Chapter 131 131: Ch 131: Game 12

The skill's effect took hold quickly, but Andrew had no chance to display his skills before the chief of Sector V arrived.

He had a lot of people behind him, all waiting for his orders to start working.

"Sir Andrew, we are here. The people who have signed the contract. The rest are looking it over, but I was not sure whether we would need that many people at the start or not."

There seemed to be around 10k people, and that looked like a lot at first glance. But the land they needed to take care of was truly too big…

'I will leave it up to Clara. It is her expertise…'

"Clara, take charge of the situation. You would have better knowledge of how to divide the labor."

He told her, and she nodded.

"I will see to it."

That was how the next week went. With a lot of hard work and resources, the land they had cultivated finally started to bear fruit, and the harvest began to come in just in time for the people of Sector V to start running out of food.

And just like that, this new supply created a ray of hope for these people.

"Thank you so much. I have no idea how we will ever repay you. But if there is anything we can do, please do tell us."

The chief sounded beyond thankful for this new supply of his, and Andrew just nodded at him.

"I will count on your help when we need it. What other plans do you have for this settlement?"

He asked the chief, who took some time to think. But he soon came to a conclusion.

"Now that we have food, we will start fixing the shelter around this place. Humanity needs to return back to civilization, even among the system and these games. Once again, thank you for your help."

The chief sounded beyond grateful, and Andrew nodded.

There was still a long way to go in order to organize a steady food supply in this region, but this was at least a start.

"We will take our leave now. Clara will continue to check on the farmland as much as she can. But you should buy protection for this farm at least. It would be a shame if it got plundered by others."

Andrew reminded the chief, and he nodded.

They took out some time for the last mini-game, but it was not remarkable in any way.

Once their work was done, Andrew and the others quickly returned back to their base.

"Ugh, just how much did I have to work this time around? I feel like I am dying. Lily, can you help me out here, please…?"

Clara asked, turning her eyes toward Lilianna, asking for her help. Lilianna looked startled, but she ultimately sighed and nodded.

"Alright, I will help you out. We can't have you down before the next game."

She agreed, and Clara gave her a huge smile.

"Thanks. Then, I will count on your help."

Lilianna shook her head fondly as she helped Clara out. They were all finally back home, and the tension slowly melted away from everyone's frame.

"Let's get some rest now. The next game will start in a short while."

Seraphina recommended, and everyone went back to their rooms.

__________

The sun was bright in the sky when the sky turned red and the rift opened. The timer on the system's clock hit zero, and finally, it was time for Game 12 to begin.

After a whole month of only mini-games, the system had finally restarted its tyranny. The puppet from before tore the sky open and appeared in the human world.

[Hello everyone. Have you missed me? I apologize that it took so long to make preparations. But there were some adjustments we had to make before the next game.]

The puppet spoke before she snapped her fingers together.

Everyone braced themselves to be transported, but nothing happened. They did not move from their place and looked at each other with an awkward expression.

"What is going on here?"

"Are we not going to participate in the games?"

"Are we still on Earth?"

People asked in a hurried voice, and the puppet chose to answer them.

"The committee has decided that humanity has been given more than enough time to adjust to the games. From here on, games will alternate between real Earth and the game-space we have provided for you."

The message was clear, but the implications of it horrified everyone.

"Wait-! No way-! What will happen to our homes and bases? They might get destroyed…"

People yelled back at the puppet, but neither she nor the system seemed to care.

"I am afraid that it is your own problem. If you are worried about your stuff breaking, you can pay the protection fee for the system to protect it. For now, we should start this game."

The puppet spoke, and the system buzzed before it sprang to life.

[Game 12 starts: Simon Says.]

[-The game master will give you a command. You need to follow it within the given time. If you fail to do so, then you gain a strike. 3 strikes, and you will lose the game and your life.

-Please follow the game's commands and level up. The goal is to level up higher than the game master. You can do this by following the tasks or seizing the throne of the current game master.

-Total rounds to play - 5]

"What an annoying game. The game master can ask us to do anything here…"

"Has everyone learned the rules…? Then I will present my first command. Simon says…you cannot harm the game master in any way. This will not be a strike, but instant death."

[The first rule has been cemented. Round 1 complete.]

"Just what is this puppet planning to do here? I cannot help but feel like she has an objective…"

Lilianna complained as she looked up. She was not the only one who felt like this. The others had noticed it as well.

But for now, it was too early to say anything for certain.

Was this just a game…or something more?
