~Lisa’s POV
I couldn’t stop smiling.
The air in the hut was still warm from the energy, and Lira’s face was glowing with pride.
I sat there, breathing hard, still feeling the magic moving under my skin like fireflies dancing inside me.
Lira looked at me with bright eyes. "You did it, Lisa," she said softly. "You really did it."
I laughed breathlessly. "I can’t believe it. I thought I was going to burn alive."
She laughed too, shaking her head. "You almost did. But you controlled it. You owned it."
I looked down at my hands. "It feels strange... like the power’s still here, waiting."
"It is," she said. "It’ll always be here now. You’ve awakened both your wolf and witch blood. You’re complete."
I smiled at her, feeling tears build in my eyes. "Thank you, Lira. For not giving up on me."
She squeezed my hand. "Never. I told you from the start, you’re meant for great things."
I chuckled softly. "Then maybe great things can start with food. Because I’m starving."
Lira’s eyes widened. "Oh goddess, me too! I thought I was the only one."
We both burst out laughing, the sound filling the small hut. For the first time in forever, I felt light. No pain, no fear, no sadness, just peace.
"Let’s make something nice," Lira said, rubbing her hands together. "Something that feels like celebration."
I nodded quickly. "Agreed. But no waiting hours. I’m too hungry for that."
"Good thing you’ve got magic now," she teased. "Use that fancy fire of yours."
I grinned. "Watch and learn."
I waved my hand over the empty pot, murmuring softly, "Fiora ental flamea."
A soft golden flame appeared instantly, burning bright but calm. It didn’t even smoke.
Lira clapped. "Oh, that’s perfect! See? You’re a natural already."
"I know," I said proudly, pretending to dust my hands. "Now, what are we cooking?"
"Something simple," she said. "Roasted meat, some stew, and maybe bread?"
"Done," I said, snapping my fingers. The ingredients floated out of the basket nearby and landed on the table.
She gasped. "Show-off!"
I laughed. "I’ve earned it."
We worked together, tossing herbs and spices around like children playing with glitter. I used my magic to roast the meat, spinning it slowly in the air while the fire turned it golden brown. Lira stirred the stew with her wand, humming an old song that sounded like laughter.
It smelled heavenly.
After a while, she leaned over and sniffed. "Mmm, that’s perfect. You’ve got talent, Lisa."
"I told you," I teased. "Magic and cooking, they’re kind of the same thing."
She poured us each a cup of red wine she’d saved
. "Then let’s celebrate, Lady Firewolf."
I raised my cup. "To us," I said, smiling. "And to new beginnings."
We clinked our cups and drank. The warmth spread through me instantly, mixing with the lingering magic still inside me. I felt unstoppable.
Lira grinned. "You know what we need now?"
"What?"
"A spell of joy," she said. "Something to mark the night."
I tilted my head. "A spell of joy?"
She nodded, already standing up. "Yes! Come on, repeat after me!"
I laughed but joined her. She raised her hands and started chanting softly, "Fina loh seran, vola ti’ra, shemora va’len!"
I joined in, letting my voice rise with hers. "Fina loh seran, vola ti’ra, shemora va’len!"
Suddenly, golden lights began to float in the air, tiny sparks that shimmered and burst into small stars.
We laughed and clapped as the lights filled the hut, swirling around us like dancing fireflies.
"It’s beautiful!" I said, spinning slowly.
Lira nodded, smiling wide. "It’s happiness, Lisa. Pure happiness."
We danced around the little firelight, laughing like children. We chanted more spells, little ones, harmless ones, to make the stars change colors, to make petals rain from the ceiling, to make the air smell like cinnamon and honey.
For that one night, everything was perfect.
After eating, we sat by the fire, our stomachs full, our hearts even fuller.
Lira leaned back against the wall and sighed. "So, what now?"
I was quiet for a moment. "Now..." I said slowly, "I want to see my brother."
Her eyes softened. "Alpha Thorne?"
I nodded. "Yes."
She smiled gently. "Then it’s time."
"Do you think he’ll still recognize me?" I asked softly.
She looked at me for a moment. "He’s your brother. He’ll know you. Maybe not by face at first... but by the bond."
I smiled, a tear slipping down my cheek. "You’re right."
She squeezed my hand. "Get some rest, Lisa. Tomorrow, we go to the palace."
That night, I slept like a baby, no nightmares, no fire, just peace. For the first time in years, I felt safe.
The next morning came with soft light peeking through the hut. I woke up feeling stronger, surer.
Lira was already dressed, her hair tied neatly.
"You ready?" she asked with a grin.
I nodded. "More than ever."
We stepped outside, the cool morning breeze brushing against our faces. Birds sang in the distance, and for once, the world didn’t feel like an enemy.
As we approached the gates of Thorne’s palace, my heart began to race.
Two guards stood at the entrance. The moment they saw me, they stiffened. One of them quickly pulled out a small portrait from his belt.
"It’s her," he whispered to the other.
They both looked at me, eyes wide. Then, almost at the same time, they bowed deeply.
"My lady," one said, his voice trembling.
I was surprised.
"It’s your aura...." Lira said to me faintly.
I swallowed hard and said firmly, "I am Lisa. Tell your Alpha that I’m here to see him."
"Yes, my lady!" They straightened quickly, their faces full of shock and respect. "Please, come in."
They led us through the grand halls. Every servant we passed paused to bow.
My heart pounded faster with every step.
When we reached the main hall, one of the guards bowed again. "Please wait here, my lady. I’ll call for Alpha Thorne."
I nodded, trying to calm my breathing. My palms were sweaty. Lira stood beside me, giving me a reassuring look.
"It’ll be fine," she whispered.
I smiled nervously. "I know. I just... can’t believe this is happening."
A few moments later, the door opened, and Thorne walked in.
He stopped the instant he saw me.
For a few seconds, neither of us moved. His eyes went wide, full of disbelief. Then they softened.
"Lisa..." he whispered.
My heart broke hearing my name in his voice. "Brother..."
The word "brother" felt off but at the same time cool.
"Brother," I called out again.
