Chapter 128 128: Ch 128: Bug Mini game- Part 3

"H-Hey, now that I think about it, it does not sound that bad, right? If we get captured, then we will get food and we will be taken care of as well. Should we just get captured…?"

Jenna asked in a terrified voice as the mental image of someone getting crushed embedded itself inside her mind. She did not want to see anything like that again. Her chest hurt and her head throbbed, causing her to rub her face.

"If you want to get captured, then do it yourself. I have no desire to find out what the hell will happen to me if I do get caught."

Andrew told her, and Jenna suddenly went quiet. She was speaking a lot, but she was terrified as well about her situation. She had no idea how she would ever be able to overcome her fear…

"My lovely bug, where are you? I will find you and capture you…"

The giant webbed hand parted the trees in order to find more humans, and Jenna froze in place. Luckily for her, Andrew managed to pull her to safety before she could be captured.

[Time remaining: 1 hour 15 minutes.]

The creature kept looking around the forest, trying to catch any human it could come across. And unfortunately, some of the humans came into contact with him.

"I-Is there nothing we can do here?"

Jenna asked, and Andrew looked at her.

"There…might be something we can do. We can poison that creature so that it will leave us alone. I have some in my inventory. But to do that, I need to make sure that the hand is close to us."

The barrier around the space prevented players from being able to attack the creature trying to capture them. But the only rule of this game was to survive and not leave the area.

It never said anything about not harming the creature.

"W-We need to get close to that thing? No way-! There is no way…"

Jenna complained, only to realize what Andrew was asking of her.

"I am not putting myself in danger…"

She spoke softly, but the longer Andrew looked at her with that blank expression, the more she felt like she had no choice.

Just as they were discussing this, the tree above their heads parted, and the creature looked down at them.

"I found you…"

The jar headed their way, and Andrew threw Jenna back and quickly dodged as well.

"I will go for you first."

The jar headed toward Jenna, and Andrew immediately started his plan. He took out the poison from his inventory and used his magic to aim it.

The wind magic he used made a small cut on the creature's hand, and the poison landed directly on the wound.

"Ouch-! It hurts… It burns… what did you do…?"

The creature asked as he dropped the jar and clutched his hand close to his chest in pain.

Jenna, who had been captured, was suddenly thrown down, and she let out a gasp as her body hit the ground.

Her relief at finally being freed did not last long. The creature started to thrash around and throw things at them.

"Y-You… What did you do? Ahhh, it hurts so much. I am going to kill you all. I am going to-!"

Andrew pulled Jenna close and immediately deployed his barrier around them. It protected the pair long enough for the creature to calm down…

No, rather than calm down, it was as if the creature lost all his energy and collapsed. The poison had finally made its way through his system.

[Time remaining: 1 hour]

[You have achieved an unbelievable feat. A new title will be granted to you.]

[Kill the Captor (A) - Increase the survivability odds in dangerous situations by 5%.]

One hour left, and they had no one to hunt them down. It was finally over for them.

For the remainder of that hour, they waited until the system announcement came and informed them that the mini-game was finally over.

[Time remaining: 0 seconds]

[Mini-game is over. You will be rewarded 50,000 system gold.]

"A-Are we done…?"

Jenna asked as she looked at her reward. It was a lot of money, but she felt numb just seeing it. Just the thought of spending this hard-earned money made her stomach twist.

But between money and her life, she would always choose her life. She closed her eyes for a second, and the next time she opened them, she saw Andrew's face looming over her.

"We are done here. Let's head back and work on your stamina and endurance. Your performance this time was really bad."

Andrew's words caused Jenna's current feelings to be replaced by shock and annoyance. She wanted to grab something and throw it at Andrew, but she quickly calmed herself down.

'This is fine. I am an adult. I need to let things like this go…'

Jenna reminded herself and took a deep breath. She took Andrew's offered hand and pulled herself back up.

"Ugh, let's just go back. I want to eat something good. Do you think the others are back as well? And what do you think happened to the players that got captured?"

She asked, and Andrew unfortunately only had an answer for her first question.

"I am sure the others are back already."

He told her as they walked back to the base.

"Hmm, I got so many specimens all of a sudden. I knew that holding these mini-games was the right decision. Unfortunately, I was not able to do much more. Don't you think it's such a pity as well?"

The man tied to the table looked up at the doctor with horrified eyes. He tried to speak as well, but his voice was muffled.

"Oh-! You are rather energetic today. That's good. It means that my medicine will work even better. Now, show me the results of my labor."

The doctor spoke to his patient as he injected him slowly. The patient protested one last time before his body went still.

"So, it's another failed experiment this time, huh? Oh well, I am sure I will find the right body soon enough. Perhaps that 'Mark Dawson' might be the right choice for all this."
