Chapter 852: Beset with Troubles
Chapter 852: Beset with Troubles
Ophelia Wilson has been taken away for investigation, and the most nervous person is naturally Chaya Davis.Others might not know the truth, but she surely does.
If she doesn’t do something, she’s definitely the one who’ll be in trouble.
So, she immediately went to the Wilson Clan.
"You still have the face to come here?" Old Mrs. Wilson was furious upon seeing Chaya Davis. Remembering the last time they went to Charles Seymour’s house looking for Sophie Wilson, which ended in shame, her rage was yet to dissipate.
Now seeing the culprit, Old Mrs. Wilson was already being very restrained by not throwing her out.
"Madam, you’d better find a way to smooth things over about Ophelia, or else be prepared for a scorched earth!" Chaya Davis ignored Old Mrs. Wilson’s angry expression, sneering as she threatened, "If anything happens to me, Emerie Wilson won’t fare well either!"
"Child trafficking is a crime, be careful or I’ll spill everything!"
Chaya Davis’s words made Old Mrs. Wilson tremble with anger as she cursed, "Nonsense, what child trafficking? Emerie never sold a child back then!"
"I don’t care!" Chaya Davis sneered, "Think about it, can Emerie’s current health handle any shock? If you’re not afraid she’ll get sick, then go ahead and try!"
"You, you..." Old Mrs. Wilson was trembling all over with anger.
Chaya Davis didn’t care if she angered Old Mrs. Wilson into illness; she was concerned about whether she could escape punishment: "Madam, you’d better think it over carefully."
After leaving her harsh words, Chaya Davis left. She knew she was bound to be implicated, whether she could escape depended on what the Wilsons would do.
Old Mrs. Wilson had no choice but to call Old Mrs. Wilson.
"She’s crazy, and you’re going to go crazy with her?" Old Mrs. Wilson was exasperated. The company’s issues had him at his wit’s end; how could he deal with this?
"How am I crazy? Would you just stand by and watch Emerie get into trouble?" Old Mrs. Wilson shouted even more angrily.
Old Mrs. Wilson held the phone while surrounded by people from the company: "... Take a look at this document..."
"There are some issues with the previous raw materials, the supplier says..."
"Our latest product..."
Old Mrs. Wilson, being of advanced age, really couldn’t manage running the company again.
He was worn out from busy company affairs, and the commotion at home was the last straw, the proverbial one that broke the camel’s back, causing him to black out, followed by the sounds of people gasping in surprise, and he knew nothing more.
When Old Mrs. Wilson opened his eyes again, he saw the pale ceiling of the hospital.
"You’re finally awake." Old Mrs. Wilson said joyfully and quickly called the doctor.
After the doctor checked and confirmed there were no problems, they left.
"Dad, how are you feeling?" Emerie Wilson asked worriedly.
Old Mrs. Wilson felt as if a heavy stone was pressing on his chest, making it hard to breathe. He shook his head in exhaustion without saying a word.
"Dad, have some water." Benjamin Walton brought a straw-equipped water bottle close to Old Mrs. Wilson’s mouth.
Old Mrs. Wilson managed to drink a few sips, easing his dry throat a bit. He surveyed the situation in the hospital room, frowning, and asked, "Did Mason not come?"
As soon as Old Mrs. Wilson asked, Old Mrs. Wilson turned to Emerie Wilson: "Emerie, I told you to inform your brother, did you?"
