Chapter 318 - two halves
Chapter 318 - two halves
318
~Lisa’s POV
I was trembling.
The floor under me was cold, but the fire inside me burned hotter than anything I’d ever felt.
"Lira..." I gasped, clutching my stomach. "It hurts... I said it hurts!"
But she didn’t stop.
Her eyes were closed, her hands raised, and her voice echoed through the hut like waves of thunder. The ancient chant rolled from her lips, deep and steady, as if the whole world moved with her rhythm.
"Lira!" I screamed again. "Please! I can’t take it!"
She didn’t hear me, or maybe she did and just didn’t care.
The sound of her voice grew stronger, faster. I felt something crawling under my skin, something wild and alive.
My vision blurred. My chest tightened. My whole body shook.
"Lira!" I cried again, but this time my voice cracked.
Then suddenly, everything exploded.
Flames burst out from my hands. From my arms. From everywhere.
I screamed as fire surrounded me, golden and red, twisting like it knew my name. I thought I was going to burn alive.
The moment Lira’s eyes snapped open, something inside me shifted.
The sound of her gasp filled the hut. "Oh my goddess," she whispered, her voice shaking. "It’s happening!"
"What...what’s happening?!" I cried, panic rising in my chest. The fire around me burned brighter, the heat licking my skin like it wanted to eat me alive. I tried to move, but my body wouldn’t listen.
"The awakening!" Lira shouted, her eyes shining with both fear and excitement. "Lisa, don’t fight it! Let it come!"
"I can’t!" I screamed. My hands were shaking, my skin was glowing red. "It hurts too much!"
"Yes, you can!" she yelled back, stepping closer, though the flames hissed around her. "This is your power, Lisa! It’s been buried inside you all this time. Let it rise! Don’t hold it back!"
Her words echoed deep in my head, bouncing off every thought, every heartbeat.
I looked down at my trembling hands. My veins glowed like liquid fire, pulsing in rhythm with my breath. I could hear something, a low hum, like the earth itself was calling my name.
And then... something inside me snapped.
The pain that had been tearing through me changed. It wasn’t pain anymore, it was energy. Wild, hot, and alive. I gasped, clutching my chest as it poured through me. It was like lightning had struck inside my heart and refused to leave.
My mouth opened before I could even think, and words spilled out, old words, strange words, yet somehow I knew them. They came from deep inside me.
"Solara min drae... fenor ta’na... lyra nox elen... shira vel mora!"
The air trembled. The flames around me twisted and swirled like they were dancing to my voice.
Lira’s eyes went wide. "Yes! Yes, that’s it, Lisa! Keep going!" she shouted.
I couldn’t stop. The words kept coming, stronger and faster.
"Tora ven ashal! Vexa lumina! Fen dral solra... vena’ra listra!"
A bright light exploded from my body, throwing sparks across the room. The walls shook. The ground cracked slightly beneath me.
My hair lifted into the air, glowing faintly with silver streaks. My eyes burned like blue fire. I felt power pouring through my veins like a river that had finally broken free.
"Lira!" I gasped, my voice shaking. "I can feel everything!"
She nodded quickly, tears in her eyes. "Don’t stop! Let it all out! Let it take its true form!"
"Nora vel dras! Sira ta luna!" I cried again, the chant rising like thunder.
The fire around me turned gold, wrapping me in a perfect circle. I could feel my wolf stirring deep inside, howling in harmony with the chant. My heartbeat grew faster, my vision sharpened, and then....
Light burst from my chest, spreading through the whole hut.
Lira covered her face, laughing and crying at the same time. "You’re doing it! You’re awakening both sides!"
The words barely reached me. All I could feel was power. Pure, beautiful, endless power.
It wasn’t just inside me, it was me.
The chant slowed on its own as my body began to glow softer, the light settling into my skin. The pain was gone now. All that was left was warmth, peace, and strength.
Lira clapped her hands and laughed through tears. "You did it! You actually did it!"
I howled, a sound that shook the hut. Then I stopped chanting and turned back to my human form. My knees hit the floor, and I gasped, drenched in sweat.
Lira dropped beside me, still smiling so wide her cheeks glowed. "Lisa!"
I looked at her, my chest heaving. "I...I did it?"
She nodded quickly. "You did it. You’ve unlocked both sides of yourself! You’re a full hybrid now, a true wolf witch."
For a moment, I didn’t move. Then I threw my arms around her and hugged her tight.
"Thank you," I whispered. "Thank you so much."
Lira laughed softly, hugging me back. "You did the hard part, not me."
I pulled back and looked at her face, her eyes bright, her smile genuine. "No, Lira... I wouldn’t have done this without you."
I smiled weakly. My heart was pounding, but it wasn’t from fear anymore. It was from pride.
I stood up slowly and looked around. The hut was still glowing faintly from the energy, but nothing burned anymore. The flames had gone, almost as if they’d bowed to me before fading.
I lifted my hand, whispering a few words under my breath. A small golden light formed in my palm, warm and soft.
I gasped. "Lira, look!"
She laughed. "You’re commanding it already. See? You remember every spell."
I turned the light into a butterfly, then into water, then into a floating stone. I could feel it all, the control, the rhythm, the balance between my wolf and witch blood.
"It feels... right," I said softly. "Like I’ve finally found myself."
"You have," Lira said proudly. "You’re ready now."
I frowned slightly. "Ready for what?"
She smiled mysteriously. "For everything that’s coming."
Her words sent a small chill down my spine, but I didn’t ask.
I was too happy, too free, too full of energy to think of fear.
I lifted my hands again, whispering more chants. The wind obeyed. The fire danced. The water rose in small spirals.
I laughed, spinning in the middle of the room like a child.
"Lira, I can feel it all!" I said, laughing through tears. "The air, the fire, the earth, everything listens to me!"
She nodded, watching me with pride. "Then remember this moment, Lisa. This is your true self. Never hide it again."
I smiled and nodded. "I won’t."
She stepped forward, took my hand, and bowed deeply. "My lady," she said softly. "The balance has chosen you."
I blinked, surprised. "Don’t bow to me, Lira. You’re my guide."
She smiled, eyes shining. "Guide, yes. But tonight, I bow to the power well-earned."
I stared at her for a long moment, then reached down and pulled her back up into another hug. "We did it," I whispered.
She nodded against my shoulder. "Yes, we did."
Outside, thunder rolled in the distance, not in anger, but like the sky was applauding.
I stood there, breathing hard, my heart full.
I wasn’t torn between two halves.
I was whole.
