Chapter 452: He Wakes
Chapter 452: He Wakes
"You want to leave already?" Maria was the first to react. She was so surprised that Clark was already pushing them that she dropped her notes on the table without even thinking about it. She had been completely focused on absorbing and taking notes on every possible thing that she could. especially when it came to how the body worked in most species of living being.
"We should strengthen ourselves more. Isa, Ella, you, and even I will have issues or already have issues. We have strengthened our beasts a lot and won't be able to handle it anymore. Crim had been gathering a lot of energy lately and will definitely be growing again." Clark looked a little sad that he had to tell Maria that they should head out from the healer's camp.
"It's a good idea though. If we head to Terra Academy we can fully focus on their body strengthening training. Clark also made friends with that guy who calls himself purple because of his beast. He would help us train." Isa knew that she would be unable to fuse with her winter witch until she did manage to adapt to the energies of a more unique and powerful beast like her.
It would just harm their highly developed bond if they were forced to hold back for so long.
"I find it logical as well. I have been stopped from using my beasts because I highly prepared them for growth. I was too focused on research and growth that I neglected my own training." Ella hesitated for a moment. She still wanted to be there for her brother who was still resting and had not even gotten up from bed. But it was clear that this was just what his body needed.
She knew how much he trained without proper rest, especially for the tournament before he had been injured. He was catching up on all of the rest he needed now.
"The energies we need to resist will be higher than we can handle. If we are constantly harming ourselves to protect each other then it only leads us to a single conclusion." Ella further made sure that everyone understood where she was going. That she was saying they would all be harmed.
"I managed to make a decent set of tools. They are the basics and anything that is more specialized we can buy. I know that Isa has a decent bank of gold coins saved up. She has been doing a lot of business here and there. Especially when in Nebula. Almost too much buying and selling while everyone else was busy.
Not to mention the bets. I didn't think you were a gambler but a merchant is a merchant and bets are money."
"What's Ralph saying?" Grace looked at Isa with a very surprised expression. It made Isa sigh loudly.
"I did place bets and stored away a lot of gold. Do you know how much I have to invest to get the materials we need when they might be rare? Especially when I needed to find information about other things. I will put that gold to use when we get to Terra, but don't think that I will hold back." Isa looked away.
She made it seem like she knew everything that she did but the rest of the group gave her some slightly dubious glances when they thought about her gambling with their group's gold. Not that they didn't trust her. It just seemed risky to play with it like that.
"I'm more curious about how Ralph knew it all and we missed it." Reese looked at Ralph wondering what was going through his head.
"That's off topic. The point is we have gold and that we can get more ores when we get to Terra City and academy. I will need ores, Reese, Ralph, and I have a feeling we will need improved armor? Light weight for me, and even lighter for the girls since they are all focused on speed. Ella might need ores that adapt to her specific beasts.
Too many things." Brad had focused on what his partner needed but he was sure that everyone would need something that had to do with ores.
Terra City was known for being mostly underground. Therefore, they had a massive trade when it came to metals, gems, and even more unique things only found under the ground. Especially the ruins dungeons and the ruins for the world itself. There were also many earth type beasts that the group could learn from. Especially Ella whose earth prince had a chance to develop a better earth body for itself.
"Oh yeah, I could use some better shoes. Something with metal wrapped in leather. Quiet but also tough enough." Jerold was a little more focused on how he was going to ask something to be made rather than the fact that the group had to get moving. He was fine with taking the time to leave sooner.
"It makes sense that we leave then. Lit already grew to her adult and final form. She's a true empress jellyfish now. She's shown off and the healers here have a lot more potential. We even got the four guards that came with us a nice job guarding the third floor entrance. They seemed pretty happy." Maria was a little downtrodden since she would prefer to stay and study more.
"I am sure that Pia will give you more books to take with you. I know you have already copied ten of them since you started. I swear, no one but Ella can write faster." Clark laughed a little but the entire group was more than stunned. They didn't realize that the books on the table were all copies that Maria had made for her own uses. Even Ella was a little shocked at the speed.
"I will ask for some diagrams too. I saw that they have some copies of them that the younger healers use. I also should see what they have for medicine making formulas that I can take with me. I asked around about beasts that could be good as alchemy partners but there were none that they keep here.
This camp makes less medicine than another might." Maria was mumbling to herself as she gathered her items so that she could head and ask for more things.
"Is Miss Ella here?" The sudden intervention in their conversation came from one of the assistants that the group had met when Leo had been healed. "Ah, your older brother has woken up. He is eating now and appears to be in good spirits. I told him I would get you."
"I will be right there. Clark, you're coming with me. I want you to explain to my brother what you did with his beast while I check his arm. I need to-"
"You've got it. I have that handled. Let's go." Clark saw the rest of the group give their thumbs up or smiles. He knew that they would prepare to leave by themselves while gathering what they could take with them. Clark just had to worry about Ella and her brother.
Making it back to the main resting area for the patients, Clark followed Ella inside. The bright and cheery look on Leo's face was the same attitude he had when Clark had first met him. However, this time his muscular frame was less intimidating since he was sitting in a bed.
"You look much better now that they healed your arm and you finally recuperated from all of your exhaustion." Ella was blunt but it was easy to see she was trying to hide her smile.
"Of course I did! These healers have been bugging me since I woke up a few hours ago. Five of them gave me a once over, two gave light healing to ensure that there were no blood clots, and another even came in and gave me a full physical check up before I was even allowed to sit up. These people are crazy good. But I think you have more you want to ask?" Leo was seeing right through them.
"That depends, do you want to hear about your beast's forceful mutation since it was that or you died? Or do you want to tell us if you are willing to join our side in this fight against the Mpourne family. To join us and snuff out corruption in Niva city as a whole so that people can stop dying for useless reason." Clark didn't hesitate.
Ella flinched a little, but her knuckles were white in anger since she hated that an entire family could go around causing so much trouble. Even her mother could barely hold the Mourne family general in check with her own allies by her side. The Green family was strong, but they were held back by the strength that the Mournes had.
"Well, I would rather start with my partner. It was pretty exciting to show off its new thorns." Ella brightened hearing Leo say this. Especially as he called his partner out from his taming space to show off its adapted and changed body.
