Chapter 158: Catch A Crowd
Chapter 158: Catch A Crowd
"Umm, you didn't leave Lit behind somewhere…did you?" Isa noticed that Lit was missing as soon as Clark and Maria had entered the inn. They had come just as Ella was reviewing some notes with Isa.
"You noticed pretty fast. But I can't bring Lit out right away. She is trying to get used to the spiritual sea taming space I opened." The casual explanation sounded as if it was something common. Opening a taming space was just an easy thing that everyone could do. A unique taming space? Just a common occurrence.
"Taming space? What space? How? When? Explain the materials used. I need to know how they will influence the growth of your princess jellyfish.
You already have a beast in an unprecedented mid growth point. One that is outside the normal flow of growth for a glow sting jellyfish. What does it look like when you look in to your taming space? Is it free for you to explore or are there mental blocks? Is it-"
"Alright! That is that. Maria needs to let it settle for a day or so. That means you can wait to hear what she has to say. You know the dangers of forcing these things." Clark stepped in front of Ella while the questions seemed to build up even more.
"I will record everything when you are ready then." Ella caught herself once Clark had stopped her. She had let herself get too excited to research something new. But that was exactly the attitude that made her a genius. She was able to have such intensity that many things became clear to her eyes which were hidden to others.
"By the way, you also haven't explained your taming space to me and Ella. you should do that later too." Clark had avoided it because he didn't want to give away too much. Unfortunately, he could tell that Ella had a much more in depth understanding of the different levels of taming spaces.
"I will tonight after we go out and make some money. Sound good?" Clark knew he would not avoid it so he committed to it. This was easier.
"We need to head to the area of the market where beast eggs and beasts are sold. They have a section where some beast growth experts try and sell their skills." Isa had instantly jumped in to her business mode. While Clark and Maria had been out for a few hours, Isa had been hard at work.
"From what I was able to learn from the innkeeper, there are a lot of people that try to do this in the market but most are frauds or lack the knowledge. Those that can do it are already under the stronger merchants or families in Star City. But they rely more on openness of business here than our city does.
So it's all about finding the connections to have your beast growth plan made." The difference made it easier for their group to also go out and make a little money.
"So we can set up a space and start evaluating beasts. Then we offer growth material knowledge and training written by Ella and Maria as the product. Let's do this." Clark felt that this was an even better chance to bolster their funds. The materials he would need would certainly cost a lot. Especially since he wanted to have a unique spear made from the abyssal iron he had in his spatial ring.
The difference in the market area was great. There were many people moving around and the group even spotted a few of their classmates taking a look at beasts. It was much harder to tame a beast that had already hatched. However, it was not unheard of.
The beasts that were already hatched or grown to high levels of their life required more attention. They also required special materials or even a magic rune contract that could bond the tamer's soul and the beast. Some people would never do this because of the additional cost.
Some people would go out of their way to tame beasts like this. A young tamer from a rich family could easily get an older and stronger beast that could defend them. That was why some people would take the risk of securing their connection with a beast to pass it down to a child. Unfortunately, there were always risks with this.
There was a massive strain on the tamer's soul if the beast was well above their strength. The energy coming from the beast could harm their body instead of nourishing it. Even worse, the beast could take dominance over the tamer and ignore their orders. The other risks were also there if someone looked in to it deeper.
"That spot should be good!" Isa found a spot that someone had just left. The people walking away looked like someone had just crushed their dreams. "It's a failed competitor so we have perfect timing." Isa wanted to emphasize on those that had been drawn to the group kicked away by customers. If they jumped in quickly, the small crowd could be roped in easily.
"Welcome welcome welcome! You have seen the failures of beast growth plans, but that all ends today. We have come from Nova academy to see your beautiful Star City. to see and learn from you. But we have also arrived to help you! Show us your beast and get a solid growth plan, health evaluation, and materials list!
You may even qualify to get a training plan!"
Isa's sales pitch was much better than Clark felt he would have come up with. It was perfect and ready to sell whatever it could. Even Ella seemed to be writing it down for future use. It was a valuable learning moment for all of them.
"You don't even have the proper tool!"
"Yeah! Children like you shouldn't speak big!"
"What could you do?!" The crowd reacted instantly as Isa wanted. It was like she was a puppeteer waiting to pull the right strength. Clark and Maria both gave each other a worried look. Isa was much more devilish than expected.
"That is a good catch! You see nothing here? Why is that? Simple! That is because we are the best of the best. We have been welcomed as mentored by the top researcher in Nova academy.
Come and test us. The first growth plan will be free!"
This tactic was used everywhere for those that wanted to start out strong. Working a crowd could be done more easily if someone was given a free perfect product first. It also calmed down the people that would fight against them.
"Since you will choose someone you planted to take a free beast program, let me put you in your place." An arrogant man walked up. He had been the first to shout out against the sales pitch Isa used.
"God good, show off your beast and allow for our resident expert to take a close look." Isa ushered Clark over. The empty space suddenly filled with energy as a beast was released from a taming space.
'Stinger crab- uncommon
The stinger crab is very unique. On the ends of its claws are small barbs that inject a poison into their prey. Their poison paralyzes their prey while also causing swelling in the prey's body. It is how the stinger crab is able to hunt. They are also very tough shelled to resist predators. Unfortunately, their belly has a soft shell to assist their swimming making it a major weak point.
They are able to grow through training their poison. This is done by consuming other stinger crabs' poison and refining its own. The best way to grow in to the four pincer stinger crab is to feed it water and poison materials such as poison crystals and flat head fish beasts.
The best…'
Clark was rattling off facts so fast that Maria and Ella struggled to keep up. His detailed information was above any book they had read. It was like Clark was creating a biography of this single beast. As if he was looking in to the existence of the stinger crab to tell everyone what it had in store for the future.
The man that had been full of hot air was deflating. He was turning from frustrated and aggrieved in to a face full of wonder. He had no idea that someone could do such things. That someone so young could know so much about a beast that was not even from their own city. A beast foreign to where the researcher had grown up.
"And here are your written forms, sir. I hope you can tell everyone what you think of this." The man had nothing to say. He was speechless. The small crowd had just witnessed all of this anyways. They knew how amazing this was. How far the four Nova academy students had just jumped above the others on the market street.
It was stunning.
"Please, who would like for the next evaluation? We can start with a price of five gold!" Isa put the price higher after everyone saw what they could do. Not a single person could argue they were not worth this.
