Chapter 726: I’ll Revolt Against the World! Part V
Chapter 726: I’ll Revolt Against the World! Part V
“I’ll find the way to penetrate Pride, want to come with me?”
The question got Maysa lowering her head and shaking it.
“It’s up to you.”
Then, Laurent left. There were only two people in there without a word.
The old man looked at the small shaky girl whose hands were clenched so hard as if she had been enduring everything around her. Her eyes were red, and she acted like she was about to cry. Seeing that, Payu let out a long sigh.
“Are you sure, May?” He said softly and Maysa was startled. “Are you sure that you’ll leave it like this?”
Maysa pressed her lips hard and quickly turned the other way. Her breathing started to stutter. Tears were about to fall from her eyes.
“...I... I...” Her voice shook. “I don’t dare to face him anymore.”
Hearing that, Payu slowly closed his eyes before covering them with his hands wearily.
“Even though this could be the last time that you can talk to the man named Wisana?”
Those words got the girl standing still. Payu looked between his fingers and saw that Maysa’s face was clearly confused.
“The world’s changing, May. Think well about the path you’ll be walking on. I don’t want you to regret it.”

CRASH!!!
A loud crashing sound came with thick smoke that quickly dissolved. Wisana lay on the ground with a flaming magic spear on his chest. Crimson blood gushed out of his mouth. The pain that he had never felt before almost got him unconscious. He could barely breathe.
This was...
The pain that mom felt...
“D... Damn it... Get out...”
He tried to speak even with a lot of blood flowing out of his wound. Everything was so blurry now, but he still held firmly onto the spear and pulled it, even if it was severely painful!!
“AHHHHHHH~!”
That was Wisana’s loudest scream ever. He had never been in so much pain before.
“Damn it... I... I can’t get it out!”
He gritted his teeth. Even though he had tried so hard to face it, the difference between him and that monster was too much that he really could not take on. The full power Lucius was maybe equal to mom or even better!
“Compared to your mother, you don’t even have the guts to make me sweat.”
Lucius spoke with his gentle voice again before he landed on the ground. They looked each other in the eye.
“Now, will you get out of Pride, kid?”
Lucius’s voice did not show any emotion. Wisana laughed.
“You really think you can make me leave, huh?! This is nothing!”
Wisana could barely make out words because the breathing was getting harder and his consciousness was about to fade.
“You’re as stubborn as your father, Winter. He stupidly believed that the freaking organization was his family and obeyed them like a stupid lap dog. The world’s had enough of monsters like us. Destroying the Pride System won’t only erase the organization from history, but the world will also be restored to its balance. Why don’t you get it, kid? Do you like it that they make you a monster?”
“Y... You have no right to say that.” Wisana chuckled. “A bastard like you who can only think about that shit doesn’t have the right to call me a monster. I... I’m still a human being named Wisana!”
“A human being?” Lucius said with a high-pitched voice. “A human being? What Viola and Winter have done to you was even worse than what I’m doing, boy. You’ve never had the right to call yourself a human being ever since before you were born. And you still dare to do that. You still dare to call them a family!?”
Wisana was speechless. In fact, he did not have the strength to talk back anymore.
“Stand up and see the world with your own eyes, Vincent. A big movement’s about to happen to this world. You shouldn’t have been in Pride, but the outside world. What you should have protected is there, not here.” Lucius clenched his fists and averted his eyes. “The existence of the Pride System is too dangerous. With it, more monsters like me and you will continue to be produced. I’ve had enough!”
“And because of this, you’re running away, Lucius?”
Wisana interrupted with the gentlest and the most composed tone of voice that Lucius had ever heard. The red eyes halted before they moved to look at the weary boy on the ground. The pain had eased up now. His chest was numb. Even though his breathing was mild, his amber eyes still glowed fiercely as a signal that he had not given up!
“What do you mean, kid?” Lucius said with a firm voice.
“Because you can’t resist it, so you curse it. Because you can’t take the pain anymore, so you just die. You’re just a loser. You don’t have the right to tell me what to do and where I should be. Moreover, a coward like you also has no right to accuse my parents. At least they did it for reasons. They atoned for their sins with their lives. And that’s why I exist!”
Lucius went quiet for a while. His ruby-red eyes stared at the man before him as if he could read minds. He shook his head lightly and laughed out loud. Wisana gritted his teeth!
“You don’t know anything, kid. They’ve done so much to you and you’re still calling them a family. You’re so optimistic I want to puke!”
Then, he flicked his hand hard and called up a shining red magic sword on his right hand. Without hesitation, he raised it up against Wisana’s neck.
“This is the last time, Vincent. Leave the Key of Forbidden with us and get out of here.”
Hearing that, Wisana scoffed. His face was straight, even though death was calling for him!
“You’re walking on the wrong path, Lucius. Your method is no different than the organization’s. Do you really think destroying the Pride System will end everything? Of course, they’ll surely find a way to retrieve it whatever it takes. And what will the world become, huh? Think about it, prick!” Wisana scolded him.
“It’s better than letting it be twisted even more,” Lucius said.
“The world will be even more twisted when every technology stops developing.”
“But it’ll come back very soon. Monsters like us will be demolished along with the system and will never appear in the world’s history again.”
“You’re sacrificing over ten thousand people with your own hands, Lucius.”
“It’s all worth it if it’s for another billion.”
“And what about your people? The history that human beings have been building will be gone. You don’t feel anything about that, bastard?!”
“I’ve cut that useless emotion off of me a long time ago, kid. I’ve lived for too long. Everything should be over already. The only thing you should protect isn’t the past, but the future where your next generations grow up naturally!”
“Lucius, you’re too narrow. Missing out only a little would mean disaster for humanity. Think about it, what you’re doing isn’t for the future as you say. You’re just running away from your destiny. You just want to get it over with. I don’t know what your father, Eric Frazier, has done, but nothing in this world can’t be fixed. There’re so many ways to do it instead of just destroying everything.”
“There’s no way, kid.” Lucius shook his head. “What’s happened is beyond redemption. The world’s too twisted. If we leave it as it is, everything will fall.”
“Then, why do you want humanity to lose?” Wisana pressed his lips because of the pain. “I don’t want to lose any more lives. I can feel that the world’s crying. There should be a way without any sacrifice!”
“No way. There’s no way of fixing it now...”
“Of course, there is a way!” Wisana shouted. “I’ll change this world myself!”
Lucius halted. He stared at the boy. The amber eyes shone again. They were full of hope.
A bright smile appeared on his face. It was a kind of smile that even Lucius was surprised to see.
This boy... He could still smile at times like these...
“I’ll revolt against the world.”
