Spirit Taming

Chapter 435: Spiritual Mutations

Chapter 435: Spiritual Mutations

"I think we should just go ask the others for what they might have on hand that they picked earlier today. This isn't the safest place to be right now." Clark's tone showed Maria, Isa, and Ella that he wasn't messing around anymore. But it was where his eyes were fixed that they began to worry about.

"What is that?" Isa calmly looked at the hole that Clark was staring down.

"We still need more of these. There won't be anyone with them. They only grow on this floor where there aren't any organized sections." Ella was stubborn. She knew what they needed for her brother. But when Isa saw that Clark had taken his black lightning spear out and wasn't paying them any attention, they knew that things were going to be rough.

"That… is the third floor of the dungeon. Apparently, these rocks are here for a reason." Clark bent his knees to take a battle stance. He could faintly see the flicker of lights in the darkness.

"So you're saying that whoever found this dungeon purposefully blocked it and then let the rumor be a rumor? No one would be strong enough to dig this up. It's all whalers." Isa dropped her last question and put the pieces together. The few rumors they had heard and their unsettled feelings made perfect sense.

They had been feeling their instincts warning them of danger since they went inside this dungeon.

"I don't feel like this is right, but there are no more bright blue bells here. If they grew down in to that floor then we might have to." Maria raised this potential even though it was clear that Clark was about to begin a fight right away.

"Yeah, we have to make it against those first." the crack of stone as a red tentacle arced out of the hole leading to the third floor of the glow sting dungeon made Clark strike out. The black lightning spear cut through the red tentacle causing the cracking sounds of stones to echo more.

'Glowing cannibal jellyfish- ultra rare

Having been sealed for generations, the glow sting jellyfish that have managed to survive without being eaten by other beasts on the third floor of the glow sting swarm dungeon have mutated. They ate themselves and each other using the spiritual energy to heal. Some mutated in to glow sting jellyfish that are primarily spiritual typing.

They go against the basic healing nature and have completely lost their poison typing. Therefore, they are able to heal themselves and only themselves by consuming anything possible. They will use strong tentacles to strangle and tear their prey apart.

The tentacles have gained tough extra layers of luminescent skin that changes color based on the state it is in. A deep blue when it is full and a deep red when it is hungry. This is a natural change due to their high amount of trapped spiritual energy. They have very weak mouths that are between the tentacles. It is a guaranteed kill spot if attacked.'

Clark read and absorbed the information from the analysis in seconds. His next strike with the black lighting spear came out piercing forward. The falling moon pierce stabbed in between the tentacles that were cracking the rocks. Everyone watched as the glowing cannibal jellyfish suddenly shriveled and the tentacles fell limp.

Unfortunately, the group heard the sickening sound of cracking and chomping as the jellyfish body was pulled away and a wave of red light showed out of the path to the third floor. It was clear that many of the glowing cannibal jellyfish had felt the change in the air and were now rushing toward their chance at more food.

It didn't help that many of them had become trapped in the exit to the third floor. All that did was give them a better chance at eating their fellow cannibal jellyfish.

The stones began to show more and more cracks as Isa called her crystal golem to throw the moved stones back. But the stones were wrapped in tentacles and shattered in just a few seconds. The hole was widening and showing off the larger size of these glowing cannibal jellyfish.

What really shook them though, was the fact that some of them were currently eating each other as they also pushed out toward the group since they were the closest possible prey. "I'm not letting you get in the way of saving anyone!" Ella yelled out and called her earth prince to show itself. The sudden shaking of earth energy made everything feel surreal.

The feeling of shaking in any cavernous area would shock someone.

But for Ella to act on her emotions like that was not normal. Her state had been on edge for a while and she had been struggling to keep the usual logical attitude she had. But with so many of her friends backing her up and letting her be selfish so that she could help her brother, she would not stop now. She wasn't going to let someone else's mistakes potentially lead to the death of her brother.

She wouldn't be able to face her mother or father like that. How could she grow strong enough to protect her friends like this? They needed her to get stronger and take responsibility for their group.

The earth jutted up and stabbed in to three of the glowing cannibal jellyfish. They were defeated even without a single hit to their vital points. The sheer damage was too much for them to function. Ella had let her beasts get well ahead of her. She knew that there was a risk to letting them out and using their full strength. That was why they had started to limit themselves to protect her.

That was just what their bonds were like. They all cared more deeply than anyone could understand.

In this matter, the earth prince didn't hesitate to act when it was called for help. It could sense the danger the moment it had shown itself from Ella's unique taming space. Whether it was going to rest or not, it had the energy to be able to defeat the immediate threats. Especially because those that it attacked had been damaged by the others around it.

Immediately after the attack, the earth prince retreated back toward Ella. the earth body that it made breaking apart slightly to lessen the flow of energy putting pressure on Ella. It was some sacrifice to protect her even more.

This had bought Isa enough time to also fuse with her flame sprite and send a fire ball in to the now glowing red hole that led to the third floor. "Maria, what do you think we can do here? Can Lit communicate with them?" The idea was not bad but Clark already knew what Maria would say.

"No way! Those things are running wild. They are pretty much berserk beasts at this point. That's why Lit is sticking by me." Maria had her dagger out but wasn't sure she would be able to do anything against the glowing red jellyfish she was watching force their way out of the third floor.

"I won't let them get near anyone. Isa and I can keep attacking from a distance. We have to beat the rest of this swarm then we can battle our way down. I know that there will be worse off deeper. Some things might be scaring them up." Clark didn't want to say that he knew exactly the kind of beast that was deeper in this dungeon. If he did, then it could be wrong.

The perfect example were the forcefully mutated glowing cannibal jellyfish right before him. They weren't just glow sting jellyfish. They were vicious beasts that couldn't control their hunger anymore. But worse off would be whatever might have happened to the luminescent sharks that may or may not be the same or different.

If the sharks had the same mutation, then they could be much more dangerous than they had been before. They could also be harder to fight against just like the jellyfish right now that were able to crack rocks easily.

"Ella, you will need to keep your beasts and yourself in check. It's not worth being a victim yourself to save your brother. He will want to see you healthy when we get him awake and in a safe place." Clark made sure to let Ella know this. He spoke calmly but without allowing an inch.

After a moment, Ella blinked and called the earth prince back to the taming space. She knew that it would be foolish to lose herself completely here. But she wanted to run forward in to the third floor past the dangers to find more bright blue bells that had certainly grown in to the third floor from the second floor.

"Just stick behind us," Isa let another fire ball fly at the cannibal jellyfish attacking one another after the three had been defeated. "And you will be safe. We are pretty damn strong you know!" Isa let flames appear a little more around her body preparing for another attack, while Maria took position next to Ellla to act as her body guard in case she let her natural emotions act for her again.
