Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap

Chapter 1057: Nothing Important

Chapter 1057: Nothing Important

Worried that it might be easier to be recognized in busy areas, Alice Turner deliberately chose a somewhat secluded restaurant called Fragrance Court. Although the location isn’t ideal, the business is booming and it’s almost always packed every evening and weekend.

Alice Turner had come here a few times with colleagues, and she thought the food was excellent. Today, she brought Lily Turner here to lower the chances of Lily being recognized while letting her little sister try the food; both reasons weighed equally.

"Sis! This restaurant looks pretty nice, why are there so few diners here?" Although it was peak dining time, the restaurant wasn’t very crowded, most seats were still vacant. Lily Turner glanced around the somewhat empty restaurant and tugged on her sister’s clothes, asking softly.

Alice Turner glanced at her confused sister and explained: "Because of its location, fewer people come here for lunch. But if you come in the evening or on weekends, the crowds would overwhelm you."

While speaking, she led her sister to a private room on the second floor. Few people didn’t mean complete safety, so they preferred to dine in a private room for increased safety.

After her sister’s explanation, Lily Turner felt a bit doubtful but didn’t ask further and followed her sister upstairs.

"Give us the menu, we’ll order by ourselves and send it out when we’re done." Worrying that the waiter might recognize Lily Turner, Alice Turner instructed the waiter who had come in to leave the room. After the waiter closed the door and left, she took the menu and sat down with Lily Turner.

Just as they sat down, Alice Turner’s phone suddenly rang. She had a premonition that it was Thomas Fisher calling.

She took the phone out from her bag, and indeed it was him calling. Her slender fingers swiped across the screen, answering the call, "Hello!"

She didn’t intentionally avoid her sister sitting beside her, answering the call while seated.

"Did you call me earlier? Is there anything? I was in a meeting and left my phone at the office, I just saw it." Thomas Fisher spoke nothing but the truth; he was indeed in a meeting and left his phone behind. Upon returning to his office and seeing Alice Turner’s call, he immediately called back.

Alice Turner glanced at Lily Turner beside her and replied, "There’s nothing urgent, just letting you know that you don’t need to pick me up after work, now..."

"Did something happen?" Thomas Fisher anxiously interrupted before Alice Turner could finish, his voice laden with deep concern.

Though unable to see the person on the other end, Alice Turner still felt the man’s worry and urgency, quickly speaking, "No, nothing happened. I just took a day off from work and am not at the company. I’m with Lily now, we need to talk."

She spoke very quickly this time, not giving him a chance to interrupt.

"Oh, I thought..." Thomas Fisher didn’t finish his sentence, relieved that what he feared hadn’t occurred.

Alice Turner knew what Thomas Fisher was worried about. Not continuing with the heavy topic, she changed the subject, "You must be exhausted after the meeting, take a break and go have dinner soon."
