Chapter 143: Clyde Rolly

Chapter 143: Clyde Rolly

"You look so well, Isa! I have missed you!" The man that showed himself was tall and skinny. However, he gave off an aura of strength that made Clark wonder just how he hid his strength.

"Brother, please. I am here to do business." Isa immediately turned red and began to hide her face. It was the exact way a big brother should embarrass a younger sibling.

"Oh, don't be like that. This is the waiting room. I am not doing business yet, so you can't either. These must be your partners in crime?" Clyde looked at the three with curiosity in his eyes. He saw they were hiding their faces still. "Can I meet them properly?"

"Swear upon the family name and crest. Do it here and now before me. Isa Rolly." This was much more serious than any of them had heard Isa. it was as if she was invoking the most sacred vow of her family.

"I understand. You are going to invest everything in them. Then I swear upon my name Clyde Rolly that I will uphold the conditions my family has always represented. My business will never trample upon that of my blood." an understanding passed between Isa and Clyde.

"Now, let me just do something small." Clyde dropped a single glass orb on the ground. In a strange turn of events, it shattered and caused another orb of spiritual energy to erase the entire room. "It's a unique item I managed to procure a few years ago. I can use it once a month and it hides everything that happens inside it."

This sort of item was easily ultra rare or higher. No one would just have this. "From the looks of it, you are the brother that goes out to pick up hunted beasts? Clears dungeons?" Clark spoke while removing the mask. He understood why Isa was looking between them and her brother so much.

"I am the one and only. My other brother is preoccupied with a new sapphire mine. Something about water and earth sapphires that could make the best necklace for someone or something. I really don't know." Clyde pretended to not care about his other brother but they all say that there was a hint of jealousy.

"I am Clark. I am the eyes that your sister contracted. They were good enough to be the foundation of a business. Good enough to see your assassin fly queen hiding in your hair."

'Assassin fly queen- rare

The assassin fly queen is a fly with extremely weak defenses. However, it is a beast with amazing flying agility and temperature resistance. The extremely toxic poison makes it dangerous for even the toughest beasts. The fact that it feeds on blood from its prey also speaks for its brutality in murder. The best material…'

"So you noticed. Not many do. It is thanks to my partner that I have survived the wilds and come out with great rewards." Clyde could tell that Clark had been able to see more. That Clark was making even a diamond in the rough seem like a lump of coal.

"Brother, this is Maria and Ella. Ella is a beast breeding genius well above her class. Maria is a healer and talented archer. Both will work with me to start my beast appraisal, growth plan, and breeding business. " Maria and Ella were a little more afraid after Clark had pointed out a dangerous beast like the assassin fly. Let alone the queen assassin fly which could lay eggs and breed more.

"I am happy to meet all of you. Since you have signed a contract with My little sister, I will expect you all to take care of her well." This wasn't just a hope that Clyde had. His aura told them that this was what he expected. This was what he would hold them to.

"She has already promised to work with us. It will be a major growth point for us to become the best in the city. Then the world after that." Clark spoke highly enough to sound like they would not be that much of a threat to anyone. However, Clyde had the feeling that there was more truth in Clark's words than he let on.

"Brother, why did you come here?" Isa hurriedly changed the subject. She knew that Clyde's unique item could only block them off from the world for so long.

"I was nearby after a dungeon exploration. I was paid by a wealthy benefactor and his old friend. They gave me the materials they did not need. I thought I would sell them here. I also heard a rumor that Nova academy students would be here. Specifically four unique students." Clyde had been drawn by the desire to see his sister.

Clark, Ella, and Maria all felt this was too much.

"Really! You always do this! When father dropped me off at the academy test you just happened to be there. When mother bought me my first dress you just happened to find a bow that matched. Why are you like this!?" Isa showed a little bit of her childishness after being prodded by her older brother. It was enough to make the group hold back laughter.

'Well, That's that. Our time is at an end. Just do not bid on soap stone. I have a client that wants that for a sculpting competition. If you steal it away then they might be unhappy." Clyde watched them put their disguises back on before the off energy bubble burst. It reappeared in Clyde's hand dully and without energy.

Clyde hid it away before Clark could use the system to analyze it. He wanted answers very badly but had no way to claim them.

"I will see you another time brother." Issa huffed while her brother walked out of the room and the guard arrived yet again.

"Please allow me to guide you." They followed the guard up a set of velvet rug stairs to a single room. The hallway had a row of doors that circled around the main stage where items were displayed.

"As the guests can see, this room is special. It has magic runes on the glass to allow you to view the items better than most others can. They also protect your identity and keep this room private. If you need anything please press that bell there. An assistant will come immediately. To bid, please just speak out normally.

The magic runes will do their work."

The group looked around for a few moments before Clark spoke up, "Your brother really cares for you then?"

"I swear on all that is magic in this world, if you speak again I will burn you!" The flame sprite sparked up next to Isa to prove her point. Clark could only laugh.

'I believe we will be able to learn a lot from this auction. Your brother deals with very rare materials from powerful monsters. He should have bought something interesting." Ella was ready to record everything in her notebooks. She wanted the knowledge to be able to use whatever she could.

"True, we can make a lot more on the knowledge than the actual materials." Maria considered that they would be able to learn a great deal just by watching. The knowledge could be used and even traded with others at a high price.

"Ooohh, we could start the information business. But that would make us look shady. I don't wish to fall in line with the black market." Isa knew the dangers of such activities.

"I won't be pushing anyone to do that. Instead, we should just grow stronger under our own strength." Clark stepped forward to look at the suddenly quiet floor below. Many people had sat down for the beginning.

"Hello hello helllloooo! Welcome to our humble auction house. Tonight in your Star City we have a marvelous election that puts even our best auctions to dull nothings in comparison. Honored guest Clyde Rolly has chosen here to sell a myriad of items. Please, a round of applause!"

"And there is his marketing. Just you wait, I will be better." Isa saw this as a challenge against her from her brother. They might not interfere with each other's businesses but they still wanted to better the other.

"We have to start with the basics. We have the newest in the line of water and stars paintings. Please feel free to bid on the painting arriving now!" The first section was reserved for the arts. Clark didn't need to worry about them and stepped back. He needed to focus on materials and other things. But he remembered to ring the bell to bring an assistant to the room.

"I would like to have these eggs auctioned off." The eggs had papers with each so that they could be auctioned properly. "Please make the additional announcement that the Isa Rolly beast analysis team found these and put a guarantee on all information attached to each egg.

And I mean, a hundred percent guarantee," Clark scared the attendant a little with his mask but the attendant took the eggs and rushed down to the family in charge of the auction. Additional items for sale were always welcome.
