Chapter 433: Glow Sting... Dungeon

Chapter 433: Glow Sting... Dungeon

With the group split, many people would have expected the dynamics to change. However, those who saw the plans forming were impressed more so than they were unsure. It was the air of confidence that the group had in their actions. It was clear that there was more to their actions.

They didn't appear to act selfishly to get ahead by themselves, instead, the healers watched as they thought and spoke of things they would be doing to help one another.

While the healers were young as well, they were learning more than just healing. They had to learn survival to make sure that they would not perish when they were hired to become healers for travelers. It was just common sense to have a healer when a merchant or large group was traveling the wilderness or going to a dangerous dungeon.

It was actually rare for a young healer to remain within a city and become a healer for that city or area.

Instead, the healers were able to see the group of students acting as if they were still in a dangerous place. Just because the area was considered peaceful, didn't mean it would always be that way. Clark's group was still acting with some sense of danger. This was just common sense but for them, it was surprising.

"What do you think about the dungeon?" Maria asked Clark since she wasn't sure what he would think. The apprentice healer had just left them in front of a larger stone building that appeared to be the cover for the entrance to the glow sting jellyfish dungeon.

"I'm wondering why the elders may have thought it was larger than it was once. It makes me think that I might be able to find more than just a second floor." Clark was having trouble wrapping his mind around this. It was odd for every single glow sting jellyfish dungeon to only have two floors. That alone made him skeptical.

"Finding a third floor is not the current goal we have. Clark, if you manage to find such a thing you can pursue that after we have gathered the required materials. I wish for you to be there for my brother's healing. You could see something we might not." While Ella was a bit more forceful, she was right. Clark could tell if there was an issue with the living thorns.

If that was the case, he could stop it.

"That's fine. I wasn't planning on abandoning you or your brother. I just wanted to make note of it. But I wonder if there are better healing materials in some sealed off place. This entire dungeon is peaceful and a great place for multiple healing herbs. What if it's not completed or has something more?

Another healing beast maybe? It just made me feel off." The feeling was mutual. The entire group had some skepticism.

"You are all right to feel that way. Every single healer that comes here feels that way. But we all try to tell them that there is no third floor or powerful dungeon boss here. No beasts that aren't the basic ones we have recorded either. Every once in a while an herb mutates though and we get to record a rare new herb sub species." The voice came from the inside of the stone building.

"Don't mind me, I'm just a retired healer that came here for the hot springs and to keep track of the entrance. I just record the growth of the herbs here when apprentice healers take them out."

The man had the long beard to match his age, it was almost the picture perfect image of being old. However, his energy was definitely much higher which came from being able to rest his bones in the healing waters of a hot spring. Anyone would have a higher energy level if they were able to relax and give their body better care.

"Oh, don't look like that. You will all look for a third floor anyways. Everyone does. I did when I first came here a few years ago. It was a fun little challenge to hunt for. You should do it.

You won't find anything that's not there though." The man chuckled a little; he clearly enjoyed his retirement here. "Now, in you go. Just don't go harming any of the beasts or herb patches. The first floor is well marked out. The second is a little more wild so that the herbs can grow more naturally."

"Thank you for the advice. We will have some fun while we search. I will make sure we give you an accurate number when it comes to what we harvest." Isa bade the old man farewell as the group moved forward. The stone stairwell went down in to the familiar darkness of a dungeon.

'Glow sting swarm dungeon

Home to multiple glow sting beasts. Spiritual and poison type dungeon that naturally allows for the glow sting jellyfish, glow worms, and the iridescent shark to grow. They have the innate ability to grow in large numbers which causes the dungeon to have a high potential for breakouts.

However, the spiritual and poison type energies will rarely reach that point, instead, they condense in to many poison and spiritual energy crystals that are easily farmed.'

The analysis that Clark did was the same he had done on other dungeon entrances in the past. He had expected to just see the title, glow sting jellyfish dungeon. Yet, he saw the word swarm in it. This made everything feel much more dangerous than he was imagining. He also saw that there was another beast that he had never heard of listed in the core species of beasts that were in the dungeon.

The iridescent shark.

"We should be ready for a battle. There's a feeling I have. Just a feeling that there really might be a third floor and really might be something less peaceful here." When Clark said this, Isa just nodded, she had already expected something like this from her own instincts. But Ella and Maria were more curious about what it might be.

They too had the same feelings but knew that Clark may have just grasped at a puzzle piece. Something that put him more on edge than before.

"Regardless of the danger, we have things to do." Ella made her firm decision. It was nice to see her pushing forward. Normally, Ella remained in the observatory role. She saw herself as the one that would be able to record the history of the group's achievements. The one that would offer some insight in one thing or another but truly as someone who would just leave the proof of many achievements.

But lately, she had been taking the lead and realizing that her passiveness had just been holding them behind.

Her taken role as the leader also showed her that the others had more respect for her than she imagined. No one had flinched when she wanted help. No one had hesitated when she pushed to get her brother healed. And not a single person had reprimanded her for acting on her emotions instead of the pure logic she liked to focus on.

She had acted more human, and she had been accepted as such without a single thought otherwise.

The scene that appeared before them when they reached the bottom of the stairs was a wonderland of sorts. Over head was a very tall cavern. But many glow worms sat on the ceiling making it appear as if they were stars in a dark sky. The air in the dungeon was surprisingly fresh, but the many sections of herbs growing were the clear reason.

As the group scanned the large cavern floor, they found that natural cave pillars created breaks in the gardens for walking. More than just the three herbs they looked for were growing here. Some were even the kind of herbs that were easily found in any forest. However, they were grown here since the frozen forest above wouldn't be able to handle them well enough.

Here and there, a single or a group of glow sting jellyfish would float idly. They didn't appear hostile and when Lit emerged from Maria's taming space, she floated right near them as if communicating.

A few healers moved around helping the herbs along. They needed pruning, watering, and some beds needed to be replanted entirely. It was a calming environment that completely put aside the worries that Clark had. "The green trumpet flours are right here. The first things we see." Isa stepped toward the flower bed that was right next to the stairs.

It was a perfectly planted line of green trumpet flowers. They were even next to a wood post labeled with the details about how many could be harvested for the day. A very efficient system.

"Then we take those first. We can look for the other two, well, the other one after. There are two more herb beds over there that look like the sketches we need. But I don't see the bright blue bell anywhere here. Must be on the second floor maybe?" Maria was going to start on the other herbs, specifically the spindly moss that seemed to take up an entire bed.

she was sure that the bright blue bell would be the hardest to find.
