Chapter 141 141: Ch 141: Take the Hybrids back - Part 1

"What should we do about these creatures? The biggest issue would be food, but I do think we can afford to take in a few more mouths to feed. But I am not sure how good of an idea this is."

Seraphina pointed out as she kept an eye on the creatures standing in front of her. She did not move an inch, and her eyes kept looking at the creatures in front of her with curiosity.

"Food is the real issue here. Since Clara is in charge of our food security, I will leave this up to her to make the decision about whether we should allow these creatures in or not."

Andrew decided before he shot Clara a message.

The drunk female made her way out of the house with a happy smile on her face. But it quickly faded when she saw the creatures in front of her.

"What are these things? Some new kinds of cats…? They look kind of weird."

Clara's unfocused eyes looked at the creature closest to her with a frown. But her inability to control herself made her frown and sway on her feet.

"These creatures are experiments by the Peace Organization. They escaped and came here in order to seek shelter. Since you are the one growing our food, we thought that it would be for the best if you made a decision."

Andrew told Clara, and she blinked to clear her eyes. His words sobered her just a little, and she took a careful look at the creatures in front of her again.

They were cute and fluffy, but there seemed to be a hint of power behind their claws that made her tense up just a little.

But she had always liked cute and fluffy things, and she did want to help others out. So, allowing the alcohol to guide her and give her strength, Clara made a decision.

"I don't mind more mouths to feed. Besides, these kids are cute, and looking at them makes me feel better. So I say we should keep them for now."

She told Andrew with a straight face, and he nodded.

"Alright. Since Clara has decided, I will sign a contract with you for now. You can use one of the smaller shelters as your home for now."

Andrew told the hybrids, and they nodded.

Settling the creatures into their new home did not take long at all. Despite having human-like intelligence, these creatures also retained their previous instincts, and that made it easy to settle them down.

Clara helped as much as she could, but she was more of a disaster than help currently. She almost collapsed while working, and Emperor decided to grab her arm and pull her back home.

"Take her back. We will finish here and head back as well."

Andrew assured Emperor, and he nodded before he left.

Andrew and Seraphina decided to finish work quickly and then headed back as well. And then came the next morning, which started with a loud yell.

"Ahhhhhh-Monster…."

Jenna's voice was so loud that it woke up everyone, and they quickly ran out to see what had spooked her so much.

But it was just the creature from last night that was looking at the yelling human in front of it with a blank look on its face.

"Jenna, do you have to yell so loudly…? Eghhh, my head still hurts. I am not going to get drunk like this again…"

Lilianna complained as she tried to cast her skills on herself. She sobered up quickly and looked at the half-cat-like creature in front of her.

"Ugh, what is going on…? That was not a dream last night?"

Clara questioned as she looked at the creature as well. She half-remembered agreeing to take them in, but most of her memories were blocked by alcohol.

The half-cat creatures bowed to the humans who had agreed to take them in.

[We will be under your protection. Please use us however you like.]

The creatures had understood their purpose and were now obedient.

"Eh, yeah, sure. But first, we need to figure out what you can and cannot eat. So come with me, and we can try-"

Clara took over from there, and Andrew watched this all happening from the sidelines.

High in the sky, the countdown for the next game continued. But until it started, things were likely going to be like this as well-calm and not with a lot of tension.

The labs of the Peace Organization were in an uproar, and for good reason. Something huge had just happened that they had not expected.

"Have you checked the cages? What happened?"

Queen asked with an angry look on her face, and the person briefing her flinched at the look she was getting.

"W-We were just…checking on the experiments…but they were not there…we are so sorry about this…"

The lady apologized to Queen as soon as she felt the chill trying to take her over. She knew about Queen's temper, so the scientist was also sure that today would be her last day…

Unless…

"Queen, this is enough. Our lovely staff is working hard for our sake. Let's not cause them much trouble. Besides, our first priority is to try and find these experiments that have run away."

Thief told Queen, and she nodded and forcefully calmed herself down. But her unhappiness shone clearly through her eyes even as she calmed down.

"Fine. So, what is going to be our next move?"

Queen asked him, and Thief sighed as he planned what to do next.

There were a lot of things to be done. But retrieving those experiments was first on the list.

"We will send Monkey King and the Tracker in order to bring these experiments back. And if they are unable to do that, then they might as well kill these creatures before they are discovered."

The scientist shivered at Thief's cold tone, but she was grateful he had given an order. Neither she nor the other scientists could be this heartless, and that was why he was the perfect person to lead them.
