Raising A Few Wives in a Beast Apocalypse

Chapter 545 544: All hell broke loose

Chapter 545 544: All hell broke loose

"Tsk. Like you'd ever be pissed off like that" Jade replied in an unbothered voice.

"You're right. I normally wouldn't be bothered. But normally I wouldn't have lost a brother trying to find you since you disappeared without saying a word" Klaus replied. His voice was as serious as before.

Hearing his words made Jade's heart skip a beat. Even the others who were listening in couldn't help but start to get worried.

"Huh? What do you mean? What happened to big brother Chris?" Jade asked in a completely different tone as if she was about to jump into the phone and appear on the other side.

"Oh, now you care. Well, what happened is completely your fault. What were you trying to accomplish by just disappearing like that?" Klaus added in a blaming voice without clarifying.

His voice even cracked a bit to show how emotional he was as he was obviously blaming Jade for whatever it was.

"What do you mean? What happened damn it!?" Jade asked in a voice that suggested that she had completely lost it.

And she had. She just wanted to know what had happened and Klaus was constantly beating around the bush and not saying anything.

"Don't shout at me! This is your fault! You want to know what happened? Well, what happened is that... I'm messing with you. That's what happened! So how are you doing little sis? How's brother-in-law and the others?" Klaus replied heatedly.

"You bastard! I hate you! I thought Chris was dead or something" Jade cursed angrily.

She should have known that it was a prank from the start. There was no way he would have spoken like that if something had really happened.

If it was in the past she would have picked it up. But it seemed she was out of practice due to the 20 years they spent apart.

"Hahahaha. I know! It sounded like you were ready to rip me apart for not telling you what you wanted to know. I was actually surprised that I managed to fool you so easily actually. Has it really been that long?" Klaus replied in a pleased voice.

"Tsk. So Chris is fine?" Jade still couldn't relax until that was confirmed.

"Oh, he's completely fine. He just lost a leg a while back on a mission but that happens to all of us right?" Klaus continued speaking in a cheery voice.

"What?!" Jade really felt like strangling her brother at the moment.

It seems she had forgotten how annoying he could be due to the long separation.

"No it's not! When has that ever happened to you or anyone you know?!" Jade exploded angrily on the call.

"Ah. I suppose you're right. But he's alive isn't he? He was healed after and the leg grew back so..." Klaus replied in a completely unbothered voice.

"...." Jade cut the call before she completely lost it.

On the other side...

"Hello. Hello? Jade?... Oh, she cut the call. Hehe. That was fun. Exactly what I needed on this boring day. It seems they are finally coming back into the picture. I wonder how they will change the playing field. I can't wait!" Klaus spoke to himself while looking at his brother outside the semi-transparent black and white barrier he created around himself.

That's right. Chris was actually there. But Klaus blocked him out with a barrier while he started messing with Jade.

The barrier might not have been as strong as Chris' specialised barrier at the same level, but he was stronger than Chris so he could keep him out.

It was also specially soundproof. It blocked out outside sound but let inside sound go out. So Chris could hear everything.

This of course made him fume as much as Jade.

But Klaus didn't care. Nothing made him happier than pissing off both his siblings at the same time.

A few seconds later his phone rang again.

This time it wasn't Jade but Muku. Which he kinda expected really.

Hell, he was already thinking of how he was going to bribe Jade into forgiving him when they met next since that's the least it would take.

She might even try to beat him up the moment they meet. Fortunately, he was pretty confident in his running away skills....

"Hello, brother-in-law. How have you been?" Klaus asked as soon as he answered the call.

"I'm good. You?" Muku replied in a slightly awkward voice since Jade was giving him a death glare.

Probably because she didn't want anyone to talk to Klaus after what he did to her.

But unfortunately, Muku had to talk to him. Chris hated him and the two of them just didn't click. Scarlett and Genevieve were out t of the question. Not only did they not have phones but even if they did, they were less familiar with him than Chris.

On the other hand, Klaus is his sworn brother and also the best source for any information they might want. So it was unavoidable.

"I'm great now that I know that you're all fine. You kinda disappeared on us for 2 years without saying anything and wouldn't pick up calls in case you didn't notice" Klaus replied in a cheery but slightly hateful voice.

It seems he was genuinely holding a bit of anger because of the situation. Which was completely justified.

"I understand. That makes complete sense. And I want you to know that it wasn't intentional. We kinda had to lock in for a bit. No one thought to contact anyone actually. As for not answering calls, that wasn't intentional. We haven't actually used our phones at all in the last two years so..." Muku explained.

And that was the truth. Other than that time he taught Althea about phones, he really hadn't used it at all.

And Klaus along with Chris only contacted Jade, so he wasn't in the know. Maybe if they had contacted him, he might have gotten back to them at that point.

"Is that so? Well, this definitely sounds like a tale I'd be interested in. Let's talk about it as soon as you get here. When can I expect you? We're currently in the Mayan Kingdom. What about you?" Klaus asked curiously.

His negative emotions completely gone. It seems he only needed that little explanation.

Then again, he was a man. And that's all men need.

"See that's the thing. We're off-world. Been off-world for the last two years. I don't even know what this Mayan Kingdom you're talking about is... Can you tell me everything that happened since the first R7 appeared if you don't mind?" Muku explained.

"Oh my. It seems the tale is juicier than I expected. Now I really can't wait. But fine, we'll discuss that later. For now, I'll tell you all you need to know so you can get here sooner..." Klaus replied with a voice tinged with curiosity.

Muku waited silently for him to continue.

"What happened after the first R7 appeared... Who shockingly wasn't any of you, which I'm now thinking might not have been the real first, was quite interesting. An announcement rang out in all our ears like usual when the damned AI is announcing how shittier our lives are about to get..." Klaus didn't waste time explaining....

....

Flashback of the day (not just of what Klaus knows)...

Legion reached R7 after harassing, destroying, and consuming all Tactoa bases apart from the headquarters.

All the bases had many individuals with traces of the Monarch's power. And it all made Legion stronger to the point of breaking through on that day...

As soon as it did, its monster-like appearance changed.

It turned more humanoid. Almost human in fact. Just that its skin was still obsidian black while real humans were shades of brown and a few ones that were pinkish and yellowish.

And its eyes were completely black with no irises. Its body was almost bone thin. With arms slightly longer than humans with sharp claws at the end. Then there was that red line that went down its midsection that didn't go away. Of course it was genderless... It looked like an evil spirit honestly.

Anyway, after it advanced, the sky turned pitch black.

Then more than a thousand portals appeared all over the planet.

Most of the portals started pouring out R7s. Then came out the R8s who were a quarter of the R7s.

After that came a hundred R9s. Their auras instantly suppressed all life on the planet and spread to all the planets in the solar system and beyond.

In fact, most of the galaxy was covered by their suppressive auras. That's how strong they were.

But it didn't stop there. Before they could start causing mayhem, cracks appeared in space, and random solid grounds all over the world started collapsing.

From which humans, elves, vampires, and orcs ranging from unranked to R9 started popping out.

Their numbers weren't as much as the beasts, but they had tools and formations that made them just as oppressive.

Immediately, all hell broke loose...
