Chapter 203: Alchemy
Chapter 203: Alchemy
"You really think that my steel clawed hawk can become a molten hawk!?" The little brother of the fox tamer was overjoyed. She had already started to idolize Clark because he had a dragon but now it was even more dramatic.
"Just follow this plan to the letter and you should discover your hawk's potential. Remember, every single steel clawed hawk has the potential. What makes it change growth direction are the materials, the training you give it, and your bond. Keep all of that in mind while you work together with it. Then it can awaken the dormant dual elemental nature of metal and fire."
The crowd that had become enamored by Clark's show of evaluation were touched that he would even take the time to help a child. Something like that showed the professionalism and kindness that Clark possessed along with how the business would run.
Meanwhile, Clark was thinking back to how he saw circus performers or showmen in his previous life and world. They always presented things with flair. He had to do the same. The people here were always focused on taming and their growth. Now he would be able to draw them in with proper entertainment that would show them all a new way to enjoy the changes in the world.
"Can you prepare material solutions as well!?" Someone in the crowd called out as soon as Clark was sending off the fox tamer and her little brother. The challenge sounded like it came from someone that was worried instead of someone that was trying to harm them. This made Clark more interested.
"Come on over and show us what you have. We have some experience and an older student with us that might know better about combining materials. If not, we have connections with a top professor." Isa was shameless. She would use Doc if she had to so that their business went well.
A young man who appeared to be just old enough to think about taking the Nova academy exam rushed up. In his hands were a small black and white dog while he had parts of a few materials.
'Blood hound- uncommon (energy deficiency)
This young blood hounds recently reached an ideal growth period. It has the chance to awaken the wind and earth affinity that make it the ideal tracking hound. However, it has been given materials that lacked the necessary energies. Now it requires a special mixed material medicine. The process to create the…'
"Hmm, and you bought these materials where?" Clark asked the question with more serious than the crowd had seen as of yet. This brought an ominous air to the entire area. The thing was, that the crowd couldn't think why this was the first question and not the immediate health of the best.
"What about me…I just got them from the walking bear shop over there.'' The boy was going to argue but then decided that answering the strange question would just make it all move faster.
"Then you should call for the guards. That wind stripe grass has been stored improperly, the energy is half that it should be. That earth crystal has small cracks that caused it to lose almost all the energy. And lastly, that entire bag of dust rabbit bones are not all set rabbit bones. Some of them are common chicken bones!"
Clark showed some anger. He was sure that the shop had cut corners causing less energy to be in the materials. This, in turn, caused the blood hound to become ill. Energy deficiency could completely ruin a beast's potential during its growth period.
"The walking bear shop has not only sold you poor goods but those goods caused this boy's hound to fail in its growth. But I will fix this. Maria, Isa, Ella, get the fire pot and some water." Clark threw on thick water proof gloves and watched as Maria and Ella set up the fire pit. It was a simple tool made with fire crystals and special runes.
It was able to self heat with the energy in the crystals until the crystals were exhausted.
"Isa, start adding that grass as the water heats up. I need to hold the proper bones in the water to diffuse their energy in to the liquid we are billing. Ella will be able to shatter the earth crystal in to dust. Then we will sprinkle it slowly in to the water."
The world that Calrk was doing was that of an alchemist. No one had expected to see such a show of brilliant skills. On top of this, Clark had not shown off alchemy skills to his group. They had used these tools as a show but not actual learning. Only Ella had some skill in using these tools. Even then, she would not risk creating something without Doc there to watch her.
"I will combine these. Let's activate the hot pot to boil the water in to a thick paste. The energies within will be forced to dwell within the paste. Then we will cover the blood hound in it. We should be able to reverse the damage by adding one of our earth crystals inside its mouth." Clark was using alchemy skills and also showing off methods that only research experts would be comfortable using.
It was enough to surprise everyone to a whole new level.
Seeing that everything Clark was saying was coming to be was enough for the crowd to understand his unknown depth of knowledge. The bloodhound was soon covered in a paste of materials and gladly accepted the earth crystal in to its mouth to gather the energy. The result was exactly as Clark said as well.
The built up elemental energies within the blood hound are fully activated. Instead of lacking energy it suddenly had more than enough to grow. There were small cracks as the paste dried out and flaked off. The blood hound was clearly growing in size, catching up to where it should be in its growth.
Everyone was astounded to see a growth that shouldn't have been possible due to the illness the blood hound had gained.
"It's hard to say that your blood hound is perfectly healed. You should give it three days to rest at least. But because of this hardship., you may have the chance to grow this little blood hound in to a tempered hound. It's when the wind and earth elemental energies strengthen its body. It will be good at tracking and hunting." Clark looked a little extra tired and sweaty.
This was from his alchemy work.
"Thank you! Thank you so much!" The young boy practically threw the coins he had in his pocket at Clark before scooping up his beast. The guards had already arrived to see the situation. Even better, the owner of the walking bear shop had been drawn to the crowd. They had inadvertently walked right in to his arrest.
"That was spectacular. Did you see how the crowd watched in amazement!? I even have gift that some gave for being able to watch this." Isa was silently thanking the goddess of luck for her smile on them today. Such a situation and newfound skill was a lot to handle.
"It wasn't much. I just used what I have read and stuck to it. Sometimes learning about other things ahead of time is good." This was a bluff but enough for them to realize that it was the first time that Clark had done alchemy. Enough for them to be distracted from where he might have gained the knowledge.
"You didn't know how to do that beforehand?" Maria was grabbing Clark's arm in awe. She had seen the process and given such clear instructions to them. It was very impressive.
"I will record the results and process. It can be used in the future for us or sold to others. We may not be beast physicians, however, having the ability will greatly increase my research." Ella was prepared to ask Clark for many things. The process of material fusion through alchemy would make things move much smoother for them in the future. Especially when they had a tougher beast to raise.
"I definitely feel really tired now though." Clark was feeling the effects of what he had just done. He had no real knowledge of alchemy and had not understood that alchemy uses the person's energy through the process. That was why the materials were able to react and combine in to things.
"You need to rest then. Who cares about making more money? We did enough today." The crowd understood that these were still just students. Some of them also understood that they had just witnessed a genius growing before their eyes. Even more so, that they had just witnessed someone who the rumors already held in focus.
"You can show off more of that tomorrow," Maria whispered to Clark while Isa was telling the crowd that they were glad for the attention and praise. Now they were going to be backing up for the day to enjoy the festivities.
