Chapter 853: An Overambitious Heart
Chapter 853: An Overambitious Heart
"I called him, but I’m not sure if he’ll come." Emerie said innocently."Mom, my brother only has eyes for Sophie now, he doesn’t care about you or Dad." Emerie snorted disdainfully.
Just because of Sophie, look, it’s made their family restless. How good they were together before.
"Dad, look at my brother, once he saw Charles was capable, he rushed to suck up to him, ignoring us." Emerie scoffed contemptuously, "My brother sucking up to his own son-in-law? Honestly... Saying it out loud, it’s shameful!"
"Do you think I want to have a sister who would give away her own niece?" The hospital room door opened, and Mason walked in from outside, glaring coldly at Emerie.
Emerie wasn’t afraid of Mason anymore, retorting defiantly, "That happened so long ago, why bring it up again? Are you bored or what?"
What shameless words!
Mason couldn’t be bothered with Emerie; ever since she married Benjamin, she had gone astray.
"Dad, how are you?" Mason looked down at Old Mr. Wilson lying on the hospital bed.
Old Mr. Wilson struggled to breathe and said, "Mason, I’m getting old. I can’t manage the company anymore. Come home quickly, do you really want to watch our company collapse? You’ve devoted decades of effort to it!"
Mason’s expression softened a bit, looking at his elderly father with snow-white hair and wrinkles all over his face; to say he wasn’t saddened would be a lie.
"Yes, brother, come back to the company quickly. Dad’s been exhausted these days, look, his body can’t handle such strain." Benjamin stepped forward to persuade.
Emerie became anxious upon hearing that and quickly said, "Hmph, my brother’s still mad at me, will he come back? Besides, my brother has attached himself to some powerful figures now, will he return to the company? I bet he doesn’t think much of the Wilson Corporation anymore."
Mason glanced at Emerie without speaking, it seemed Emerie’s ambitions had grown.
"Dad, why don’t you let Benjamin handle the company." Emerie said with a smile, "Anyway, my brother doesn’t care about our company, why should we warm up to someone who doesn’t appreciate it?"
Mason lowered his gaze, a mocking sneer flashed in his eyes; ambitions may grow, but foolishness remains.
"Nonsense!" Old Mr. Wilson scolded, "Doesn’t Benjamin have a company to manage?"
"Dad, what’s the big deal? Benjamin is capable, managing two companies isn’t a problem for him!" Emerie said confidently, "Dad, just leave the company to Benjamin."
Old Mr. Wilson was infuriated by Emerie’s foolish suggestion. Ignoring her, he fixed his gaze on Benjamin intensely: "Benjamin, is that what you want?"
"Dad, I definitely don’t mean that." Benjamin wasn’t foolish, he understood the implications of Old Mr. Wilson’s question.
Worried he wanted to take over the Wilson Corporation.
"Dad, this isn’t Benjamin’s idea, it’s mine!" Emerie said, "I just don’t understand, my brother doesn’t care about the company, your health is poor, what’s wrong with letting Benjamin manage it?"
"Am I not a daughter of the Wilsons? Dad, you can’t be so biased, leaving everything to my brother while I get nothing." Emerie’s words were unbearable for Old Mrs. Wilson, who admonished, "Emerie, shut your mouth!"
