Chapter 320 - the one

~Lisa’s POV
Thorne took a slow step forward, then another, until he was right in front of me. His eyes glistened as he reached out a shaking hand. "It’s really you?"
I nodded, tears streaming down my face. "It’s me."
He didn’t wait any longer. He pulled me into his arms and hugged me tight.
He held me even tighter. "No, Lisa. I’m sorry," he said, his voice breaking. "I should’ve found you sooner."
I shook my head. "You couldn’t have known. I was lost, Thorne... but I found my way back."
He stood a few feet away from me, his eyes filled with disbelief and awe.
For a moment, he didn’t say a word, he just stared, his gaze moving from my face to the faint glow of my aura. I could see it too, the golden light swirling around me like soft mist.
Then he finally spoke, his voice low and amusing.
"Lisa... your aura... it’s so strong."
I gave him a small smile. "I guess I changed a little."
He took a slow step closer, still staring at me. That was when his eyes shifted past me, landing on Lira, who stood quietly with her hands folded before her.
"And who is this?" he asked, his tone polite but curious.
I turned to glance at her and then back at Thorne. "This is Lira. She was our mother’s guide."
His expression softened instantly. He nodded in respect. "Then I owe you my thanks, Lira. You brought my sister back."
Lira bowed her head slightly, smiling. "It was her destiny, Alpha Thorne. I only helped her see it."
Thorne stepped aside and motioned for us to sit. "Come. You both must be tired."
We followed him into the hall. The palace was just as I remembered, grand and filled with warmth. The faint scent of herbs and wine lingered in the air, and the golden torches flickered against the stone walls.
Thorne listened carefully as we told him our story. He understood enough, enough to know how hard it had been. His jaw clenched at certain parts, and I could see the anger in his eyes, though he said nothing.
When we finished, he stood and placed his hand gently on my shoulder. "You’ve been through too much. Both of you."
Then he turned to one of the maids standing by the door. "Prepare two rooms for my sister and Lira. Bring them food, fresh clothes, and whatever they need."
The maid bowed and hurried out immediately.
"Thank you, Thorne," I said softly.
He gave me a small, warm smile. "Don’t thank me, Lisa. This is your home too."
Lira smiled too, her eyes bright. "Your brother has a kind heart."
"He always has," I said, looking at him fondly.
He chuckled. "Don’t make me sound too soft." Then he straightened up, his usual confident tone returning. "Tonight, we’ll have a celebration. A welcome party. Everyone needs to know that you’re back."
I blinked, surprised. "A party?"
"Of course," he said. "You’re my sister, the long-lost daughter of this pack. We’ll celebrate that."
Lira clapped her hands, laughing. "Oh, that sounds lovely!"
Thorne smiled at our reaction and excused himself to make preparations.
When night fell, the palace came alive. Lanterns glowed all around the courtyard, the air thick with music, laughter, and the smell of roasted meat. The moon was high, casting a soft silver light over everything.
Lira and I dressed in the clothes the maids brought, mine was a flowing white gown that shimmered faintly under the light, and Lira wore a deep green one that complimented her dark hair.
"You look like a goddess," Lira said, smiling at me as she adjusted the strap of my gown.
I laughed lightly. "You’re one to talk. You look like the forest itself blessed you."
She chuckled. "Maybe it did."
When we entered the hall, everyone turned to look. The music softened for a moment as eyes followed me, whispers filling the air. I felt their gazes, not with fear this time, but with something close to pride.
Thorne met us halfway, his face glowing with happiness. "You both look perfect," he said.
I smiled, glancing around. "You did all this?"
He nodded. "You deserve it."
After a few moments, he guided me to a group of people. "There’s someone I want you to meet," he said.
A tall, elegant woman stood near the throne, her dark hair falling over her shoulders, her eyes calm but kind. "This is my Luna, Elara."
Elara smiled warmly, stepping forward. "So you’re Lisa. I’ve heard so much about you."
"All good things, I hope," I said with a small laugh.
"Only good things," she said, taking my hand. "You’re even more radiant than I imagined."
Her touch was gentle, and there was a strange connection between us, like our energies recognized each other.
Thorne smiled at our exchange, clearly pleased. "And there’s someone else I’d like you to meet," he added, leading me toward another woman who stood nearby, tall, graceful, and commanding even in silence.
"This is the great Luna Seraphine," he said respectfully.
Seraphine’s eyes were deep and knowing. She studied me for a long moment, then smiled faintly. "I see it now. The balance of flame and light. Your parents would be proud."
My heart skipped.
Her words warmed me more than the firelight ever could.
The music began again, and soon everyone was eating, laughing, and celebrating. Lira danced with a few of the young warriors, and Thorne sat beside me, filling my cup every time it emptied.
"Hope you are enjoying yourself?" he asked after a while.
Before I could reply, I noticed a small group of people entering the hall. They were dressed differently, dark cloaks, symbols drawn across their wrists. They didn’t move like the others.
Thorne followed my gaze. "Who are they?" he muttered, frowning.
The guards stepped forward, ready to stop them, but before Thorne could give the order, the group moved closer, calm, purposeful.
And then, one by one, they knelt.
"We are here to see our own,"
Thorne froze. "What in the goddess’s name..."
Lira motioned for me to stand in front of them and I did.
The one in front, a woman with silver hair, looked up at me. "We welcome you, our new leader," she said reverently. "The true head of the Coven."
The hall went silent. Every sound, every breath stopped.
My heart pounded in my chest as I looked at them, and somehow, deep down, I knew.
They weren’t mistaken.
Lira gasped softly beside me, whispering, "I told you...You’re the one."
Thorne turned to me slowly, shock written all over his face. "Lisa... what do they mean?"
I didn’t answer at first. My lips trembled as the truth settled in.
"I think," I said finally, my voice barely more than a whisper, "they mean that I’ve just found out who I really am."
