Chapter 135 135: Ch 135: Game 12 Last Round

Chapter 135 135: Ch 135: Game 12 Last Round

[Scanning in Progress. Time needed to complete the Scan: 30 minutes.]

The puppet cursed as she looked at the system screen. She was almost at the end, and all she needed was a little more time to get her formula right.

But that was the problem here. She was not able to get the time she needed to complete the scan…unless…

'I need to make this round a little longer than the others. I have already begun to look for the location of the missing puppet.'

The female puppet sighed before she started to prepare for the last game. She just needed to buy enough time for this scan to complete.

"Alright, since you all made it to the last round, it is time to up the stakes. Simon says, we shall play hide-and-seek. You have one hour to find me and 'capture me.' When someone finally does capture me, the game will be over."

It was a cruel condition, and the humans looked worried about their chances.

"Capture the game master? Aren't we all dead?"

"Is there anyone powerful enough to capture her?"

People asked while looking at her, but the puppet did not answer them. Instead, she looked at the system window and its message. The single line looking back at her told her that this was not a good idea.

[Due to your current conditions, the system will put a restriction on you.]

[You can now participate in the current game as a boss. Your level will be reduced to level 30.]

The puppet instantly felt weaker as all of her power was sucked out by the system. But she knew she needed to endure this for the sake of her people.

[This last round will start in 3…2…1…go]

The puppet slapped her hands together, and a dense fog started to cover her body. Soon, she disappeared, and humans were left looking at their system screens for an answer.

"Where did she disappear to? Should we go and look for her?"

"But where do we even look for her? It's not like we can use the map to track her down or anything…"

People sounded worried as they discussed their next course of action, and Andrew was no different.

"This is the end, right? There is no way any of us can catch a creature like a puppet…and that is assuming we find her first. Is this the end for humans?"

Jenna asked in a worried voice. She was just voicing the same concerns everyone had, but she was the only one brave enough to come out and say this.

"Tsk, this is a game. The system is not unreasonable enough to make it unwinnable for us. If my memory serves me right, then there must be some clues left behind for us in order to find that puppet."

Emperor pointed out with a clear voice.

This game had happened in one of his earlier regressions, but his memory of it was not really clear.

The only thing he knew was that someone had managed to find the puppet and alert everyone, which had caused them all to gang up on her.

'But wasn't the task to only find the puppet last time? Why did she add the "capture" part this time?'

Emperor was not sure about it, so he decided to stay alert about any danger that could arise with this change.

"Emperor, you and the others try to look for clues. Clara, you should try to check with your powers. I will try to see if I can find anything as well."

"You can find that puppet?"

Jenna asked, her voice filled with disbelief, and Andrew suddenly noticed that this was an opportunity.

So he did not miss the chance and took it.

"I do have my ways. I am sure I can find the puppet quite easily."

Andrew told everyone, and he saw only a handful of doubtful looks around him. Most people believed that he had a way to locate the puppet, so his ability should have triggered.

Unfortunately, Andrew did not get his way this time.

"Both Clara and I will start looking for the puppet now. We all should split up as well."

Andrew told everyone, and they quickly slipped away to find more clues.

"I will begin now as well."

Clara told Andrew with a clear look on her face. She closed her eyes and concentrated on her own powers, but the area she was scanning was too huge for her. She could only look for so much before she was forced to stop since she felt lightheaded.

"Clara, are you alright…?"

Andrew asked her, and Clara nodded. But her body told Andrew a different story. It was swaying in the wind, and Clara was doing her best to keep herself in check.

"I am fine…for now. But the earth is too huge for me to scan by myself."

She admitted, and Andrew bit his lip. For the first time in forever, he felt at a stalemate, and the 'Truth-and-Lies' was not taking any effect.

Just as he felt like he was stuck, he got a message on the system. It was from Seraphina.

[We found a way to get clues for this round. I will share it with you. Follow the map, and we should find the puppet.]

The map appeared on Andrew's screen, and it showed the puppet heading toward their property. It did not seem like it was a random direction either.

'Thinking back about it, wasn't the puppet busy with her system this whole time? She looked to be in a hurry, almost as if she was trying to find something…'

It quickly clicked in Andrew's mind what this could have been about, and he dragged Clara back to her feet.

"Tsk, I cannot believe that I did not realize what was going on…"

He complained as he dragged Clara behind him. She did not ask any questions and followed Andrew as he ran back toward their home.
