Spirit Taming

Chapter 169: Glowing Crystals

Chapter 169: Glowing Crystals

Crim and Devi helped Clark calm himself. The sudden clearing of his soul when the energy had flowed through him and out of the edens end taming space was a little shocking. It caused Clark to be unsteady on his feet and struggle to remain standing for a moment.

'The host has cleared the hidden quest; step toward the divine.

The host has taken an advanced move ahead by channeling the energy within the edan's end taming space while their body was tempered by battle. They had cleared the mental walls that most tamers struggle with for years.

Reward: Beast egg.

The reward has been settled in to the eden's end taming space, skeletal forest location outside the eternal graveyard. Please examine at your leisure.'

This reward for making a step that Clark had not even realized was that important stopped him completely. He was having a hard time processing what had just happened, let alone the reward he had been given.

"I don't think I need another beast…" Having another beast would mean he needed more materials. Focusing On Devi and Crim was already hard enough. The dragon materials he got were very rare items that took time to gather. The materials for Devi were even rarer since Clark was focusing on the death energies to improve Devi's growth.

Even more, Clark was confused about how he had taken a step toward the divine. The description didn't seem to point toward any divine being or energy. Therefore, he was lost as to what the system meant. Unfortunately, the more he tried to ask the system, the more he received silence. The system would not budge and give him information for free.

Looking within himself at the eden's end taming space, Clark could see the new space. The dark trees he had been able to see before had become lit up. A forest of bone white trees appeared. The system had hidden the true appearance of this forest of skeletal trees. Something that Clark had not brought in to the taming space as a material.

Cuddled in a next of broken skeletal tree branches was a simple black egg. There was nothing that Clark could say made it stand out other than its color against the white skeletal tree branches. Even the ground was a dirty brown compared to the pure black.

'Beast Egg- unknown

The beast egg had been rewarded for completing a hidden quest. The host is not allowed to see what the beast egg contains. The host must discover the energies needed to hatch this egg themselves. Once the host meets certain requirements, more information will be allowed.'

"So stingy!" Clark was very annoyed reading this. He had no idea what could possibly hatch from this beast egg that he felt a connection with. He had not even been given the option of whether he desired to be bound to it or not.

Feeling Devi and Crim's curiosity, Clark almost let them return to the taming space to explore things. However, he still had to worry about the task at hand. The sounds of stone and rumbling was still coming from down the tunnel. Clark knew that something much more powerful was ahead.

"Let's gather these rock golem cores first." The cores were going to be a great item to sell to blacksmiths. Many of the weapons made from them would be earth elemental in nature. This made them ideal for a slew of people that could use earth affinity skills.

The total was only fifteen usable rock golem cores. That was a good win though. Clark could have only found five and he would be just as happy. He had a new idea of how to step forward in his training. The system had seen it worthwhile to reward him for naturally channeling energy from the taming space to his own body.

Most tamers would gain energy from their beasts. However, they would bring energy in to their taming space and not take it. This made Clark realize that it was another characteristic of a unique taming space. Being able to take energy from it and use it was a thing that not everyone would be able to do. That wouldn't stop him from sharing it with Maria though. Anything to get stronger.

After another deep breath, Clark started to move. He could feel that his body had taken some strain after using the death energy with his own moves. But the dragon energy that he had absorbed seemed to have helped open his body's veins to better supply nutrients to his muscles. It was a hard feeling to describe.

However, if Clark had to it would be that his body had opened itself up from a blockage that had been there his whole entire life.

"The cave gets a little smaller, be ready you two. I have no idea what is ahead." It was definitely the strongest golem here but Clark didn't know what they would be. He had not been through this dungeon before and lacked the knowledge to understand every detail.

Creeping through the cave, Clark saw that the tunnel had started to change. It was moving downwards and had many more glowing crystals. The strange part was that some of them had started to give descriptions.

'Glow stone- uncommon

The glow stone crystals are a unique stones found in dungeons. They have absorbed small amounts of unique light elemental energies. This makes them glow in crystal form when exposed to pure darkness. They are a unique material for certain beasts. They have almost no other use than a fire safe lantern.'

"So not useless." Clark started to use his spear to crack the small bits of glowstone crystals off the walls. He stored them away as he moved. The soft sound of cracking was not enough to attract the attention of whatever was ahead.

Just as Clark had expected, the three of them came to another chamber. This one looked much rougher. There were many piles of glowstone crystals, rocks, and even pebbles. This had been a massive fighting area for the golem type beasts. What stopped Clark from entering the room immediately was the larger shape that was digging in to the ground toward the back of the chamber.

The chamber that no longer had any other tunnels leading off of it.

The hole that the golem had dug had a glimmer of glowstone crystals. However, they were different. "Those have to be better. Let's see what the system says."

'Perfect Glow Crystal- Ultra rare

The perfect glow crystal is a perfect fusion of light and earth elemental energies. They are ideal for creating a unique Crystal golem. They are the core material needed for the crystal golem to develop a secondary affinity for light elemental energy. Without it, a crystal golem is nearly impossible to grow.'

"And that will be the best material I can get from this place." Clark smirked while he looked back at the golem.

'Semi crystal golem- rare

The semi crystal golem is a golem that has consumed a great deal of glowstone crystals. It lacks the base material to fully form a crystal core and is close to a breakthrough. It is tougher than rock golems but still too slow. Some of the weak points have been filled with crystal to defend better.

They are still strong in sensing the energies around them causing them to be hard to sneak up on. They do have a major weakness for energy draining attacks due to the weaker core that they have yet to develop. The best material…'

"Devi, Crim and I will distract it. You need to bite it and drain as much energy from it as possible. It is still weak enough that we can beat it. just be at the ready to retreat from any attack." The careful warnings would be all Crim and Devi needed to begin their attack. Clark didn't hesitate at all either.

The three's careful movements were quickly sensed by the semi crystal golem. It started to rise higher than any of the other golems had. Its body much more filled put and even sharp looking due to crystal growth. From what Clark could see, it had almost zero open spots to strike with his spear. Luckily, these were not where he desired to get the golem.

The points that Clark did pick up on would be ideal for targeting the joints of the golem. If Clark and Crim could hit these weak points then they had a chance to break off an arm or other places and weaken the golem while Devi attacked over and over with his chilling bite. The stone and crystals may harm Devi's teeth but the energies he gained back would heal him making it all worthwhile.

There was also the semi crystal golem core that they would gain.

This unique material would certainly be rare or ultra rare. Perfect for selling at a high profit. Just more funds for their growth. "Go!" Clark pushed forward. Him and Crim distracting the semi crystal golem on opposite sides.
