Regressor's Harem Of Vengeance

Chapter 74. Moving Forward.

Chapter 74. Moving Forward.

Mira stayed quiet for a moment before asking. "Why didn’t you tell me?" She knew precisely why Ray couldn’t tell her but she couldn’t help asking, simply because she wanted to hear him say it himself.

"How?" Ray drifted his gaze and looked at her. ""How do you explain something impossible? How do you tell someone you died five years in the future and woke up in the past?"

"You could have tried."

"I know."

Both sat in silence and Mira reached out to him and placed her hand on his. "The girl, Sera. The reason you want to find her is because she’s a healer right?"

"Among other reasons, but yes, that’s one of the main reasons why I want to find her."

"And you think she hates the same people you do?"

"She should. I’m sure she wants revenge against them for doing something I’m not sure of yet."

"Do you think we’ll be able to find her?"

"Yes, we should be able to find her, though that won’t be easy."

"But she’s a noble. Do you really believe we can trust her?"

"I’m sure you know I don’t like nobles but I’m not asking her to be my friend or something like that. All I want is for her to tell me what she knows and then we’ll go our separate ways."

"Do you think she’ll tell us what you want her to?"

"Don’t worry, I have my ways."

"Okay, let’s say she tells you everything you want to know, don’t you think the church will hurt her if we go our separate ways?"

"Trust me Mira. She’s a noble and those guys have a disgusting ego and pride that lets them see us as inferior beings to them. We’re the last people she’ll want to see giving her any form of help. So we’ll just find her, get what we want and then we’ll be on our way." Ray muttered softly but even he turned silent as he pondered on if he should really just do what he said he would do.

Sera was a paladin who was really good in combat, healing and brewing potions. She could offer a lot to their group if she joined but Ray was really skeptical about the idea of having a noble in his team.

Yes, she could offer him a lot of benefits and she could really play an important role if she chose to help him fight against his next target.

She could even allow his party to have ready-made potions without him having to pay a fortune for a single mid-grade potion but Ray knew he had to think about this thoroughly before concluding on if Sera should join them or not.

Before anything else, Mira’s safety and that of his family were always going to be his top priority.

Now Mira and Ray were snuggling against each other on the bed, while staring at the ceiling.

"When do we leave?" Mira asked warmly.

"Definitely after the eggs hatched."

"Wouldn’t it affect our chances of finding her?"

"It might, but it is what it is."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean it took three years for the elite party to find her, so that tells us that Sera is definitely not going to be easy to find."

Mira nodded and acknowledged what he said because she knew the two of them would have to start working closely with maps to interpret where Sera had last been sighted, along with where they predict her next likely location would be.

Mira gently squeezed his hand and looked at Ray’s face. "It is settled. We leave when the eggs hatch and then we’ll go find her. Hmm, but wait a minute?"

"What?"

"How do we know how long the eggs have before they hatch?"

"It won’t be more than a week, and even if it’s more than a week, I doubt it would be up to two weeks."

"Alright then, once we leave, we find her, then we’ll definitely save Sera before the inquisitors catch her, and then we’ll make all of our enemies pay.....Together." Mira clenched her fists cutely and Ray couldn’t help but chuckle softly as he asked while looking at her eyes.

"Aren’t you bothered by all these?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean the fact that I died, went back in time, but instead of simply sitting back to relax and forget about my past, I’d rather have my revenge. Yet, you’re in support of this. Don’t you think I might be getting over my head in this vengeance mumbo-jumbo crap?"

Mira smiled softly and shifted closer so that she could stare at Ray directly. "Ray, I saw what they did to you. I watched you die and I felt powerless to do anything about it. Even if we try to run away from them, I doubt the elite party will allow us to live the life we want without getting our fate mixed up with theirs. Besides, I really want to crush their heads for making the man i care about suffer so much. So yeah, I definitely want you to have your revenge."

Ray smiled and pulled her closer to him.

Mira came easily and settled against his chest as her arms wrapped around him comfortably.

Ray held her and felt something in his chest that he didn’t have words for.

It felt like relief but it definitely felt like gratitude as well.

"Thank you..." Ray said into her hair and Mira’s tail curled around his leg.

"You don’t have to thank me for anything."

"I do."

They remained on the bed like that while the rays of the morning sunlight brightened up the room even more.

The eggs glowed in the corner of the room as well, because they had both woken up from their slumber and Ray could already hear the distant sounds of villagers starting their day already, as the village slowly turned noisy with the loud sounds of roosters crowing in the morning.

Moments later, Mira pulled back enough to look at his face as she said. "Alright, we have a lot of work to do today, so let’s get going."
