful items in to its body and closer to the core.
The broken volcanic fury crown fell off its stone pedestal and made its way through the lava toward where the core should be. It was an invitation to Clark who knew that even with the power of this beast, that its core was the extreme weak point.
What stopped Clark's immediate action though, was the shimmering item that he couldn't make out. It was clearly gold and resisted the magma perfectly. Whatever was tough enough to do that must be valuable. "Then I would say that's the treasure. And I bet that slime has been trying to use it for way too long."
For Clark, it was simple to see that this beast had hidden and grown slowly in the deepest magma it could. Well beneath the ground is its own natural environment. Naturally, it had found whatever had fallen in the magma seemingly lost to time. But with that, it had managed to get stronger. And vague of the very same item, it was allowing itself to show its belly as it tried to grow again.
Not that it knew that Clark was looking right down at its weakness.
A mental message from Devi hit Clark and made him prepare to swoop down. Devi had spotted the core. It was a dense red and brown looking rock, but it was perfectly round which made it stand out within the flowing magma that appears semi translucent since it was what made up the magma shell slime.
Knowing that he had his target, Clark and Crim dove down. Crim had perfect control of his wings and took Clark with significant speed. Speed needed to put as much force behind the black lighting spear as possible.
Without realizing that the black lighting spear had long had enough energy for a powerful attack, Clark maintained his form. He was channeling all his energy within the flowing storm meditation technique. He also focused the lunar dragon spear technique in a downward movement that only a flying dragon would be able to pull off.
The sheer force of the spear would have barely done anything to the shell made of ores by the magma shell slime. But to the exposed weak point that every slime had? Well, the sound of erupting energy and violently flailing slime was all anyone needed to hear to know that someone had struck a deadly blow.
