Spirit Taming

Chapter 212: Awakening Potentials

Chapter 212: Awakening Potentials

The bond that Clark had felt as if it had electrified. The impulse of energy that he was unable to understand was causing his body to feel weak. It was not a bad feeling though, it was as if his very bones were being tempered by a hammer full of lightning.

When he fell to one knee trying to process this, Maria was quick to check all his wounds, "I am fine. It's just that the energy Crim is…it's a lot." His voice was shaky too, bringing more frown lines to Maria's soft facial features than there should be.

"This is a change that is unexpected. The lightning addition must be a great change in the typing. It also brings more to the theory of origination. Slime dragons could use a lot more research. If we have a chance, we should get more ancient dragon bones to attempt the creation of more slime dragon eggs." Ella had watched every change in Clark and Crim as things progressed.

"It would be too expensive. We can not even afford a little wing bone of a baby dragon from an ancient dragon dungeon. They are too expensive. If we tried to get any we would be eaten in a second by beasts much stronger than us." Isa wasn't trying to dash Ella's hopes but this was just the facts of life.

The egg shape that Crim had taken on suddenly flattened out before Crim began to reform his body. The yellowish white boned that formed within the clear red and orange slime was matching the additional lightning elemental energy within Crim. There were extremely sharp teeth that lined his jaws before the slime darkened in to a shiny red and yellow set of dragon scales.

Crim's size had become larger and Clark was waiting to see what the system had to say now, he couldn't hold back looking at the analysis as he pushed himself back on his two feet.

'Slime Dragon (young)- Legendary

This is an extremely rare, nearly mythical, slime dragon hatchling that had fully awakened the elemental typing of its birth. The lightning elemental energy is the fusion of water, fire, and wind that its birth material was able to host in life. The slight undead typing is fading as it becomes stronger and more filled with energies other than this.

The dragon typing has increased significantly through lightning purification.

There is a chance that this slime dragon can become more powerful than before. Most likely growing to become a mythical beast within five years. With the proper dragon and lightning growth materials, there is a high chance to accelerate growth in to a young adult slime dragon.

Currently, the skill, body size control, has been learned completely. This allows the slime dragon to shrink itself or return to a larger size based on the energy expended. It is also able to use static breath, a lightning paralysis breath along with lightning scales, a defensive skill that uses lightning to wrap its body temporarily.

The skill lightning rain is able to be learned through major consumption of lightning materials over time. This skill is destructive to both the slime dragon and all that surrounds it. The tamer of the slime dragon also gains massive benefits from the lightning typing. Specifically a boost in lightning resistance…'

So many things were moving through Clark's mind as Crim moved closer to him. His different scales and slightly larger size made all of them feel the strength that Crim now possessed. Even Devi stirred in the edens end taming space feeling that lightning had somehow begun to rumble within. It was proof of the bond between Clark and Crim strengthening.

"Crimson, you're a little more yellow and orange than red now. But you are going to be much stronger." A soft but happy growl came in response to Clark's pat on Crim's head. It seemed that Crim needed to rest much longer after being put through the absorption of lightning. The awakening of his true elemental potential.

"Take a good rest and start to understand the changes in your body." Crim melted in to the air to rejoin Devi in the taming space.

"I don't understand. We come here so all of us get stronger and instead, Clark gets a major boost in strength. It's pretty plain to see that the goddess of luck is literally waiting to throw things at you." Isa was a firm believer in the many gods and goddesses from stories that related to being a merchant. Who wouldn't? But it did seem like an outside force was giving Clark more and more.

"Isa, can we sell these mushrooms?" Ella knew well that she had found other materials for them to use but wanted to distract Isa. Naturally, Isa caught on to this but still moved to check out the mushrooms that Ella had spotted on the fallen log.

"Those are red tinged oyster mushrooms. They are more poisonous than the version that grows outside a dungeon. They can't be eaten by humans but can be eaten by poison and earth type beasts. Good find!" Maria was quick to watch Isa because she had put on gloves to handle the mushrooms and make two piles. One for Lit and one to sell later.

"The more materials we get on the way out the better." Clark knew that Maria wanted to get him outside to rest and be healed more. But he also knew that they had to make this trip even more worth it. Being able to harvest these mushrooms and a few other things was ideal.

"Alright, now I am lost." Isa suddenly stopped as she searched the log she had been harvesting mushrooms from. She pointed out the inside that had begun to rot away. However, it was not that the inside of the log had rotted that caught her off guard. It was the black mold that had grown in clumps that caught her off guard.

'Shadow mold- rare

The shadow mold is a type of mold that grows only in the dark. It consumes rotting plant materials while gathering decaying energy and shadow energy. It is a rare mold that some people gather and use to help break down food waste. It is normally useless since many beasts can not absorb its energy due to the shadow energy within.

It can be useful for beasts in small amounts if they are strengthening their resistance to poisons.'

"Let's gather it. I assume that it can be used for Clark's egg." Maria heard the words that Clark spoke about the mold. He had read most of what the system had given him out loud. It was normal for them to hear this sort of random outburst from him now. Clark was basically a walking bestiary or material manual.

"Thank you." Clark stored the mold away after Isa had gathered it in a glass container she carried.

"And now we really need to get out of here. We have definitely gotten close to overstaying our welcome." Isa was sure that they had been in the dungeon for close to a full day. Based on how they all looked and felt, with a general feeling of time passing made her think this.

The rain had thankfully stopped when the lightning subsided. The pathways were still muddy but luckily, there was a clear way out of the dungeon. The guards that saw the group leaving were not surprised to see some injuries. What they were more impressed about was the fact that all four of the team members leaving appeared to be in high spirits regardless of their injuries.

Isa and Ella had sustained the smallest wounds. Their battle styles did not keep them too close to a beast therefore they were able to avoid the wide attacks of the orcs. Maria had taken some cuts and scrapes from the roots of the large tree due to the running around she had to do. Her agility and coordination could use some training to match one another.

The wounds that Clark had were being bolstered by a healing potion. This helped them heal even though he was not being actively healed by a skill. The tingling feeling in his skin also proved that the lightning energy from Crim was still working on him.

"Should we just all go to our rooms?" Ella wasn't sure if it was wise for them to separate. They had some unique injuries, especially Clark. It just seemed logical that they keep track of one another.

"We can all go to one of my family's homes nearby. It is always open to myself or any of you. It shouldn't be used right now because it is only opened up when the season for certain fruits requires our employees to rest there." Isa made a move toward a large row of homes the moment they had gotten inside the walls of the city again.

Now one was going to argue with a place that could give them a bath sooner. The desire to shake the chilling rain and mud from their bodies was much greater than any complaints they could possibly have.
