Spirit Taming

Chapter 235: A Little Shy

Chapter 235: A Little Shy

"My muscle strength is definitely increasing. It has to be Crim's dragon energy." Clark could sense the differences while he was gathering energy through meditation. The dragon energies that Crim had charred with him were still flowing through his body well.

The difference it was making was not small in the least. There were chances to see how Clark could resist elemental attacks in the same way that dragons resisted them. On top of that, because Crim had unlocked the lightning affinity that came from the dragon he formed out of, Clark also had resistance to lightning.

The final benefit was that Clark could feel his body becoming tougher. Physically and in terms of energy. There was a quicker flow because of the double meditation benefits of the system. It had been a chain quest that forced Clark to become stronger while also allowing him to help Alexander find a way to get stronger.

"I wonder why the system wanted that?" This question rang in Clark's mind.

'The host is not required to understand the creator's guidance. The host is currently following their own will. The host requires strong allies.'

These three responses from the system were all Clark got when he wondered about this question. But it did make sense. "Who am I to question some gods about giving me this system? If that's the case I will just have to go thank them one day." This childish thought was one that Clark hadn't even begun to fathom. However, now that he did, he felt that he should actually make it a goal.

He could keep it in the back of his mind for now.

The next change that Clark felt was that he could sense a stronger death energy from Devi. The defeat of some stone imps had given Devi the chance to pull in more of the death energy. It was also perfectly paired with the shadow energy within the taming space. Overall, it was a great way to sense not one but two unique energies most other tamers would never be able to understand.

"I am pursuing one law of the world already I guess." This came to Clark's mind when he thought of the death energy that Devi was absorbing. It would be a massive struggle to understand such a complicated concept in the world. But if Clark and Devi touched upon it properly, Devi would become an existence standing overall. Much more than a beast that could control a dungeon.

"I've been at this long enough." Clark took what he could out of the spatial ring. He would prepare to hatch his third partner from the egg right this second. "Devi, Crim. Come here, help me hatch our new partner." The two were very quick to leave the taming space when Calrk called the egg out. They were incredibly excited to be able to see their new partner as well.

"It took us a while to get the energy you needed. But now we are ready to help you." The hatching potion was poured over the egg and the shadow crystals were placed all around the egg as well. Clark could feel the bond already there with the gg, he just had to reach his hand out and channel his own energy into it as assistance.

The immediate reaction from the egg was one that Clark was surprised by. The bond he had with the beast within the egg flared to life even stronger. The beast within the egg had been waiting for this moment and was reaching out with all its strength toward Clark.

The dark shell covered itself in spider web cracks. There was a scraping and building of shadow energy within Calrk's entire dormitory, not just his room. The protective magical runes seemed to be unable to stop the flow of energy. Naturally, this caused a little trouble as other students felt it and began to leave the dormitory in fear that there was an issue.

The only two people that sensed this and knew that there was something good happening were the just returned Isa and Maria. They had just come back from their training with each other. The moment that Maria had seen Isa return to the academy ground, she had recruited her as a sparring partner.

But when the pair burst in to Clark's room, they didn't dare say a word. They were witnessing the hatching of Clark's partner. They respected the privacy of this and decided to begin to hold off the professors coming by telling them that one student was hatching an egg.

This was not uncommon but the professors were a little annoyed that a student had caused such a ruckus by hatching an egg in the dormitory instead of another location.

The focus that Clark had was on the egg and only the egg. He was feeling the bonds increase while in meditation. His eyes had been tightly closed while doing this until he felt a soft touch on his hand.

The face that had greeted him was unexpected. It appeared to be a doll's face. A wooden and cloth doll of a little girl. However, the cloth seemed to hide the eight sharp wooden legs and pincers that actually made up the body. There were small threads moving around the doll making it seem as if the doll had hair.

'Puppeteer doll- mythic

The puppeteer doll is actually an arachnid beast that hides itself in a doll form. The body it had developed over many generations was used to allow it to hide within the prey it enjoyed hunting, humans.

The puppeteer doll is only able to control one being using its innate skill; shadow threads. This skill allows it to latch on to the shadow of a being. From there it can use its threads to control the being as if it is a puppet. This also allows for it to slowly but surely absorb the energy of the being until it becomes a corpse.

This beast used to be extinct in the world due to over hunting. Humans feared it in the early years since it would pretend to be a doll to capture children. From there, the doll would slowly fead on all the humans in a village. It was considered a great evil.

With proper growth, it can become the final form known for taking over entire kingdoms, the puppeteer queen. Known for controlling thousands of bodies using the advanced skill; infinite shadow threads.

The first growth from an infant puppeteer doll in to shadow puppeteer doll will require…'

The information was too great for this beast. History about it being extinct due to the fact that humans hunted it to nothing over fear. The fact that it could control another being using its threads. The fact that it hunted humans in particular to consume their energy. Everything about this beast was terrifying for the human race.

"But you are so cute. I swear you're just too perfect." Clark used his finger to pet the top of the puppeteer doll's head. He could tell that it was very weak and needed to consume the shells of its egg to get a little stronger. Therefore, he placed it down and watched it begin to eat.

The idea that this beast would seek out humans to eat was something Clark doubted. The system had clearly said being. That meant that his new partner could consume energy from any being it desired. That also meant that the stronger his new partner got, the stronger beast it could take over to fight for them.

Literally capturing an enemy's beast to sue against them or even using the perfect beast to counter another. It was a tricky fighting style that would catch everyone off guard.

"You have two skills, disguise so you can hide from enemies. Then you have your shadow thread skill that you will have to train. Based on that, I want to name you Shyama. It means shadow. But I can shorten it to the nickname Shy. you hide yourself in the shadows to fight.

It's just as cute as you are." Clark felt the approval of Shyama as she ate. This was his first female beast but he felt that she would easily stand over Crim and Devi if they were not careful to grow.

"Devil. Crimson. Meet your new little sister, Shyama. She will need more protection than either of you but she will be able to turn the tide of any battle. Treat her well." The approval of Crim and Devi came immediately. They were taken with their new little sister as well.

Feeling the gaze of her two older siblings, Shy stopped eating and hid her body pretending to be a doll until she felt the changes in her bonds as well. The sharing of a little energy was all she needed to understand that these two beasts were actually her family. Her partners in this world. It was enough for her to relax and return to eating. "Well, it's time I get those two from outside.

I might have caused a little trouble."
