Chapter 431: The Art Of Deals
Chapter 431: The Art Of Deals
The idea that a group wouldn't just be able to go towards a resting area when arriving at a friendly camp, especially for business, was normally an insult. But since the situation was very unique, the group didn't see it this way. The white robed healers in charge also made sure to show their respect and give waves.
This staved off any possible negativity that might come from getting right down to business.
Most of the group had seen some instances of Isa getting in to a full merchant mode. They had seen how she acted and how well she spoke when in a business situation. However, they had not seen her fall in to her perfect business mode trained by her family. This left them all stunned.
The same things they had missed in Nebula were all being seen now. The dramatic seriousness that analyzed the opponent in this game of deals was clearly shown. Isa was completely separating herself from her emotional side. This showed the true depth of what she was able to do.
All the negotiations and connections that Isa had used were not just for show when she was in Nebula. She had gained a lot of valuable information that even led to the group finding some very unique merchants. It also helped them use all of their gold, silver, and bronze coins in the best possible ways. Yet, it made a lot of sense why she always dealt in gold.
The things she bought were not so cheap and not so small. It was a higher level of bargaining for merchants to supersede any smaller tender.
"I know that our arrangements are not the best, but we have to train the healers of our organization to survive the worst and the best. Stone homes will keep them warm enough for their training. The wilderness is not always this warm or this welcoming." The head healer had yet to introduce herself but it appeared she was sharing this generic apology as she would anyone else.
"My name is Pia, I am the head healer here. I represent the training of a large number of white robed healers. The main focus here is to create healers that can survive the northern and the southern wilderness with their groups. Pleased to meet you all. I wish I had seen the tournament but I was not able to leave my position here.
However, I have heard of your exploits and am very glad to meet the Nova stars who won and shocked the city lords."
"I agree, it is very nice to meet you. There's no need to apologize, the area is good for our training as well. As you know, we are here to handle multiple matters. The growth of our battle healer's princess jellyfish, the gathering of materials, and currently, the healing of an injured family member." Isa's sudden counter was followed by a slight smile.
However, the entire atmosphere of the room seemed to drift in to her control.
This was the weight of someone that knew exactly how to capture the flow of a conversation. While Pia was apparently the one in charge, it was clear that a teaching healer was nothing like a trained from birth merchant. The general feeling was just too different.
"We are able to teach you the growth plan developed by us to reach a princess jellyfish. That is the proper growth to become a true queen glow sting jellyfish capable of much higher healing. It will elevate the level of the glow sting species but also the white robed healers overall. That is a very promising deal already."
Isa let those words sink in. This was just the starter. She knew that she could allow the information to sit, or she could show what she wanted to. It would keep her control over everything here. Pia also sensed this and waited patiently before jumping at the offer. "We are looking for the entrance to the glow sting jellyfish dungeon.
I am sure it is here somewhere for training. That allows us to gain the proper materials for the growth of our healer's beast."
It seemed like a small trade but this was exactly the deal the healers wanted. "However, we are also sure that we will be able to sweeten this exchange. There should be materials you have gathered from other sources that should be valuable.
We could use some of these spiritual materials, poison materials, and basic knowledge about your other healing beasts since that would help us expand our business. I feel this is a fair exchange."
While this seemed to balance the deal, Isa could sense that Pia was a little unwilling. "It is a fair deal. I appreciate that. But what else would make this deal sweeter? We are limited in what we receive. Not everyone can afford the healing from our groups.
We often hold free healing events to help others." Pia made sure to show that they were also a charitable group.
"Yes, that grows your reputation well. It is why we chose to come here. However, you forget that our eyes and our beast analysis strength is greater than you understand. The hidden growth path is not all we have. The poison focused and the pure healing focused growth paths can be improved.
Do you not think we could do such things?" Isa said this like she was dropping heavy facts that would shake any industry. The amount of force in her words was perfect.
"Improvements?" Pia looked at her with slightly wide eyes. She had seen that she taught and that the white robed healers used the same beast plans for years and years at this point.
'Yes, the poisons used are too small. They have limited healing related uses. But if you can expand the poisons used it will be better for surgery, healing, and pain relief. But what of you could also expand to some medicinal uses related to fevers? Not to mention the healing efficiency can be boosted for pure healing plans to unlock different skills that focus on bones."
Now this was news. Healing bones was hard for any beast. The healers that learned these things often had to use specialized beasts and not general healing beasts. The glow sting jellyfish didn't have such skill and would often be forgotten and replaced by other beasts. But if a healer could nurture one beast that could heal bones and other injuries, it would make them much more valuable.
"That should be enough for you to assist better when it comes to healing someone who lost an arm. They also have some other injuries that can be taken care of. But we will need the materials for it along with some materials to stabilize their and their beasts energies. It is a very tough situation, as you know." Isa closed the conversation with this.
There was too much valuable information for anyone to just shake their heads and say no.
The white robed healers would be winning too much with this. It would change the way that they functioned and potentially gave them a way to expand to every single city. Regardless of their charitable causes, they would be able to charge the groups that hired them much more which would further grow them.
They could fully function as an autonomous organization rather than one twitch camps in the wilderness guarded by other families.
"While I see the value in these things, I understand that the time requirements are different for each. Let's forget that we have the growth plans to focus on. We should be focused on healing your injured member. I will personally be seeing to it along with the top educators here in the camp. From there we will proceed with an open lecture on beats growth and potential materials.
Then we can enter the dungeon."
This was the agreement to the terms that Isa laid out for them. It was clear that Pia had agreed but she was now shifting focus from any form of business to executing what needed to be done. This was the same as Isa changing to business. Instead, Pia was changing from the leader here to the experienced healer that was able to teach many young healers over and over to become much better.
"Please go and get four preparatory healers, three alchemists in training, and two of the assistants." One healer had been waiting outside for them. Pia gathered her orders and sent them on the way to get what was needed. In just a moment, healers were rushing around.
Students, the younger healers, were stopped in their tracks witnessing the speed and efficiency of their teachers. It was a very telling example of what life was about here. The knowledge they could gain just by watching how movements were done for this single operation was key to their future development. But it also showed Clark's group the depths of what they could do.
How they could also improve what they were doing and how they were moving. The unwasted movements were the perfect show of what needed to be learned for the group in battle as well.
