Chapter 153: Growth Plan Theory

When the crystal butterfly flew around the room showing itself off, there was light being refracted through its wings. A warm aura fell over everyone there causing small injuries to heal at a slow rate.

The shadow wing butterfly flew next making all the light that the crystal butterfly had brought disappear. However, everyone noticed the shadows becoming slightly longer. The air becoming just slightly colder.

"Now, we believe these to be the strongest found growth stages of the patterned caterpillar. Yet, they should not be the only growth stages. If the same formats are used it may be possible to grow every elemental type of butterfly in to a similar form." Doc was summing things up fairly well.

Doc J stepped back to the front as well, "We even have some theories that say this is not the highest growth level for the patterned caterpillar. We have found that they are still able to gather a great deal of energy. That could be a signal of higher rarity materials being needed."

The entire lecture hall burst in to applause. A new training program with a new material feeding program for a beast that was thought to derive the singular purpose of food. Now people could look in to making their own powerful and potentially budget beast.

The two butterflies returned to Doc J who appeared to be their tamer. She ushered the other patterned caterpillar to return behind the curtain and she and Doc brought the two cocoons back behind the curtains.

A few merchants approached both of them as soon as they had returned to the lecture hall. They were trying to purchase the exact materials to make this happen. With the growth plans and materials they could have new guards for their carriages. Or they could sell these patterned caterpillars with partial training. It would also require a unique contract to tame them. Another upsale.

"Oh, and one last topic to discuss!" Doc spoke up silencing the room just as people were starting to leave. "Star Academy and Nova academy will be cooperating to release all findings as at the next grand academy tournament. I look forward to the alternative growth plans we can all develop!"

"Should I halt my research? I could achieve a great award with this. Ice, no, I should use something different. Maybe space? How much gold can I spend on this?" Ella was thrown in to a panic. She wanted to research the wisps but winning such an achievement could gain her the rarest of the rare materials for her wisps.

A single outlined growth plan could be ideal.

"Hey Ella, calm down. I will tell you a secret growth plan when we walk to the mayor's mansion for work tonight." Clark had a steel like tone to his voice. It was exactly what Ella needed to snap out of her constant mumbling.

"Already? I should have guessed!" Isa found that she was hearing about something that she should have expected. Clark had that kind of mind. The kind that could figure out an answer instantly.

"Doc is already looking at us. I think he expected Ella to want to experiment with this." Maria giggled slightly as Doc walked toward them.

"Did I manage to impress my new students?" Doc was very glad that all students had attended. He was even happier to see the notes being taken. Not a single one of his students had left yet.

"Naturally, I could not put this aside. You offered a challenge to my skills and I will show you something better than you imagine." Ella had been snapped out of her mumbling but still held her goals to heart.

"Perfect! I can tell that Clark has an idea too. His eyes narrow when he is evaluating a beast. It makes me wonder what he saw." The sneaky tactic to get Clark's ideas in the open was easily avoided. However, Clark didn't want to hide them.

"I was thinking about you and your sister's idea that this was not the final form of the patterned caterpillar. Have you ever heard of the mythical butterfly; the insect queen? It's considered a myth but I would say that it's possible to create one. Not from those but from breeding them through many generations. They are of different typings but who says they can't be combined?"

"You can just drop Alexander now. You are more suited to this line of work. You can become the leading researcher for beasts across this continent if you desire. Just say the word." Doc looked like a demon trying to tempt Clark.

"I know what you want, but Clark is not going to give up his goals so easily. He already gave you his ideas." Maria took the lead for Clark. She would not let Doc capture him and take him away. There was too much for Maria and Clark to do together.

"Fine Fine. My sister and I did consider breeding potential to reach a higher level of multi type growth. First, we will reach the pique of these two though. I will see all of you at the front gates in two days." Doc left them be. He knew that the students would all be busy. The free time they had would be gone sooner than later.

Ella practically tried to drag Clark out the door. No one seemed to care that they were leaving. Doc's sister gave them a look and a nod but that was all. She had heard a lot about Doc's student but didn't want to try and steal them away. She had her own students to guide in competition with the tiger academies.

"Tell me!" Ella got right in Clark's face. She was not going to let him get away with offering another growth plan.

"You grow spiritual wisps. The ones with no intelligence and absolutely no body, right?" This was a basic trait of a wisp as it was forming. It was why Ella's intelligent wisp could control the elemental wisps so far. They lacked intelligence to operate as their own beasts just yet.

"Yes. What is your plan for them?"

"Well, thinking about Isa's ability to fuse her elemental beasts with her body, I wondered. What would happen if a wisp fused with a patterned caterpillar? It is a blank slate that can take on elemental energies. So have it take on a high spiritual energy.

It could become a very unique beast that way." Clark had a few other ideas in mind however, when he had used the system to see many growth materials, the system had one that mentioned large amounts of spiritual energy.

"A catalyst. It would be a catalyst that helps the partially developed weak monster gain power. Then we add materials to change its nature to spiritual typing. After that, it can train vigorously against opposing typings. It's a good plan. But I can do more.

Why not use elemental wisps?" Alla began writing faster than anyone could comprehend.

"Now I need to keep track of her so she doesn't walk in front of a cart." Isa was a little annoyed that she was on babysitting duty with Ella now. But Clark just shrugged while aiming at the largest mansion ahead of them.
