Spirit Taming

Chapter 432: Split Up For Speed

Chapter 432: Split Up For Speed

As soon as the healers created space for Ella's brother, the rest of the group stepped back. It wasn't because they didn't want to see the whaling but because they wanted to show some privacy for the procedure that would start. However, it was quick for the team working to halt.

"I see that the situation has altered our patients' energy. It will not be safe to operate anything right now. The most we can do is begin with nutritional supplements. Calmer energy is needed before we can make any proper progress." This was what Clark had expected that Pia would say this since she was an expert in healing. She could clearly see the dangers in healing an entire arm now.

"We will need some materials, they are in the dungeon we are sending you. There is a list to gather. Since the dungeon is a safe place for healers, we have started an herb growing section there. While they still grow wildly, it is easy to find where they have moved over the years." Pia was dead set on staying with the newest patient here.

There were others that had been brought to the camp through other means, but they appeared to be their own unique cases. From what the group could see, the connections that the white robed healers had brought some injured or those in comas from multiple places. While they were not always successful in healing them, they could give the best care possible.

"Green trumpet flowers, spindle moss, and the blue spirit nectar from a bright blue bell. That's all you need. It is a mix of nutritional and spiritual herbs that we will mix together in to a paste. Add it to honey water and it is ideal for allowing someone's internal spirit to recover and help calm themselves. It will also make someone extremely drowsy.

It contains things that will easily calm a large beast. That is why we sell them to people who wish to capture large beasts for taming."

While this was an interesting addition to what the group had expected, the white robed healers were easily showing another aspect of what they had to offer. Their healing experimentations and knowledge had long seen many other things discovered. This was one of them. While their sleeping and calming paste was able to cause beasts to calm, it had value in healing too.

Someone with painful injuries may struggle to sleep.

"It can only be made fresh. It does not last long. The shelf life is only a few hours, if you want to preserve it you must have an alchemist refine it. Unfortunately, we only harvest it as needed because of the educational means here. We also can not bring those herbs out in to this temperament.

The green trumpet flours are better off in the dim light of a dungeon and the spindly moss will rot if exposed to so much moisture at once. The only one that could survive out here is the bright blue bell flowers."

This was all good information, Isa took careful note of it while Ella took the sketches from the assistant healers. She was going to find them as fast as possible. She also saw that this knowledge could be recorded later if need be. For now though, she looked at Pia and waited for guidance to go to the dungeon.

"Now follow that apprentice healer there, he will take you to the building we house the dungeon entrance in." Pia saw that the entire group was going to be leaving. However, as she watched, she saw the group stop and Clark begin to give orders. It was interesting seeing the young so organized.

She had already felt that these people were very different from the young healers she saw, well above their level.

"I think we should split in to a smaller group. I want to bring Maria, Isa, Ella, and myself. That would be the best for this dungeon. Ralph should see what the healing tools are so we can make some. Grace should worry about learning some basics about survival from healers. You are trying to help out in your own ways and I saw that you were very focused on how the healers were working."

Clark had seen that Grace had watched the movements of the healer team like a hawk. Since it interested her so much, it was best to let her take that curiosity and learn about it. "If they are going to be busy doing so, I will use the peaceful area to train. I can sneak without worry and see what can and cannot notice me." Jerold didn't even hesitate, he left as soon as he said this.

"If we aren't going to a dungeon then we are training. The heat around some of these springs should be able to train us. I can train my body with bread in the hottest areas. We have some ice resistance, why not heat too?" Reese had a very good idea for him and Brad.

While Brad wanted to be tougher in general and it was expected for him to keep training his defenses and resistances, Reese was a slightly different. He saw this as a spiritual and mental training chance. He would be able to sit with his abyssal sword and focus his internal spiritual energy to help him improve. By pushing his will and limits, he could bond deeper with his partner.

His mental strength could increase making his swordsmanship tougher. The opportunity was there and since he wasn't useful to the rest of the group right now, he wasn't going to waste the chance to become stronger.

"Heat resistance will be good. Solar academy and Lunar academy are near some lava fields. When we visit them I will need to fight against fire type beasts. I can't gain fire resistance just by being around Ralph's work here." Brad looked for a healer apprentice and followed Reese. The two seemed to have gotten closer over time. Their training methods were similar.

They were more like brothers now than teammates. Almost like they were rivals. Brad's shield against Reese's sword.

"So you want everyone to keep getting stronger while we move faster. That's good. But I might need to stay in the dungeon longer." Maria made it clear that she would need to see how the glow sting jellyfish lived. She wasn't sure how she would allow Lit to grow from here on. She just knew the rough plan and materials that Clark said they needed.

"I wouldn't worry about that too much. We have access to it while we are here. Ella takes precedence here. But I think we will look for some good things too while gathering herbs. We can get some seeds to store away. If we even get a plot of land rented, we can figure out how to make a proper herb growing area.

Maybe one of us can learn to do that." Isa was thinking ahead. Her business sense was still keeping the front of her mind.

While Clark understood that it actually fits with his desires to have a place of his own for all activities, it was still a little far ahead. But there was no issue gathering seeds or roots of herbs while they could. It was fine to save them in dormant states within their spatial rings. That just kept them prepared for the future, which was always good.

"Please follow me, your preparations are not needed. The two floors of this dungeon are only inhabited by glow sting jellyfish and some smaller weaker insect type monsters. There is high spiritual energy within them and a perfect breeding space. While it is not recommended to attack them, they are all peaceful.

The elders that formed this camp once said they believed there to be a larger dungeon here, unfortunately, that was false. Every glow sting jellyfish dungeon or healing type beast dungeon has proved to be small and not worth farming other than herbs."

The apprentice was making sure that the group would not be causing trouble. He was also just being nice. He wanted to make sure that the importance shown to these guests was kept. If he did so and a good word was put in for him, he might be able to learn directly from the head healer, Pia. That would be the most elevating thing to his future as a healer.

"We will do some exploring but we will not hesitate to battle if we are forced in to a corner. But I trust that we will be safe here. I know that none of you would compromise the deals we have by misleading us. I am interested in the layout of the dungeon, does it change?" Ella took the lead and Claakr stepped back. He saw that Ella had become much more serious now than ever before they got here.

The leadership that Ella rarely used was something she had learned to get to this point. But she had always been alone until she met Clark's group. Now she was showing her true age and advanced level of education.
