Chapter 354: Business Rivals

"Basically, Brad altered the skill that his possessed helm has to boost the strength of his body by wearing it. At the cost of using more energy and putting strain on his body while using blood as the catalyst, he has discovered how to strengthen his shield and sword." Clark praised Brad as he watched the fight continue.

The frost on the frost slab beast was chipped off in a single swing of the black iron sword which was channeling the energy from the possessed helm and Brad. It was impressive to see the true side of the frost slab was barely the size of a book.

The technique that Brad's opponent had used to force the ice to build up had been completely broken. Any attempt to breathe more was being shattered before there was a chance. Brad had been increasing his attacks more and more.

"Damn it! I didn't want to use this!" In a rush of cold air, a second beast showed itself right behind the Nebula student.

'Icling - common

The icling is a beast that is similar in form to an imp. However, it is weaker than an imp but can control more ice type energy to create large gusts of freezing air. They have a chance to grow in to many different beasts however require a lengthy time to absorb the proper ice type materials.

They love the colder conditions and often live around ice golems for protection. If they manage to find a good home, they would do anything to stay at it. This includes sacrificing themselves to protect those they view as necessary to save their home.

The weakness in the body of the icling…'

There was not much about the icling. It was a weak beast that looked like a miniature imp. Yet, Clark could tell that it had a lot of energy condensed within its body. Brad had already been coated in frost completely after just one attack. But this didn't slow Brad in the least.

The black iron shield charged forward smashing in to the Nebula academy student. Even though the icling was still rushing around sending waves of frost at Brad further freezing him, the nebula student was panicking. The reason for the panic was simple, he was nearing the edge with the constant shield bashes and sword slashes.

"If you won't stop then I will bring you with me!" The Nebula academy student knew he was falling out of the arena. In a desperate attempt, he dropped his ice slab beast and grappled with Brad. The two fell leaving the entire audience without a definitive winner.

Brad had fallen and been shocked, stopping his attacks while the Nebula academy student just lay on the ground trying to catch his breath since he had just managed to survive this.

"The match is over!" The referee quickly rushed to speak with five other referees that had been watching from different angles. They had all wondered what exactly had happened since each view showed something different. The arguing was clear to the audience before they all eventually nodded along.

"In the unique, never before occurrence, we have decided that both will receive the point. This is due to both participants touched the outside of the arena at the exact same time. It was truly an awe inspiring match. The third point will be held for the next round's winner.

Either Nebula or Nova academy can obtain it depending on who manages to knock the other out seeing as Ethereal academy has also bowed out of the next match!"

Not only did this made the audience go wild, but they were shouting for the referees to be kicked out too. They thought that having the next match be a double pointed match was ridiculous. They could gain both Ethereal academy's points. It was never before seen in a tournament.

However, on top of this, there was also the fact that Etherea academy had again, bowed out leaving their last members ready for the final battles without a scratch on them. A clear set up to let them fight weaker opponents.

"Brad, don't use that skill again until your possessed helm is a little stronger. It took a heavy toll on you." Clark could see where the possessed helm had dug in to Brad's skin. But he could also see that the possessed helm had cracked slightly. It couldn't handle the strength it had used. However, Clark was also thinking further.

"You should let it consume the black iron sword and shield. It will be rough because you just got them but now that it has strengthened them once, it is basically ready to use them as its next step." The metal type energy would be valuable but the metal itself was rare black iron. It could greatly strengthen the possessed helm.

"I will handle that." Brad spoke a little weak on his feet before he allowed a healer to come to him. He originally wanted Maria to heal him but realized that he had to handle it with someone else. Isa, Clark, and Maria were their four main fighters now. Everyone else was not in the best possible situation or they were just generally too low on energy.

If they did not remain prepared, then things would go poorly. Especially since the last five matches would be the rougher side of things.

Nebula academy had already sent someone out. They seemed to be waiting for one opponent in particular. They had the same look as Brad did when facing his last opponent.,. However, this girl was looking right at where Grace was.

Grace still had bandages on her arm. She had been healed by healers and Maria making her arm nearly perfectly fine. But she kept the bandages to play her own mind game. It was sneaky but wise. She could make it seem that there was a weak point while baiting the perfect counter.

"So that girl wants to fight you Grace. Do you want to go?" Isa saw the look and wanted to make Grace decide. This was because she knew who the girl was. Specifically, she was competition. "That is a daughter from the snow squall merchant group. She should be a little harder to fight." Isa made sure to point out the identity and the fact that this girl would be tough.

She isn't even hiding her white ringed lizard."

'White ringed lizard- rare

The white ringed lizard is one of the few lizards that can survive the cold. They have a unique ice elemental energy within them known to cause them to require cold and not heat like other lizard species. They also have a water typing that allows them to swim in frigid waters.

They are very fast and prefer to hunt avian beasts as their food sources. Their bites cause a poison known as frost toxin to spread in their prey. It causes their prey to slowly freeze from the inside out by rapidly cooling body temperature. This makes them incredibly dangerous and even hunted to be removed if their population grows too much.'

Clark only needed to read the basics. He shared this with the others while he also took some notes down in a book for Ella. he knew that she would be interested. Yet. he did not offer guidance. He wanted to see if Grace had general confidence to face this beast alone.

"I will fight with everything I have. But if we want the points, we should let someone else go." Grace knew that she could lose. If that happened, they would be missing valuable points that could go to letting them win everything. "Isa, can you handle it for me?" Grace asked Isa and a small smile bloomed on isa's face.

"Yes, Yes I can handle this. Thank you for the trust." Clark also nodded at Isa and Grace. He was proud to see that Grace was making informed decisions about her health and preparedness. It also showed that grace could tell if she was in a good or bad battle situation.

Isa waved her hand and allowed the first maiden and the flame sprite to show themselves. She also let the perfect crystal golem walk ahead of her. It was as if she had bodyguards all around her ready to defend her at every corner. The very aura she radiated was bigger and better than the Nebula academy student that had been eyes Grace.

"I see that a lower merchant group thinks they can stand with my business as if they are in the same level. Remind me, what other cities does the snow squall merchant group trade with?" These were words of war between rivals in business. It was no longer just about academy ties and becoming the strongest.

"Unfortunately, I hear that you are not related to other family businesses like the Rolly brothers. You have a small little thing and have to rely on others to make you stand out even a little bit." With the rebuttal thrown, the two glared at each other waiting for the referee to say something.
