Chapter 183: Visitor Incoming

"Where have you been!? Class? That's not as important as this!" Doc was waiting for them outside their lab. The group was taken back by the sudden energy that Doc had. He was holding a letter and the look on his face was extremely serious.

"Did you forget to mention that the lord of Star city had sent you a letter that they would be arriving? My sister just told me that he had pulled ten of the powerhouses from his city out of dungeons to eradicate the beasts that broke from the dungeons. He even pulled three from retirement!"

This seemed to be a lot bigger of a deal than Clark had expected. "That means that they are coming here. Those he leaves behind will guard and continue to handle the situation there. Not that it has much to handle since the powerhouses can easily deal with a dungeon break triple the size."

Doc looked at them again seriously making sure that they were all absorbing his words. "Those That come as his guard wish to see Nova academy, meet the generals of our city, and see you. It's in a letter sent to the city generals and the headmaster of our academy." Doc was suddenly exhausted. It seemed that the build up annoyance had faded leaving him without energy.

Isa took the letters that they had received and handed the one from the Star city lord to Doc. he read it carefully before handing it back to her. "You will have to help us prepare. You also have your class battles, and the four students that came looking for you. That girl with the gem cat had friends."

"Wait, what else do we need to do?" Clark saw Doc walking away towards his personal lab.

"I will begin to prepare what I can. You won't be helping them in this or your lab. We have to set up an arena venue so that the generals that wish to attend can see what you do. This is a very important thing. When city lords visit other cities it is a political event. Go and find better outfits as well.

Alexander should be here soon. He is already planning."

"Is this a bigger deal than I thought?" Maria understood that they had all underestimated what a lord wanting to visit meant. They had let it roll off their shoulders because they just thought helping with a few growth plans was a small thing. They were, understandably, wrong.

"We were naive. I did not expect this to happen despite my theories." Ella also felt that she had not looked at the situation from the right angle. She was used to coming up with different theories based on what she had going on. Unfortunately, the perspective she took was as a researcher and not one of a prominent figure of a city.

"Then we shoul-"

"Stop there. I have been dragged here and there all morning since that letter arrived. You have caused me a lot of annoyance. Now let's get the four of you new uniforms. I try to mentor one student, that turns in to two, and now Doc and I are forced to mentor four at once! What trouble." Alexander was in crabby old man mode.

He had preferred his silent retirement to the highest degree.

"This wasn't the plan when we-"

"I know it was not your plan. Who plans on impressing a city lord with multiple beasts that could fight a city alone? Now get moving. The four of you have a lot to do." Alexander had them moving at a quick pace that seemed faster than he was capable of. Alexander clearly hid what he was truly capable of at his age.

They were guided to the main building again where all the professors had offices. The building was full of commotion. Many professors rushing here and there to prepare for a large visit.

"You will be there to welcome the Star city lord when he arrives at the Nova academy gates. We will bring him to the arena so that he may see the battles going on and so that he can have his beasts appraised. Not only will you four be there to appraise his beasts but so will the fourth year students and Doc himself. That is to keep everything perfect."

"So that is to protect the academy if we are wrong and also so we can show respect by bringing the best and brightest students?" Isa saw that this was more than just saying they need additional support.

"Yes, you will have some back up. Ella is already considered a genius of the Green family. That helps. Clark has much less known about him. Maria is also unknown for knowledge. You have the Rolly family to back you up.

That is enough." Alexander knew that they would need more backing.

Maria was in deep thought as they reached a side room with multiple tailors that were working with their beasts on uniforms. "These are the tailors that work exclusively with the academy. They have the best beasts for the job. They will make you dress uniforms for this event."

'Golden silkworm- ultra rare

This beast is one of the rarest types of silkworm beasts. They are hard to nurture and have absolutely zero growth potential. Yet they still produce the most beautiful silk known to the world. They lack combat ability but can imbue different energies within their silk.

Their value is second to none when it comes to delicate work. Their bonds with their tamer shape the way that they work. "Hello, please allow my assistant to measure you quickly. I will create silk with my four partners here to make your uniforms. I will focus on your energies so that you can gather the energies with ease during the presentations you will perform."

"These uniforms will decay within one month and lose the energy imbued within them. That is the cost of what we are doing. Normally the quality of the silk would take three months to make. Forcing the process comes with this decaying drawback. Now come here." The tailor was pushing them here and there. It was a rushed but very professional job.

"After this is finished we will visit the headmaster. He will speak with you so that you understand the standards we are imposing. Then you four will be free to handle your personal battles. I believe that Ella does not have any. You will instead research all possible beasts that can be brought here for your growth plans. You will be responsible for telling your fellow students what you find."

These were to be expected things. Clark's ability was supposedly based on what he had learned in the library. He had to maintain this facade to keep himself covered. It was also important that they were all feeling prepared for whatever may come. Alexander would not allow for them to fail here. He was getting everything they needed for this meeting of the city lords, headmasters, and generals.
