Reborn as a Weak Earthling, I Became the Most Overpowered Mage Alive

Chapter 136 136: Ch 136: The Loophole

Chapter 136 136: Ch 136: The Loophole

I have informed Andrew that the puppet has started to move. But this direction is…"

Seraphina looked down at the map fragment she had currently obtained, and she felt like it looked familiar. The nagging feeling was not leaving her mind.

Lilianna also looked at the map, and unlike Seraphina, she was able to make a guess.

"Is that puppet…heading for our home base? Is she after that other puppet we found and are keeping hostage?"

It suddenly dawned on Seraphina why that route looked familiar to her.

"Tsk, I will inform everyone about this. We should head back and stop that puppet from destroying our base as soon as possible. We worked too hard on it to let it go to waste."

Seraphina complained as she turned around and ran toward the base. She had already sent the message to others, and she did not doubt that they would see it and come running back as well.

"So this is the place where that stupid puppet ran to? It looks…rather normal…"

The female puppet pushed past the barrier protecting the private property.

[Warning: You are not permitted to be here. A penalty will be imposed on you if you try to break into private land.]

The system warned her not to enter this area. But she was not going to listen and kept pushing in slowly. Her hands sank into the barrier, and she started to break it.

The system went wild, telling her to stop once more.

[A penalty has been imposed on you. All your stats have been cut in half.]

The system reminded her, but the puppet was still going to take this chance and enter. After all, she was not on the verge of dying. Even if she had no power left, the rules of the game would protect her.

[Scanning in progress. Time left: 10 minutes.]

[You have entered the private land. Scanning will be halted due to restricted entry.]

The puppet gritted her teeth as soon as she saw that message. But she was not as disappointed as she was supposed to be about it.

After all, now that she had a general location of her target, all she needed to do was make some noise and bring this place down. That would be enough to drag her comrade outside…or so she hoped.

"Azure flame…arise…"

The puppet allowed her power to start slipping out, and it gathered in her hand, creating a concentrated mass of energy. She allowed it to fall down, and soon, blue fire would dominate the landscape…or so she thought.

But the blue flame collided with a barrier before it faded away. It left the puppet shocked, and she looked around immediately to see what had happened.

"What the-!"

She questioned as she looked at the new person that entered the fight.

The human had his hand stretched out, and the barrier he had produced protected the land. The puppet's senses told her that she was in danger.

But was she in any actual danger? The second this human would try to attack her, he would die. The only thing he could do was try and defend against her.

"Hmm, so you managed to find me? And how are you going to capture me? Human, just let me do what I need to and I will end this game for humans right now."

The female told Andrew without any malice in her voice. She was giving him a choice to make, but she was sure the human would make the right choice.

But the human gave her an intense look, and much to her dismay, he looked to be disinterested in her proposal.

"Tsk, I am not in a mood to listen to you. Nor can I allow you to destroy my home like this."

Andrew told the puppet in a clear voice, but the puppet felt confused.

Even if Andrew wanted to stop her, was there truly anything he could do about the situation? He could not kill her, and she doubted that there would be any other situation in which he would be able to handle her either.

In the end, wasn't this human just trying to throw his life away? That was what it felt like to the puppet, at least.

Sigh

"And here I thought that humans were logical creatures. But if this is what you want, then go ahead. I will not stop you from doing what you want. You can try and capture me…if you are able to."

The puppet accepted Andrew's challenge, and Andrew smiled at her.

"I have no need for your acceptance."

He told the puppet, and she instinctively took a step back. The next second, Andrew threw something at her, and she felt startled. Something snapped in place around her, and all her connection to the system got cut off.

The puppet collapsed on the ground, no longer able to move, and when she tried to break free of her binds, she was unable to.

"Stop trying to resist now. These traps were purchased from the system using too much money. I am happy to see that they are seeing some use at least."

The puppet suddenly realized that trying to get free was of no use to her. So she stopped and gave Andrew a look.

"How are you not dead? You clearly tried to kill me, so the rules should have torn you apart. How did you survive?"

The puppet asked, only for Andrew to smile at her.

"Hmm, let's just say that I have found a loophole, and you will no longer be able to harm me. Does that answer your question? If so, then sit down. There is much we need to discuss."

Andrew told the bound puppet, but she looked suspicious. She was not willing to trust Andrew just because he told her some words.

Not that Andrew cared. The others had started to come back as well, and he had gained what he needed to from this interaction.

He had planted a seed of doubt in the female puppet's mind regarding himself. And all it had taken him was his use of 'Invulnerability.'

'This will not work again, but at least it served its purpose this time.'

I'll go on a short break after this.
