Chapter 394: Affectionate (3)_1

He was still worried.

"In a few days, I'll talk to Adele. If she's willing, I'll let her return to the company with me. If she isn't, I won't force her. Let her have some quiet time for now. The blows of the past two days have been too much for her."

Glades Horne nodded.

"Do you want to go out for a walk?" Julia Bluen then asked, her face tilted up, her voice gentle. "You've been feeling pressured too. Let's go out for a walk, just to clear our minds."

"Okay," Glades Horne replied indulgently.

The two got up from the sofa, but he asked Julia to wait for him downstairs while he went upstairs to get something.

Julia didn't know what he was going to fetch and waited where she was.

A moment later, he came down from upstairs holding a beige coat with a soft, furry collar and a scarf.

"The wind is strong at night, and the dew is heavy. The temperature is several degrees lower than during the day," Glades Horne muttered, sounding like a fussy mother. "Wear this extra coat and scarf; it'll keep you from getting cold." He approached Julia to help her put on the coat and was about to wrap the scarf around her when she stopped him.

"This collar is so warm and soft with all this fur; my neck isn't cold at all. There's no need for a scarf." While touched by his meticulous care, Julia also felt a bit helpless. He, it seemed, would bundle her up like a newborn if he could, probably preferring she went out wrapped in a quilt and carrying a heater on her back for their walk. Thinking of the image of going out wrapped in a quilt with a heater on her back made Julia burst into laughter.

A slender finger lightly tapped her forehead, and then its owner embraced her shoulders. Glades Horne laughed. "You silly girl, always letting your mind wander. Are you thinking about going out with a heater on your back?"

He always knew her thoughts so well. In the past, she'd felt exposed before him, a little frustrated that she couldn't hide any of her thoughts, as if she had no privacy. Now, however, she saw it as the profound connection between a husband and wife. Previously, she often couldn't understand his thoughts. But ever since falling in love with him and investing her emotions, she could read him much better. Although she couldn't see through him as thoroughly as he could her, it was still a significant improvement.

"If you're willing to carry it for me, I wouldn't mind having it on my back," Julia giggled.

Knowing how tender-hearted he was towards her, he would definitely not let her go out with a heater on her back; it would be too tiring. Instead, he would hold her tightly, shield her from the wind, and warm her with his own body.

"You really have me wrapped around your finger, don't you?"

"You don't have to let me. I bet there are plenty of guys out there who would be willing to let me have my way. Just think about it: I'm as beautiful as a flower, a peerless beauty, young, and generous... Oh! Don't do that, we're outside! Haha, I'm just joking. Can't I indulge in a little vanity?"

A soft sound escaped Glades Horne's lips at Julia Bluen's gentle, mirthful words. He then spoke dominantly, "With me here, if anyone dares to give my wife a second glance, I'll gouge out his eyeballs and feed them to the fish."

"You have a trade fair to attend tomorrow, don't you?" Glades Horne changed the subject.

"Yes, I'm going with Vice President Li. Don't worry about it," Julia said quickly, thinking he would be concerned.

The evening breeze blew coldly.

"Mhm."

Glades Horne murmured in a low voice and then pursed his lips. He simply held her hand tightly, walking with her slowly.

Julia always disliked silence when they were together; she could always find various topics to discuss with him.

Glades Horne wasn't talkative, but he generally responded when she spoke.

Hand in hand, they chatted about all sorts of things. Their interactions as a couple were harmonious. The tenderness and deep affection enveloping them painted the picture of a truly loving pair.

「The next day.」

Adele Horne stood in front of the villa in a well-fitting suit, waiting for her brother and sister-in-law to emerge.

Her lustrous hair was tied up. Although not in a bun, this style fully revealed her beautiful face, making it clear that she too was a stunning beauty; it was merely that her usually unpleasant temperament had concealed her natural charm.

An orange LV bag hung from her right arm. She wore black high heels—not excessively high—and her pretty face held a calm and uncharacteristically focused expression. Her entire demeanor exuded an astuteness that no one had ever seen from her before.

Her BMW was, as usual, parked behind her.
