Chapter 833 830: Time Flies (4)

Chapter 833 830: Time Flies (4)

Charles didn't speak, just nodded heavily, casting a grateful look at Camila Ruiz.

This was the first meeting between the two of them.

After dinner, of course, Camila went to the Horne Family.

She hadn't seen Ivan Horne for a long time, with many heartfelt thoughts to share with him.

Upon arriving at the Horne Family, Julia Bluen immediately greeted her warmly.

Seeing that she hadn't lost weight and her complexion was even rosier, she seemed a bit more mature, Julia felt relieved and left her alone with Ivan.

Ivan, much like his father, liked to climb to the rooftop and gaze at the sky and the earth whether there was something to do or not.

At the moment, he and Camila were leisurely sitting on lounge chairs by the swimming pool, both holding a bottle of drink, sipping as they chatted.

"Camila, is Billy doing okay?" Ivan turned with a smile to gaze at her, his deep eyes reflecting warmth toward Camila, his handsome face becoming more radiant with his smile.

Camila smiled, "You guess."

"That place should have become his domain by now," Ivan chuckled lowly. He knew his cousin well. Even if he hadn't heard from him in ten years, he guessed his cousin would definitely survive the base, probably having already turned it into his own ground.

"Pretty much."

Ivan took a sip of his drink, suddenly leaned over, his handsome face closing in on Camila, eyes looking at her with a hint of gossip, teasingly asking, "Camila, hasn't Billy said anything to you?"

"What do you think he should say to me, Brother Ivan?" Camila playfully retorted. Facing his close-up handsome face, she felt no discomfort, unlike the blush she showed when facing Billy, she was utterly composed.

"For example, a confession or something."

"Brother Ivan!" Camila's face instantly turned red.

She knew nothing could be hidden from this clever and shrewd young man.

From her reaction, Ivan got his answer, chuckling lowly again, "Billy is really something, setting a wife so young. Where does that leave me? Who knows which corner my future wife is in, whether I can find a wife is still a question," Ivan sighed, looking forlorn, making Camila laugh and cry at his act.

The way he talks makes himself seem so pitiful, but if he wanted to marry, women eager to join the Horne Family could line up from the city's east gate to the west.

"Brother Ivan, do you want to pick a wife too?" Camila said crossly.

Ivan grinned cheekily, "If there's someone truly unique, I'd consider."

"What do you mean by unique? If you really like someone, she's unique."

"Oh, two months without meeting, my little sister Camila has become a love expert."

Ivan teased.

He wasn't interested in women, partly because he was still too young, unlike Jimmy Horne who had such concerns. For fifteen years, the only one he treated kindly was Camila, but his feelings were fraternal, affectionate to his bones, not romantic.

"You just love to tease people."

Camila glared at him.

"Alright, I won't tease you anymore. Billy probably won't return anytime soon, how many years will you wait for him?" Ivan turned to another topic.

Camila composed her expression, shaking her head.

She didn't know how many years she'd have to wait either.

"Camila." Ivan reached out, holding Camila's hand in comfort, "No matter how many years, I believe Billy will never let you down."

Camila looked at him, receiving the care in his eyes, her heart warmed to the extreme, gently nodding.

Clear love will change over time, either deepening or fading.

Camila promised to wait for Billy, but she didn't know if her feelings would fade.

She thought three years would be enough, because Billy would turn eighteen and leave the base, but she didn't expect to wait eight years.

Eight years later.

The early autumn morning carried a slight mist, a bit of coolness, unlike the summer, where the sun would bring heat waves once it rose.

South Hill District's Waterfront New Village was still quiet, occasionally some elderly strolled along the shaded paths, all silently exercising in the still morning.

In Ruiz Family's house, only Rachel was busy in the kitchen with breakfast for the family.

Though years are ruthless, they've been kind to Rachel, who at fifty still looked thirty-eight or thirty-nine, showing no signs of aging.

The family's nanny had changed roles, responsible only for cleaning and tending to the courtyard's plants, cooking was still Rachel's own duty. After a while, finishing breakfast, Rachel unclipped the apron from her chest and left the kitchen.

Charles Colson, neatly dressed in a black suit, black leather shoes, descended the stairs.

At twenty-six, Charles was noticeably taller than eight years before, reaching 175 centimeters, becoming quite the tall figure. His solid build was the result of years of exercise. His features were no longer boyish, matured and poised, with a hint of coldness, handsome yet paired with a cool personality, attracting attention and admiration from some women, his once gentle and simple eyes now sharp as blades, his gaze felt like a cut.

After graduating university, he didn't pursue further studies, even though Hansen Ruiz supported him, he was eager to repay kindness and grow strong, now General Manager of a Valence Group subsidiary, considered somewhat accomplished.

Over these eight years, Joseph Colson hadn't stopped troubling him, always scheming and sabotaging. When he first graduated, he didn't join Valence Group immediately, working in other companies, but Joseph's interference led to several job losses. In his desperation, Camila helped him enter Valence Group, its vastness preventing Joseph from easy meddling.

Thus, his modest success today.

Thinking of Camila, Charles' gaze returned to its gentle state from eight years ago, and his solid heart softened.

"Charles, you're up." Rachel smiled warmly, calling out as she saw him descend.

Charles' tense face relaxed noticeably, offering a soft smile in greeting, "Aunt Rachel."

"Hmm, what time is it now?" Rachel asked, glancing at the clock.

"Almost seven."

"Why hasn't that girl Camila appeared? Soon she'll have no time for breakfast. Charles, go wake her, if you don't, she'll surely sleep till seven-fifty," Rachel said a bit helplessly to Charles.
