Chapter 142: Rolly Family Crest
Chapter 142: Rolly Family Crest
After a slightly awkward moment where Clark and Maria went to sleep silent, Clark gave Crim the vial of a single drop of ancient dragon blood. Crim knew the energy immediately and screamed in Clark's mind. It was dragged in to the taming space where Clark could feel Crim's excitement.
Devi was the same way seeing the large death crystal. The intimidating aura it gave off made Clark warry to even remove it from the spacial ring. However, once it was in the taming space with Devi, there were no issues. Maria didn't even flinch seeing it.
What Clark did take notice of was that Lit had taken the light crystal and wrapped one tentacle around it. Lit was slowly taking the energy and storing it away for when she would be able to have a growth spurt. When she would be able to use the energies she had to jump to the next growth.
By the time morning came around, Isa proved to be the last awake. She was clearly tired from her lack of sleep. "I told you to sleep. I manage on four hours, but you are on zero." Even Ella was reprimanding Isa which surprised everyone. Ella was a research maniac and it was easy to think that she would stay awake for days on end.
"I will be fine. Just get me to the auction. I will get us in to something special." From the way that Isa slurred her words in tiredness, someone would mistake her for drunk. That was until she found the fresh waffles made by the innkeeper.
The syrup was made from a unique kind of tree that grew in both the salt and fresh water pools near the city. It had a unique salty and sweet flavor that was able to balance the heaping plate of fluffy waffles. The entire group agreed that they were the best they had ever had.
"So, the plan for the auction?" Clark wanted to hear Isa's business plan.
"Buy in bulk. Or rare materials. We might need catalyst materials for Ella, unique materials for beast growth, and then we need things to bring back to the city to sell. But most of all, we need to give the sandworm and ancient sandworm eggs to the auction to sell. Even more, we need to sell the herbs that you harvested.
And yes, earth potatoes will sell for more than you think because they are not a local item in the markets here."
The breakdown gave all of them things to wonder about. If they found unique materials they could make a massive breath through on a personal level. Unfortunately, that was not what the group needed. They were trying to form business and take the world by storm.
On the other hand, if they had bulk materials, they could help beasts in their city grow in unexpected ways., the perfect way for them to make a beasts growth plan and analysis business. Add on some beast eggs purchased from the Star city auction, and they would have a huge gold return with a minor investment.
"Clark has the best eyes, we need him to give an opinion first. We need to sit together." Ella could sketch and gather information but Clark was the key.
"Don't worry about seating. I will handle that." Isa was sure that things would be fine. So much so that she was the first to leave the table to discreetly change and wait outside.
After carefully changing and meeting up an hour later, the group was in the same market they had passed through the day before. However, it was nearly dead.
"Don't tell me that the auction is this big…" Clark saw that most people were focused on a single large building carved from a blue and white marble. It had many beasts with water typing carved in to it. The craftsmen that had made such a thing would be considered the top of the top anywhere they went. The entire building gave off an aura of perfection and honor.
As they marched to the front, many people looked at them wondering just what they were planning. The outfits the group wore made them stand out compared to everyone else who wore the finest clothing they had.
"Please show your invitation or your ticket." The guard at the door was used to outsiders trying to push their way in. acting as if they were more important. It was the worst part of the job but one that he had to deal with nonetheless.
"Just look at this and tell me how quickly you will have a VIP room for us." Just like Isa had said, she took the lead. She held out a hand showing the Rolly family crest. A simple pin with all the elemental symbols in a circle on it with a gold coin in the idle.
The guard widened his eyes and was not sure if he was actually seeing this. He had not expected such an important pin to be show up here. It was impossible to steal such a thing from a family. Most families with such pins would engrave special runes on them that would cause them to degrade if used by someone not meant to have them.
"Of course honored guest! I will bring you to the best of the best VIP rooms." This shocked the crowd. They were not sure who had just walked in since they were all disguised, but they were sure that they had seen a big fish. "I must notify you, there is another member of the family here selling a great deal of items from a recent expedition."
"Oh? I will speak with them." the group understood that this must be one of Isa's brothers. There was nothing else it could be. She had two older brothers and if there was one here it would make a lot of sense that he was there to sell things collected from the wilds.
"Should we risk seeing them?" Clark whispered to Isa.
"I will see them. You can all remain covered. I will not give us away. But I will act as a Rolly family member." The guard was not even paying attention. He had been trained to close his ears to conversations of VIP guests. He knew the losses that the auction house could get if they were offended.
"Please be comfortable here while we prepare your room. I will notify the other family member if you desire." The guard bowed, not looking at them closely.
"Do so and I will speak to them while I wait for my room." Isa stayed with her business attitude. The guard rushed out of the highly decorated waiting room.
"I will go without a disguise. The auction house will keep me under guard because of my family name. I did not expect that one of my brothers was here. That actually helps us out. We will have an advantage." Isa took the veiled cloak off and placed the Rolly family pin on her shirt in clear view.
"So, we get to meet one of Isa's family members today. How exciting." Maria found it a little interesting since Isa had explained her family situation and how they all worked to form their own businesses with their own hard work.
"I agree, it should be enlightening when we ask about how cute Isa was as a child trying to steal people's money." Ella was able to get a smile and soft laugh from everyone but Isa who grew slightly red faced at the comment.
"Oh, steal money was right. She had a small gambling trick she used to use with her weighted dice. For a seven year old, she was vicious!" the gravely male voice that came from the door as it opened made Isa stiffen a little before she broke in to a wide smile.
"Clyde!"
