Spirit Taming

Chapter 436: Hiding Dangers

Chapter 436: Hiding Dangers

Since Maria and Isa had backed Ella up, she had managed to relax. She had been full of adrenalin as soon as she had felt the pushback from the mutated glowing cannibal jellyfish. It wasn't that she had forced herself and the earth prince too far on purpose. It was just that neither had realized the degree of energy they had used and the force it had put on Ella's body.

Clark was also well aware of the situation. It was the same thing that Isa was going to face when it came to her winter witch. The group was growing very fast. His analysis and their performance as of late had given them many chances. These chances had all been about materials. Therefore, they had suffered when it came to their own bodies.

That was why Clark took the lead when it came to the cour glowing cannibal jellyfish in front of him. His movement had been fast enough for them not to notice him over their distraction while eating. The fact that their fellow dead cannibal jellyfish were right in front of them was too tempting.

That left them perfectly open for Clark to pierce over and over with his full force. The speedy and accurate attacks were much easier since Clark had strengthened his mind. He found that his body responded to his desired movements much faster.

Every single reflex of his learned moves were swift. His eyes were better able to focus on the things he saw before him. His mind subconsciously picking up on weaknesses just from his enhanced mentality and general battle experiences. The analysis from the system was just a bonus since he knew the absolute weakest points now for his current enemy.

The group was small compared to what might be considered a swarm. However, the activity had definitely caused everything within the third floor to know what might be going on. The rush of fresh air was sending the scents of prey and food toward the depths of the third floor.

The slightest sounds in the sudden silence that the group heard were just enough to prove that every single beast had just heard what was happening.

It wasn't just the beasts that heard the commotion. The sudden shouts of healers coming from the first floor were getting louder as they ran toward the sounds of cracking stone and battle. They knew that this should be a safe place. Yet, they understood the sounds of battle and had to know what was wrong.

The beasts here had never attacked someone before so they were very on edge as they ran toward the group that they could see from the stairs.

When the healers saw the glowing red jellyfish bodies and the clear damage they had done to each other and the stones, they knew that something was very wrong. They could see that the shape of the glow sting jellyfish was off. The density of their tentacles didn't look like the flexible and soft healing tentacles but they were thicker and had a dangerous aura around them.

The same could be said for the unsettled spiritual energy all around the dark hole that was the sloped path to the third floor.

"You should all tell everyone to prepare for battle! There is a third floor and was sealed. We were harvesting bright blue bells and found it. But the beasts down there are cannibalistic and aggressive!" Clark shouted the warning to the healers he saw first. One of them immediately darted back toward the first floor without even blinking.

He understood the danger the moment he felt the differences in energies he was used to.

The other three healers that had run down pushed themselves to take positions right behind Clark and his group. "We can heal you but you need to retreat with us. These things are not the beasts that we know!" The healer that spoke was clearly younger and had not been in a real battle. But what he said would normally be the smartest move.

"We need more bright blue bells. We are going to push in and hold whatever is coming out here or deeper. Just stay here or get out. But make the best moves to stay alive." Maria made this hard order to the younger healer while the other two appeared less on edge than the youngest of them. They instead took stances and called out two glow sting jellyfish.

They had them hanging on their backs to preserve energy which was a smart move. But they also looked unwilling to follow Clark and his group to the third floor.

"We don't need healing, just be prepared. There are more than just cannibal jellyfish down there. Our leader usually has a good eye for these things so you should trust him." Isa followed Clark's movement deeper in to the third floor path. There were more sounds coming from the third floor but they couldn't see any red glow for the moment.

The two healers just looked at the path and at the bodies of the cannibal jellyfish wondering just what might be happening. But as soon as they managed to absorb the information, they were in movement. Just because they were healers didn't mean that they were useless. They knew how to prepare and set up a defensive line.

This was something they could do even though they were weaker and could not be the best of soldiers.

"The bright blue bell has grass all down the cave, but the buds aren't bloomed at all. There are a lot though." Maria noticed the herb everywhere. It had grown through the rocks slowly growing more and more toward the better growing environment. This had been why the healers let the herbs grow wild.

They would find the best places for them to grow consistently because they were already temperamental herbs that were not easy to grow in the first place. It was best to let nature do its thing.

"I really don't like the feeling down here." Isa was definitely more on edge as she followed Clark. The sudden absence of beasts in front of them was not something that the group liked. Especially since the spiritual glow worms were very far and in between. It made odd shadows here and there throughout the entire path. Luckily, they were able to move through to the third floor fairly quickly.

But that didn't mean they were ready to see what it looked like.

The third floor had been overtaken with unique herbs that the healers hadn't even realized moved down here through the cracks in the stacked stones. The air may not have been able to flow through, but there were plenty of spaces for the roots to move and that was all some herbs needed.

These herbs had come down to a place they could grow constantly without any harvesting at all aside from the beasts down here.

The glow sting jellyfish that the group could see were in battle with one another here and there while others had hidden themselves inside the bushier herbs. Those that glowed a light blue were the already satiated glowing cannibal jellyfish. Those that were red had been spurred to battle for food from the sudden changes.

It was as if there were traps waiting in the herbs and activated traps already on rampages.

However, Clark saw a darting glowing shape take to the air and tear a massive chunk out of the jellyfish far from them. The speed of the beast was much more than he could follow just out of the corner of his eye. However, he was already able to guess what it was. He was also able to pick out the spot it had gone to hide.

'Iridescent shark- ultra rare

The iridescent shark is a beast that primarily feeds on other spiritual beasts. While they rarely mutate, they are solitary beasts that can grow very powerful. Their level of strength causes their rarity to skyrocket making them one of the more powerful self healing beasts.

They have a lot of stored nutrients so that they only have to eat once a week. They also store large amounts of spiritual energy in their fins which allows them to swim through the air as if it was water. This also makes their fins an extremely rare and powerful spiritual material for certain beast's growth.

The iridescent shark has one of the rare spiritual attack skills called spirit jaws. It uses spiritual energy to strengthen their teeth and slice through things easily. This allows them to focus on agility while attacking instead of pure strength. This is also why the iridescent shark is considered a blitz attacker.

While they can live in solitary for a long time, their food can cause them to mutate in ways. This causes them to gain tougher skin, more aggressive attitudes, and in rare cases a sub species developing. It is very rare to see them take on a secondary or tertiary typing, but often the typing they take on is the dormant blood typing within their bodies naturally.'

The blue glow where the iridescent shark was hiding was enough for the group to understand that there could be a predator hiding to strike or a jellyfish waiting to ensnare them. The third floor was a dangerous battle ground of hidden dangers.
