Regressor's Harem Of Vengeance

Chapter 73. Realization.

Chapter 73. Realization.

The vision shattered once again and Mira find herself waking up and gasping.

She looked around and noticed the room was dark.

It was still in the middle of the night and the candle had burned out.

Beside her was Ray, who was still asleep.

His breathing was a bit uneven and his face seemed tense even in his sleep.

Mira sat up slowly and tears streamed down her cheeks.

She hadn’t even realized she was crying or had been crying in her sleep.

Mira touched her cheeks and felt the tears but she couldn’t stop it now because she had seen everything about Ray.

In fact, she understood everything now.

He had died alone in a dark room and had somehow come back to the past to change his fate.

Mira looked at Ray’s face and noticed the same face she’d seen in the vision.

It was similar but different at the same time because Ray’s face was now younger and softer than the one who had suffered five years of abuse by the elite warrior’s party.

Everything made sense now.

It made sense why Ray would train so obsessively and why he had killed the Baron without hesitation.

Of course, she knew it was to prevent her own death but now Mira understood why Ray didn’t like the idea of joining the elite party.

Initially, she understood why Ray had been preparing for the monster tide which was to protect his family and to prevent anything from happening to Helen and Emma, however she had always wondered what could have changed Ray’s opinion about the elite warrior’s party and nobles in general.

Now, Mira understood why Ray delayed his invitation to join the elite warrior’s party and why he had chosen not to follow Sister Clara.

At first, Mira believed what he had said to Clara about preparing himself to join the elite warrior’s party, but Ray wasn’t interested in joining them, instead he was only interested in destroying them.

’All of them...’ Mira uttered in her thoughts as she realized he’d been carrying this thought and responsibility on his shoulder.....alone.

He’d been planning his revenge all this while on his own.

And he had been living with those memories alone because how could he possibly explain something impossible to anyone who hadn’t seen it like she had now.

If Ray had told her that he had memories of the future or had regressed back in time to change his fate, a part of Mira would have thought her boyfriend was sick in the head or that maybe, he needed help from experienced healers, but after seeing the things she had seen, Mira couldn’t help but think otherwise.

With a deep sigh, Mira pressed her hands to her face.

Thanks to the bond between them, Mira could feel Ray’s emotions even in his sleep.

She could still feel the determination he had to complete his objective and revenge.

And she could feel the fury and rage that had never quite went away either.

She understood now why Ray always seemed like he had learned to think ten steps ahead because anything less than that meant death.

Mira thought she knew and understood her boyfriend, but the truth was that she hadn’t understood anything about him until now.

Mira drew her knees up to her chest, then she wrapped her arms around them.

She didn’t know what to say to him when Ray wakes up but she couldn’t help but replay everything she had seen, prior to her waking up.

However, one very important thing was certain.

She could definitely not un-know everything she mnoss now and she definitely couldn’t pretend not understanding it as well.

Things would certainly change as from now, but what mattered the most was how she reacted to everything she had known about Ray.

The truth about Ray’s past had forced itself into her mind and had shown her everything about him whether she was ready for it or not.

*Sigh*

With a cute sigh, Mira looked at Ray again.

He was still sleeping and was still dreaming, and she was certain he thought he was still hiding the truth from her but Mira was prepared to let things change between them.

With her mind set on what she wanted to do, Mira wiped her face and lay back down carefully.

She didn’t sleep.

In fact, she couldn’t sleep, so just lay there in the dark beside Ray and waited for dawn.

Her mind was too full right now, and was over the place.

However, during her journey in Ray’s memories, Mira noticed someone’s name that kept popping up within conversations.

"Sera Argent." Mira muttered softly as she lay awake beside Ray, staring at the ceiling while wondering how things would be from now on.

********

The next morning, Mira was still awake as Ray woke up and opened his eyes.

She was sitting up in the bed beside him and her back was pressed against the wall but her blue eyes was watching him steadily as he slowly turned around before meeting her gaze.

"Good morning beautiful." Ray greeted casually but the moment he heard Mira’s response, he knew something wasn’t right.

"Good morning." Mira replied softly as she tried not to make it obvious about the things troubling her concerning him but Ray instantly noticed her struggles and he couldn’t help but sigh softly

Ray sat up slowly and they looked at each other in the quiet room.

"So, you know huh."

*Nods* Mira nodded slowly in response and Ray placed his palm on his face.

"Last night, right?"

"Yes," Mira replied.

"Ugh, I knew this would happen. I should have controlled myself even more last night."

"I’m sorry. I know you didn’t want me to..." Mira apologized because she could see that Ray didn’t want her to know about the things she knew now, but Ray swiftly interposed.

"Don’t apologize." Ray opened his eyes and looked at her. "It’s not in your fault you saw everything about me. I couldn’t control my emotions as usual, despite knowing what the bond between us does to you, and since i allowed you to see what you saw, that’s on me."
