Chapter 80. Null Void Dimension.
Chapter 80. Null Void Dimension.
Ray’s jaw tightened as he tried his best to calm his nerves.
Then his gaze drifted toward his Warp skill which allowed him tear a hole in reality now.
It allows him to open a gateway to any place he had seen before.
All he had to do was simply rip space apart and he could easily step through.
The cost for activating such skill was brutal though because it drains a massive amount of mana every time he activates the skill, causing him to feel nauseous and sometimes worse.
He had nearly passed out on the first time he used the skill
But when he needs to move fast and far and when he needs to escape or close distances between himself and an enemy, this is where the skill usefulness shines best.
Dragging his gaze onto the next skill, Ray’s gaze shifted to his Void Chain skill.
Ray’s first clenched tighter as he recalled what Inspired him to try learning this type of skill he didn’t had in his previous life.
And it was none other than Aldric himself.
Since Aldric had used a couple of dark magic chains to bind him to the ground before he crushed his skull, Ray thought he could try conjuring his own as well because he recalled how hard it was to escape from a magical chain.
He remembered it wrapping around his arms, legs and chest.
Then he recalled not being able to move and not being able to fight back.
At first, he didn’t think he could replicate something like that because dark magic wasn’t void Magic, and the mechanics behind our both magic worked were different, so he had great doubt that his theories might work.
But he tried it anyways.
And after days of failure, and days of watching void energy slip through his fingers like smoke, the chains finally manifested.
Now, solidified void energy formed that could bind targets and suppress their magical powers.
Realizing this, Ray smiled bitterly as he found it ironic that the chains that had killed him in his previous life had now become his weapon.
And it was now one of the strongest tool.
With a relaxed sigh, Ray finally settled his gaze on the last skill called Void Ball.
Right after Ray had acquired the skill Void Chain, Ray woke up the next day to see a new system notification popping up in front of him.
He hadn’t even been trying to learn anything new yet the system simply rewarded him a new skill and this greatly surprised Ray a lot.
Moreover, the mechanics to how the new skill worked was something Ray had never seen before because it broadened the concept of what he knew about Void magic as a whole.
Whenever Void Ball was activated, it created a condensed sphere of void energy that seemed to be link directly to something called the Null Void Dimension.
Reading the details of the skill at the time, Ray frowned upon seeing this, so he tested the skill out himself.
So he went into the forest very early in the morning while everyone in the village was still asleep.
He had chosen an oak tree as his target because it had a thick trunk and strong branches, so he aimed his palm straight at it.
The void energy gathered in his hand, then it swirled and condensed into a small black sphere.
Ray released it and the sphere flew forward to hit the tree.
For a split second, nothing happened.
Then the part of the tree he’d aimed at... just vanished.
It wasn’t burned and neither did it get cut or exploded.
Instead, it seemed like it had been eaten by something with long, sharp jaws because these jaw marks appeared where the void Ball had been struck.
To be exact, it seemed like something from the other side had bitten through reality itself and taken a chunk of the tree with it.
Seeing this fur the first time really shocked Ray, so he stared at the damage for a full minute before trying again.
And the same results happened but this time the bite marks were different like it had happened from a different monster with wider jaw and more teeth.
So, he tried it on five more trees and every single time he tried it, a different set of teeth marks appeared on the trees.
In other words, if he used this skill on a person, there was no way the person was going to survive it because the attacks by the monsters in other dimensions were instantaneous, making it seem that whatever monsters were on the other side, they were all definitely starving and desperate to eat anything that comes within their range of view.
’So far, what i know about this Null Void Dimension, is that it’s a different realm and it seems to be filled with monsters desperate to get out and feast.’
’At least, that’s the only thing that makes sense to me.’
’But i do wonder if I’ll ever see what’s inside that dimension.’
Ray paused as he considered what he just uttered in his thoughts.
’Actually, on second thought, I changed my mind.’
’A part of me definitely doesn’t wish to see what’s on the other side of that dimension.’
’It looks like a place anyone should definitely avoid.’
Ray nodded to himself with his arms folded across his chest.
However, Mira’s voice pulled him out of his thoughts.
"Ray?"
"Mm??" Ray blinked as he looked up.
"You seemed to be spacing out, are you okay?"
"I’m fine. Thanks." Ray replied before dragging his attention to Emma who was sitting on the floor with Ember curled up in her lap.
The little wyvern was already asleep and Rime was stretched out near Ray’s feet with its small chest rising and falling steadily in a peaceful and cute motion.
Helen smiled as she witnessed these then she clapped her hands together softly.
"Alright, everyone. These little ones need rest and so do we. Let’s give them some space okay?"
Everyone nodded in response and Emma carefully laid Ember down on a soft blanket near the corner of the room.
