Chapter 127 127: Ch 127: Bug Mini game- Part 2
[Mini-game starts in 3…2…1…Go.]
The space around the players shone white, and the park disappeared into a forested area. A loud giggling voice reached everyone's ears, and they immediately looked up, only to see a jar heading toward them.
Andrew grabbed Jenna's arm and pulled her out of the way of the jar, and most players dodged it as well.
But a handful were caught by it.
[Mini-game details: Dodge the jar. Objective: Survive without getting caught for 2 hours. You won't be able to escape the perimeter.]
[Time remaining: 1 hour 58 minutes.]
It was a simple game this time. But the limited perimeter made it a little harder to play.
Not to mention, the creatures hunting them were far too big for anyone to take on. Those inhuman eyes looked at them again, and the jar came back.
"I see more bugs here. Hurry, everyone, come and take a look."
The creature asked the others to come and join him, and more creatures quickly headed toward their grass patch with happy looks.
"Hmm, but there are not a lot of bugs here. My patch has a lot. I will go back and catch them there."
"I also have more. I bet I will catch more than you can."
The creatures laughed as they quickly went back, and everyone around Andrew let out a sigh of relief at that. At least they would not be targeted by more than one creature.
But the sudden interaction had soured the mood of the creature hunting their patch of grass.
"What do these kids mean by that? I have a lot of unique bigs in my patch. I will catch them all and show the other kids."
The jar came back and headed toward Andrew and Jenna. Andrew pushed Jenna away to help her dodge the jar, and it landed between them.
"Awww, I missed this time. But I won't miss it next time. I will catch you and show you off to my friends. They will be so jealous…"
The kid started to aim excessively for Jenna, and she let out a sobbing yell.
"S-Stay away from me. Do not come near me…did you hear? Ahhh, someone, save me…"
She yelled as she tried to get away from the jar. But it was of no use. No matter how much she yelled, her voice would not be heard by the creature trying to capture her.
"Andrew, do something. I will be eliminated at this rate."
Seeing how she was not able to do anything herself, Jenna quickly turned to the one person who could help her out-Andrew.
She was desperate to have anyone help her at this point.
'Hmm, should I save her? If I do, then she will forever be dependent on me. Jenna needs to see how powerless she is…'
Before Andrew knew it, his body was moving, and he formed a barrier around Jenna just big enough for the jar to not be able to fit over her head.
"Hurry up and come this way."
He called out to her, and Jenna let out a sob before she ran toward him through the barrier opening, and Andrew caught her arm.
The creature trying to capture her looked startled by what had happened and looked at his jar.
"Huh-! Is this jar broken? I am sure I caught that bug…maybe I should try again…"
The kid whispered in a slightly annoyed voice, and Jenna slowly calmed down. Her eyes turned to Andrew with gratitude and sincerity.
"Y-You saved me…thank you…"
Jenna's legs gave out, and she leaned her weight against Andrew. Her whole body was pressed against his, and even as she tried to stand, she was unable to.
"Gather yourself. This game has just started."
Andrew reminded Jenna, and she nodded as she pushed herself back onto her feet. She looked at the creature looming over their heads, and he let out a sigh, almost as if he were tired.
"This is not good. That was my only jar…you all stay here. I will go and get more jars."
The creature said as he stood up and left them alone.
There was a sigh of relief, but it did not last long. The kid came back quickly and had a bigger jar with him this time.
"I am sure I will catch a lot of bugs with this. Now…which one should I go for next…?"
The kid asked and brought the jar down on another player. The player dodged the jar and immediately attacked the creature back.
The creature trying to capture them let out a pained yelp.
"Ouch-! It hurts…! Did I get stung? Ugh, I am done playing nice. I no longer want to capture you bugs. If you don't want to get caught by me, then you all can die by my hands."
The creature yelled and inverted his jar. He had decided to kill them all. The jar came down over them so fast that no one noticed what was happening until it was too late.
One of the people got crushed under the weight of the jar and instantly died.
"Hehehehe…I got my revenge. Now, will you all behave, or do I need to teach you how to behave as well?"
The creature asked in a calm voice, but his actions were anything but calm.
"W-What do we do? Are we going to be next? I-I don't want to die…"
Someone yelled from the other side of the forest, and the creature hunting them let out a giggle.
"Don't worry. If you become a part of my collection, then I will take care of you. I will give you enough to eat, and you will be allowed to rest for the remainder of your life. You just need to submit…"
The jar came back, and this time, one of the players obediently allowed himself to be caught, and no one saw what happened to him next.
"Alright, one is done. Now, who will be next…? Don't be shy. I will take good care of you."
