Chapter 832 829: Time Flies (3)

The reality she should have realized long ago is right in front of her. Even if it hurts and hits hard, she must stand firm.

From this day on, Florence Ford seemed to mature instantly.

While she was still considerate of and protective toward Jimmy Horne, she buried her love for him deep inside. She was no longer as haughty as when she first arrived. She was lukewarm toward Camila Ruiz, unable to pretend she was close to her anymore. But she also couldn't bring herself to hate Camila, because Camila was the one whom the young master loved.

Though young love is often unreliable, when met with someone persistent, that love can become unforgettable.

Such was Florence Ford's love for Jimmy Horne.

For anyone Jimmy Horne cared about, she would generously and tolerantly learn to embrace them, even though her heart ached.

Camila Ruiz noticed Florence Ford's change. She found an opportunity to have a long talk with Florence. After their conversation, Florence felt relieved and saw the relationship clearly, trusting Camila with her beloved young master.

Time is cruel.

Soon, the summer vacation was over.

Despite Jimmy Horne's reluctance, he had to send the two girls away from the base.

At the moment of departure, Jimmy conveyed two words to Camila Ruiz with his eyes: "Wait for me!"

Camila Ruiz blushed and nodded vigorously when no one was looking.

Jimmy Horne said to Florence Ford, "You have good potential; you're a good girl."

Florence Ford felt a complex mix of emotions.

She didn't say much, casually telling Jimmy to take care, and that they would meet again at the Crimson Door.

It was Oscar Evans who piloted the private plane that took the two girls away from the base.

Camila Ruiz returned to the Ruiz Family, while Florence Ford went straight back to her school.

After Camila returned, aside from her two younger brothers asking her what had happened and whom she had met in the past two months, Hansen Ruiz and Rachel Bailey didn't ask a word. It must be said they were very open-minded parents, giving their children enough personal space.

Charles Colson followed the two little young masters back from A City. Hansen Ruiz didn't want to cause trouble; even though he wasn't afraid of the Colson Family, he didn't want to offend them lightly. He wanted to send Charles away, but the two young masters wouldn't agree. Rachel Bailey felt sorry for Charles's situation and pleaded with Hansen not to put him in a desperate situation, since now only the Ruiz Family dared to take him in.

His beloved wife's and cherished children's request left Hansen Ruiz no choice but to let Charles stay at the Ruiz Family.

Charles Colson had just graduated from high school and was accepted into a prestigious university; he had already received his admission letter. After his family upheaval, he had nothing and was living at the Ruiz Family. His identity made him feel awkward; although the young masters treated him like an elder brother, and Rachel Bailey gave him some pocket money, he had given up on continuing his studies, not daring to ask Hansen to support his education.

The first time Charles saw Camila Ruiz was the day she returned from the base. He hid in his guest room with his admission letter, silently crying, and was about to tear it up when Camila walked in and stopped him.

Having just returned home, Camila heard her brothers say they had picked up a brother. Pulled along by them to meet their new brother, she didn't expect to see such a scene. She immediately snatched the admission letter from Charles to prevent him from tearing it up. When Charles turned his head to look up, he was met by a pair of bright, clear eyes that deeply pierced his heart.

"Brother Charles, right? This is your university admission letter. Why were you about to tear it up?" Camila glanced at the letter and raised an eyebrow.

Charles quickly stood up, wiped away his tears, turned his red eyes away, and didn't answer.

"Brother Charles, what's wrong?" Christopher Ruiz asked with concern, pulling at Charles's sleeve.

After spending two months together, the two kids had developed feelings for Charles. Even though Charles treated them as benefactors, complying with their every request, they liked Charles not because of this, but because of his kind heart and the evident cultivation in his interactions with others, showing his good character. People who could gain the admiration of these two little troublemakers couldn't be bad.

Camila Ruiz carefully observed this brother they had picked up. Her brothers had already eagerly told her about Charles's background and circumstances, stirring her sympathy for him. Charles wasn't particularly tall for his eighteen years, standing at just 168 cm, which was average. His parents probably weren't tall either; Joseph Colson was twenty-six and only 170 cm. His features were regular, with a certain refined appearance. Coming from the Colson Family, he still held a noble elegance.

At this moment, the silent Charles gave her a feeling of distant aloofness that kept others at bay.

"Brother Charles, my sister is back. This is my sister. If you have any concerns, speak up. My sister will definitely help you. You don't know, my dad doted on my sister the most. As soon as she speaks, he agrees to whatever conditions. Alas, our family favors girls over boys. If my brother and I speak, dad just thinks we're talking nonsense, complaining we smell bad," Barnes Ruiz said aside.

This kid had a sharp tongue and was shamelessly blunt. Even while comforting someone, he couldn't resist taking a jab, and at his own father no less.

"Barnes, be careful mom doesn't pinch your lips," Camila chuckled as she glanced at her little brother.

She looked at Charles, who happened to be looking at her too. After exchanging glances, she gently smiled and said, "I know what you're thinking. I'll go downstairs and talk to dad now. You prepare yourself. I'll ensure you complete your studies." A prestigious university admission letter; she might not even pass its entrance exam. Since Brother Charles got in, it would be a shame not to attend.

Charles's urge to tear up the admission letter likely stemmed from feeling awkward about requesting the Ruiz Family to fund his university education.

"Ah..." Charles wanted to call out to Camila, who had turned to leave, but Christopher chimed in, "Brother Charles, my sister is called Camila, full name Camila Ruiz. We've told you before. Come on, let's go downstairs. Mom cooked a lot because my sister just returned. I really agree with Barnes; our family favors girls over boys. As soon as my sister is back, mom rushes to cook delicious dishes."

Christopher said this while pulling Charles downstairs alongside Barnes.

When the three of them reached the first floor, Hansen Ruiz and Camila Ruiz were sitting on the sofa, and it was unclear how the father-daughter discussion went.

When the three came downstairs, Hansen looked up at Charles and said gently, "Do as Camila says, all right? Getting into this university is no easy feat. Not attending would be such a waste. Focus on completing your education; leave everything else be. To stand strong and not be knocked down by anyone or anything, you must first become stronger yourself."
