Chapter 191: Attack Beast and Defense Beast

Reaching the area set up for the fourth year battles and as a growth plan lab for beasts was impressive, to say the least. The seats set up for higher ranking members of the city to rest were of the highest quality. There were also multiple beasts around providing defensive barriers so that the spectators would be safe while watching intense fighting.

The platform set up for the beasts to stand on was ideal for a researcher to walk around easily. "I see that you spared absolutely no effort here. It looks wonderful." The star city lord was acting with great respect. He had always been impressed by Nova academy. However, he was sure that they had gone the extra mile this time.

"Of course, we have given it our all. You have managed to assist our brightest young students in their efforts to grow. This is but a small token of appreciation." The headmaster knew exactly how to work a crowd and win points.

"That is also why I sent my daughter to Nova academy. She was able to become a fine young warrior with her beast beside her every step of the way." The aura of strength that radiated off from General Mane as he came to meet the Star city lord was intense. Not a single person even whispered about him.

"Clark, It's nice to see you as well." The simple words were under General Mane's breath. However, it was just loud enough for the star city lord and Clark to hear. Enough to show that there was a connection to an important figure such as the Star city lord.

"Ah, you are the first general here. I was hoping that more would be here. Especially that General Green. I hear that she has made great progress as of late in her dungeon explorations." Without even a single breath, another commotion was made as people moved out of the way for a slim but powerful female to walk through the arena entrance.

"Speaking of the devil. General Green, I have waited to see you as well." The star City lord extended a hand and shook General Green's hand. Clark could see the similarities between general Green and Ella. They shared similar cheekbones but the only difference was the stark white hair that General Green possessed.

"I would not miss it. I needed a break from exploring the family dungeon. I have discovered another beast there that greatly interests me. I even have an egg with me to challenge the little ones today. I can't have my daughter having it too easy now." The slight laugh was for show.

"I take it this is normal?" Clark whispered to Ella who nodded in response.

"My parents enjoy challenging us. For me, it has been beasts, for my brother it's battle. And for others…well, sometimes it's survival trips." Ella shivered a little. The Green family was unique. Even more so when it was taken in to account that they all had unique talents and as a general, Ella's mother was still not using her best skills. She excelled elsewhere in talents.

"You wouldn't begin without me. Would you? I only had a small matter to handle before I came here to see you." The sudden pressure from the grave words made the entire arena feel colder. More dangerous.

The large man that walked in was wearing armor that seems to be carved out of screaming faces. The detail was terrifying. It was surely a battle armor made to force weak opponents to flee or freeze in place.

"And General Mane. That is three. I already know that your last general will be unable to attend. I would not ask that you abandon the dangers of your dungeons just to see me." The star city lord knew well that having one or two powerhouses set aside to defend the city was a requirement of general safety. He would do the same.

"General Listell can handle the dungeons alone. I would clean them better. He is just an old man getting older by the day. He would do well to have an heir sooner than later take over for him." The tone that general Mourne kept made everyone flinch slightly. Even Clark felt that his words were a knife attacking others.

"Now that our important guests are all together, I believe that Our visitor came to have our students set up a beast plan for his children. I Have Been very excited to see what our head of research has been teaching them." The headmaster knew that it was best to keep things simple. He had to keep everyone from fighting with their words, or worse.

"A good idea. I can see that Ronald and Jonathan are getting very anxious." The star city lord walked toward the pedestal and looked over at Clark, Isa, Ella, and Maria. "I am glad to be seeing your four again. This is my older son Ronald, he likes to be called Ron. This is my younger son Jonathan, he likes to be called John."

"They were born a year and a half apart but are inseparable brothers. As such, you will find that their spirit beasts match each other's weaknesses. They are a perfect team in mischief and I hope battle." The two beasts that crawled off the shoulders of the two boys were exactly as the city lord had said. Perfect coverage for their weaknesses.

"We will begin our work for them immediately with that in mind. Please watch as we begin the evaluation." Isa took the lead with perfect respect. She was not going to let such a good chance slip by them. This was a once in a life time opportunity to make themselves known far and wide.

"Clark, you can take a look. Maria, record what you can. Ella, your sketches can start while I continue to ask their tamers about the style they wish to pursue in battle." Isa was going to be sure that she passed on relevant information to Clark as needed. In turn, Clark was free to take a proper look at the two beasts before him.

'Armored earth lizard- rare

The armored earth lizard is not a very rare beast. However, it is able to grow in to one of the toughest earth affinity lizards recorded. They have tough plating that grows like armor around their bodies. It is both highly resistant to physical and magical attacks. This is also followed by spiritual attacks as well.

The main weakness is that it will shed its armor once a year to grow new and tougher armor. The best way to prevent any damage during this process is to completely encapsulate the lizard in soft dirt.

The best materials to consume for optimal growth would be prickling silver. It will allow the ultra rare growth in to a smaller bipedal species known as the silver dragonkin. The other material needed can be blood from any dragon species no matter how weak. The resulting species…'

Clark looked over at the other beast after giving Maria all the details. He knew that he would need to explain a lot more than usual in even better terminology.

'Needle hide lizard- rare

The needle hide lizard is exactly as it sounds. A lizard that focuses on growing very sharp spine from its body to fire and stab at prey. It is very offensive and lacks defensive power. However, it can easily cut in to the toughest armors.

The best materials to grow it in to an optimal species are great wasp venom, reclusive thorns, and the blood of any demonic beast. This will allow it to grow in to the demon spear lizard. This lizard species is ultra rare and can boast extremely devastating poisonous piercing attacks. The only weakness is that it has a very offensive nature which leads it to charge in to battles.

The best training methods…'

"These two beasts are just as you said. Ideal for attacking and defending. However, I believe that the growth plans we have will bring that to an extreme. Having the basic growth would be a waste of your stature and their future. Therefore, we have prepared two unique growth plans. They can even be carried out now."

Isa took the documents from Maria and handed them over to the two boys. They had stunned looks and rushed to their father. "Hmm, and you want this? Your beast would have a very bad temper and become purely offensive in battle. And you would have to constantly keep up with your beast's training in toughness. Will you be able to handle that?"

The Star city lord waited to see what his children said. He would not let them make rash decisions. "Yes, father!" The unified agreement was all that the star city lord needed to hear.

"Then if you can help these two beasts grow in to their next unique forms I will be very impressed. Please show us now!" The shout was not one of disbelief but one of excitement. The star city lord had been captured by the desire to see something unique. Something he wouldn't ever see in his average life as a lord reigning over a city.
