Chapter 190: Lord's Arrival

"That was pretty impressive. I would say he learned a lesson about underestimating someone he had beaten before." Clark was the first to meet Ella as she left the arena. She had been sure to plan her battle ahead of time and remembered the tactic used to beat her.

"Reese has a very unique beast. It may not be the rarest or the strongest built it has decent battle tactics that rely on the mind. He is one of the few beasts that try to put themselves at the front of the battle." Ella had praised for him because of the unique way that Reese fought. But that was all.

"It was more than impressive. I would not have known who to attack with those illusions. And the one that appeared behind you!" Maria was already gushing. She had so much she wanted to ask Ella about because she had heard the two speaking while on the arena.

The praise was getting to Ella as she began to turn red. Isa had even started to praise her a little. "So, I met an interesting boy that had a poleaxe and a striped bear. He said he was a part of the branch family. Seemed to have quite the impression of you. Something about wanting to make sure you were in the right company or whatever." Clark glanced at Ella.

"Those that join the family and are not related to us may have certain feelings that do not follow the same research and scientific theories I believe in. My family is very diverse so I can not say what they truly follow when it comes to ethics. If you want, I can speak to my parents about it." Ella didn't speak as if this was a question.

More like a statement that she would do so if Clark wanted her to.

"No, just thought you should know that you have an admirer that is letting his mind run wild with emotions." It wasn't hard to see that Ella was blushing a little more than before when Clark mentioned this. It seemed that the boy he had met may have been overprotective, however, he had managed to get some attention from Ella regardless.

"Stop bothering Ella with weird stuff. We have to get moving." Isa pushed Clark out of the stands where they had been watching Ella battle. They had to get back to Doc and Alexander who would surely reprimand them if they were late for the preparations.

The rush back to the lab presented the group with a few curiosities. They could see the many things that were being moved from the research areas along with a few beast eggs. This made it appear that more than just materials would be shown off to the Star city lord. It also showed that there may be more to a visit than what the four of them knew.,

"Good, you are here. Change your clothes and be sure that you are cleaned up. Use the shower in my lab. We have them set up with purified water crystals so that you can better ensure the safety of the materials you work with.

Only five laboratories have them because they require a lot of energy to create." Clark wondered just who had invented such a thing but was pushed away too fast to maintain the thought.

"Where are they!?" Alexander interrupted their rushed getting ready after half an hour. He managed to find Clark first since the girls were still locked in Doc's lab trying to prepare. "We need to get you moving now. The road proved to be easier to travel than expected due to the powerhouse tamers he has brought along."

The sudden change in schedule meant that there was less time to prepare than expected. The moment that the girls had finished changing, they were pushed in to a carriage and rushed toward the front gates.

The professors that had lined up with the headmaster were the top professors of each year. Clark was not surprised at all to see his elite class professor Wright. She was definitely a more powerful tamer than she appeared to be at first. The way she was able to casually move through a class of elite students that could cause issues with their inexperience proved this time and time again.

"It's nice to see you doing well. Even with some of your sneaking around." The gatekeeper that Clark had first met when he came to the academy was standing at the front waiting to open the large entrance set aside for these such visits. He had a small smirk proving that he more than knew what had gone on when Clark had changed clothes to be anonymous outside of the academy.

"I am glad you are doing well." He had to be polite. The man had a unique beast that could easily trick him. Clark had yet to learn how to differentiate a doppelganger in disguise from a normal person or another beast. Overall, it was something he worried about going forward in life. There was always the chance that he would meet another tamer with one somewhere along the line.

"This is Nova academy. State your business here." The gatekeeper straightened his back and waited for the train of carriages to respond. This wasn't an insult but a common tradition. Anyone that visited must state their business to the gatekeeper. The only ones that were surprised were the four students in the group who were not privy to this.

"Don't look so confused. The family that has kept these gates have done so for years. It is very serious to them when it comes to protecting the grounds of the academy." Alexander calmed them down as the response was given to the gatekeeper.

"Then As gatekeeper, I welcome the Star city lord to this place of knowledge. May you see the future within each student!" The gate rose on the gatekeeper's words. Before anyone could say anything else, the gatekeeper had disappeared from sight. It was enough to prove that he was stronger than most in the academy.

Without any hesitation, the second carriage opened and the familiar face of the Star city lord greeted them. He was all smiles as he stepped toward the headmaster. "It has been some years since I came to visit the city and this academy. I have to say, it looks very well!"

"Thank you very much. We do try to keep things in order. I was very surprised to hear that you had met four of our bright students. They even inspired you to come here earlier than your planned trip." The headmaster was keeping up appearances.

"Well, I couldn't just hold myself back. We had some small problems that I solved so that I could come here in advance. With my toughest tamers in control I don't need to worry. It also means that my two sons and daughter can have their beasts' growth plans sooner. I wanted to see what your little geniuses could do."

"Of course, we have an arena set up for you to witness the outcomes. I have heard that your daughter has a very unique beast compared to those in your Star city." The two began a lively chat about things as the carriages began to follow the group. They were walking all the way to the arena that had been set up for the growth plan and analysis of beasts.

"While you are here, please let your guards know that they can enjoy a beast analysis as well. This would be the ideal challenge for all years of our research and beast development classes. Our doctor has personally requested that you give them all a challenge."

"I should have expected such courtesy. I believe your head of research professor has a sister in the Star academy. If he is even half of what she is, then I expect his students to match that or even top what she can do." This was perfect, the atmosphere was bright and many people were already attracted to the situation.

Unknown to the group, many students had come to the arena to see what was going on. This was also due to the fact that the days' fourth year matches had been moved to the same time as the beast evaluations. The simple reason being to show off to the star city Lord.

"I have been waiting to see your four again. It was a fortuitous encounter when you were suggested to me. Now I get to see what you are all working on here. A great excuse to stretch my legs." The Star city lord ensured that he would be able to speak with the four before they had to move to their own business.

"I brought my children with me. I hope that you can guide them well. Even if they can be a little stubborn." As if they were signaled, two shorter young boys jumped from the carriage along with a taller young woman following them. The Star city lord's children had arrived.
