Chapter 430: Steam In The Jungle

Chapter 430: Steam In The Jungle

"I didn't think we would be wrong about this area. But we are." Isa was pleasantly surprised. She had thought that the snow aged sloths were the only reason that this area was kept safe. But as the group saw that there was a frosty mist around, they all understood that there had to be something that caused it.

The mists wouldn't form because there was just too much cold. It could mean there was a larger beast that could cause more ice energy to radiate from its body. However, this wasn't the case, the mist was warmer in some places and green plants had begun to show themselves around where the group was walking. It was incredibly uncharacteristic for the frozen jungle they were in.

'Steam ape- uncommon

The steam ape will often make homes near ice type beasts because it will follow the natural hot springs that are often under the ground in cold areas. While this has led to them becoming trapped in small environments, they are very calm and protective beasts. They will subsist off the unique water and fire energies that make up the hot springs environments.

There are often other beasts that live around them and even within the many hot spring pools, however, those beasts rarely bother the steam apes. Especially if there are other powerful beats that live around them.

Many people have tamed steam apes but they usually get stuck at a single growth level because the steam ape is better off growing with multiple steam apes. They are a very social beast that will grow as they protect the young of their group. They also enjoy salt, it is their favorite snack.

The steam ape is capable of battle and will often attack with extremely hot steam or boiling balls of water. Unfortunately, they will often choose to warn away attackers first with intimidating roars and screeches. If this fails they will often attack in groups. The best way…'

Clark was looking at the many pools that stretched put through this massive area. The clearing was not some small place but instead a huge rocky and green place filled with easily over a hundred steam apes. The white robed healers were also in the mix. Their studies clearly focused on the whaling nature of hot springs and some of the beasts that lived in them.

From what everyone could see, the white robed healers had set up multiple permanent homes made of stone so that they naturally melded with the clearing within the frozen jungle. It was an isolated and peaceful place in such a different area. A drastic new ecosystem that more than proved how nature could flip everything upside down without even a little effort.

The carriage was noticed just after a moment. There were multiple steam apes that started to move toward them but none seemed angry or intimidating. It was more curiosity about a carriage and a group of new people had arrived. The very young and small steam apes were quick to move closer too.

The white fur that covered their body was almost highlighted by their bright red skin. The only other part of their bodies that stood out were the fact that they had larger red sacks that hid just under their furs. This held the boiling water within their bodies that they would use to fight if need be. It was a natural evolution of the steam ape species over time. A very odd but incredible thing.

By the time that a white robed healer reached them, Ella was already opening the carriage and the guards were standing down. They had never been to such a place but were starting to understand that this was the ending of their journey. However, they were also starting to think that they should take the time to remain here after payment.

It wasn't just the fact that they had not seen such a palace. It was the fact that they could sense the peaceful and whaling energies in the air. Many people believed that natural hot springs could heal well, but now they too felt this. Therefore, taking time to replenish their energies and gain some strength would be wise.

As such, Clark finally saw the four beasts that the guards had. Four pale blue foxes with two tails each appeared from the surroundings. Clark was able to quickly use his analysis to discover their species.

'Ice veil fox- rare

The ice veil fox is a subspecies of another ice fox species. They will normally live within families of five to seven in dens beneath the snow and ice. They are very well known for being able to hunt in complete silence while blending in with the glacial ice they prefer to live near.

They hunt fish that freeze themselves in ice to hide or to protect themselves. This makes their teeth and claws tough enough to cut through dense ice. They are also able to hunt for days on end so that they can find enough food to bring back to their dens for the young.

Often, they are tough to form bonds with. This is not the case if they are born to a family though. Oftentimes, it is found that if one family member in a generation has an ice veil fox as a beast, the next three to seven born in the generation will get this as their beast. No one understands why but it is a very popular debating topic in the beast breeding world.

They are…'

Clark found it very comical that none of the group had realized that the guards shared some features. Whether it was their stances or voices, no one had noticed. But since the guards were taking off their armor to clean it and relax, it was easy to see the relationships they had. Similar hair colors and cheek bones made it easy to say that these might be brothers or cousins.

A funny fact of their journey that no one had taken on to.

"It was expected that you would arrive here. I know exactly who you are. But you have arrived earlier than expected. Even the letters sent ahead of you just reached us." the woman speaking was wearing a white robe with a few more patterns on the fabrics than others. It clearly stated that she was the one in charge of most things here. But that wasn't important.

Ella was focused on other things.

"There was an accident of sorts. My brother's arm is lost and he needs a new one healed and regenerated. We are on a tight time frame and came here earlier than we planned. That is also why we chose this location. What do you need to make it happen and how soon can it be done?" Ella didn't hold back. She wanted answers as soon as possible.

Then she would worry about other things.

"As you know, we have to make a deal for such things. We can heal him, but at a price. We also lack the current materials to improve our beasts to a proper level. I can make it happen with my partner, but again, I lack the materials needed for nutrition. I would recommend you settle the deal first." it was a proper reply that was not full of malice, just blunt.

The healer clearly knew how to make sure that everything moved along the way they all wanted.

Clark stepped forward next to Ella, "we know you want the growth method for the glow sting jellyfish. The proper growth method that doesn't ,get you the false queen jellyfish with a weaker ability to heal and poison. Also you wish to know how to get them to a point that allows a healer to attack and defend. We can make that happen. We have growth plans."

"You will be partnering with us and our knowledge as a business. However, as you can tell, we have priorities. We will be staying here for a length of time to teach you and have you assist us. We will also be going inside the glow sting jellyfish dungeons for materials to get to a true glow sting queen jellyfish.

Naturally, we will be letting you personally witness that happen if you can speed up the healing process here."

Clark was sure to put some force in to his words. He knew that this healer was in charge, but also knew that she was showing her attention because she wanted the knowledge too. It was easy to see that she valued it for herself to a degree. Possibly because she wanted to be able to go out of the healing ground safely without having to pay for escorts.

Powerful healers always feared travel because they were the weak link in battle. They could rarely fight while healing.

"A quick reply and explanation. I will agree to that. I already have my younger healers preparing an area for our new patient. Let's move to the meeting building so that we can discuss what is needed. I will trust that we can work efficiently based on your attitude." The healer looked at Clark with some greed but also with praise.

She was sure that this was the source of the unknown growth of a species she had seen her whole life.
