Chapter 211: Lightning Infusion

Chapter 211: Lightning Infusion

"Shh, we won't wake her. She has been like that for four hours. It's almost time for us to leave." Clark heard what Isa had said but her stern look made Clark know that he was definitely in trouble.

"You did not hold off the larger orc. You also did not retreat when you saw it preparing to go wild." Ella spoke softly but gave a clear explanation of what Calrk had done wrong in their eyes.

"Hmmm," The soft sounds of Maria waking up were the reaction that anyone would have when they noticed movement around them. Her eyes fluttered softly open as she realized that everyone was looking at her.

"Thank you again for healing me. It's better than any healer I could have paid." Naturally, Clark was thankful. Maria had a great skill when it came to healing. She had clearly been learning about the human body and how to better assist Lit in healing activities.

"You're really alright?" Tears threatened to fall from Maria's eyes as she looked over the bloodied bandages that Clark wore.

"I will be fine as soon as we get out of here. This training showed me a lot. I am not ready to face the strongest monsters of low level dungeons alone. I got arrogant and tried to handle it without involving all of you. But instead, I was hurt. So was Crim.

he is acting oddly. Devi is almost out of energy and I am a burden to the team. We can't even train more because I wasted four hours of your time."

Since it was clear that Clark had fully grasped the error of his ways, Isa and Ella calmed themselves down. Their glares softened so that Clark could see that they truly were worried as well.

"Maria may be soft of heart for you but I am not. You must think more logically in the future. You have many insights that have changed the way I research. I do not wish to lose a valuable ally in the research field." As much as Ella hid away her true emotions, everyone knew this was her way of saying that she hated seeing Clark hurt.

"I will make you work extra to pay for the bandages we used." Isa just stubbornly ignored Clark as she cleaned up the small camp they had made while he slept.

While Maria checked the bandages and helped Clark stand up, he noticed just how tired she was as well. Maria had exhausted a lot of her energy and was just recovering after drinking a potion made to help revitalize the body after a battle.

"Did you grab the lighting infused wood? What about the body of the lightning orc?" Since Clark didn't want them to miss out on such valuable items, he had to ask.

"I have stored the body, what was left of it, in my spatial ring. The wood is stored in Isa's ring. We will sell what we can. The lightning infused bones of the orc may be valuable. I was considering an experiment." For Isa to say that she was looking to create an experiment was odd.

"Is this about-"

"Yes, I have my ice maiden and flame sprite. What if I gained a wind elemental wisp like Ella has? She can guide me and I can use my partners to help me create lightning attacks. They can fuse with me, I can use a staff created from the lightning infused bones, and then attack with lightning. It will be an advancement of my training after I open my taming space."

This was a very good direction to go in. but Clark worried that Ella and Isa would have too similar of abilities. Their beasts would be of the four major elemental energies of the world. "We understand your worries. Maria mentioned the same thing you may be thinking about." Ella easily caught on to what Clark had running through his mind.

"I have decided to fuse my high wind wisp and high water wisp to make a cloud king path. You mentioned it and I already planned it. The energy will be high but it will be fine. I will also introduce the lightning wood to create a storm king. A new variant I believe possible after seeing the lightning orc's battle." Ella's inspiration made Clark wonder how he could help her.

"Alright, I will take those two things in mind while we walk out of here. Maria, I can walk myself. Just stick nearby in case I slip in the mud." Clark looked back as the lightning stuck ground while he worried about how they would fare in future battles. He had to improve.

"How bad is Crim hurt?" Maria was worried that she wouldn't have enough energy to help Crim later as well.

"It's not that he's hurt. He is acting very strange. I know he was hit with the lightning too. To be honest, I am wondering how I was not hurt more. I should have some lightning burns but I don't have any…" The worry that Clark had while speaking was clear. But his words had halted Ella.

"Get him out now. You don't have much time if my theory is correct." Without hesitation, Clark called to Crim and he began to materialize from the edens end taming space.

"Just as I believed, see the small yellow strands in his slime body? He is having trouble holding himself together because he trapped the lightning that went to your body. Crim has protected you. I will remove the lightning orc's body. We must dig out the lightning heart that may be left inside it." Hearing this confused Clark even more.

But when he saw Ella get to work, he could only sit in awe as she pulled a yellowing bloody heart from the charred body.

'Lightning heart- ultra rare

The lightning heart is something that forms within a beast that has tempered their body with lighting. It is the singular reason they are able to grasp and use lightning to high degrees. If this is consumed by a beast that has absorbed great amounts of lightning, it will have a high chance of adapting to the lightning. This can often cause a massive evolution or mutation process.

Some beasts we even change their breed entirely.'

"Clark! Listen to me, stop letting your mind wander. Ella said that Crim needs to absorb that heart now. It's damaged but it can be used to heal him. My healing would do nothing." Maria pulled Clark back to his senses and he took the lightning heart. He felt it become static as he placed it on Crim's slime body.

This instant the lightning heart touched Crim, it was pulled in to his body. The lightning yellow surged around him and his body lost form in to an egg shape. The lightning dancing around the core and the materialization of bones and teeth made them all feel as if they were seeing some strange freak of nature. Something that did not usually happen in the world.

'The system has sensed that the host has successfully completed the requirements to complete the quest. Due to dungeon changes, weather alternatives, and unforeseen circumstances, the reward has been given based on performance instead of perfect completion of the dungeon.'

The moment seemed to be wrong. Clark was more concerned with Crim than anything.

'Host, you must not worry about Crimson. The system has analyzed the changes. The result of the lightning entering Crimson's body is a massive evolution returning Crimson to the blood of the origination dragon. The typhoon dragon.'

Clark's thoughts raced even more. The system seemed to have access to this even though Clark had not said anything, it read his mind and replied.

"Host, the system is bound to you. The system is able to sense you and your bonds. The typhoon dragon is a now extinct dragon that once controlled fire, wind, and water to create massive storms. They destroyed entire coastal villages. By relation, Crimson may become a mythical beast with three to five typings. Fire, water, wind, dragon, and undead.

More lightning materials are needed. Use the lightning infused wood and one rib from the orc corpse.'

"Isa, grab five pieces of the lighting infused wood and toss it inside Crim. Ella, I need what ever rib bone is most intact from that corpse." Neither girls ignored Clark's orders. They believed the light in his eyes. They believed that he was doing what was best for Crim now that he had seen the issue.

"Now this is what we expect from you. Persevere." Maria felt emotions welling up in her chest while watching this happen. She didn't worry for Crim at all. She knew that Clark was showing themes something amazing yet again.

The materials were tossed in to the slime egg in front of them. The lightning beginning to alter the deep red color of the slime in to a brighter orange. A large difference that made Clark wonder just what the results would be.
