Chapter 719: Wisana’s Decision (2) Part VI

Chapter 719: Wisana’s Decision (2) Part VI

“Mr. Sander! I’ve told you so many times that there’re two girls in the house. Please dress nicely and act your age!”

Rattana screeched, startling Wisana.

“What the heck, Anne? This is my place. I can dress however I want. You guys are guests. This is very kind of me to give you my permission to use this place.”

Sander said with a straight face while opening the can and drinking it bottoms up. Wisana blinked. June stared at the man.

“Wow, the real six packs. This is the first time I see them with my own eyes.” She cheekily tapped her cheek.

“June, keep it down! And please, who in this world would wake up at six in the evening and drink so much as soon as they open their eyes like this? Please live your life like a normal person! Are you even listening to me, Mr. Sander?!”

“I know... This is my style.”

He scratched his stomach. Wisana could only smile awkwardly.

This was Sander. He had always been like this in or outside of Pride. He used every part of his life to the fullest!

The middle-aged man glanced at Wisana. Seeing how confused his student was, he sighed softly and put his hand on Wisana’s head.

“It’s been only three days and you’ve gotten so thin. You must have been starving yourself.”

Wisana halted. Sander smiled.

“Oh well, I wouldn’t be able to eat anything either. Their food tastes like dog food.”

“Does that mean you know what dog food tastes like?”

Thada interrupted at the right time. The older man threw an empty can at him. Of course, Thada could dodge it so easily with his sharp instinct. The man clicked his tongue.

“How are you? Doing well?”

Sander asked with a smile. He sounded like a kind uncle who was asking his beloved grandson how he was.

“Mhmm... I’m well.”

“That’s good.” Sander beamed at him. “You’ve learned everything?”

“...Yes.” Wisana nodded.

“Then, I’m not going to talk much. You have to decide everything yourself.”

Even though it sounded so gentle, it was so powerful that everyone went quiet. Wisana raised his head up to look at the man in front of him.

“And this.”

Then, Sander took something out. It was a familiar black cell phone.

It was his mom’s cell phone! There was a small family photo sticker at the back.

“It’s the last thing that Viola wants me to give to you.”

Wisana did not say anything and took it from Sander. The older man gave everyone a signal. Thada was the first one to stand up.

“Use it well. Don’t rush it, boy. We’ll wait inside my office there.”

He pointed behind him. There was a room with an ‘Office’ sign. The rest of them followed Sander in there when Rattana screeched so loudly.

“What is this dumpster, Mr. Sander!? Why don’t you live like a normal person for once?!”

“Be quiet, Anne. If you’re so annoyed, then clean it!”

Everything went quiet once the door was closed...

There was only Wisana in the living room, staring at the phone in his hand. His rough hand slowly touched the screen and number buttons appeared to ask for the password.

He pressed the numbers right away.

He did not know if it was right, but his brain told him to do it. It turned out that it was the one. The home screen popped up.

The wallpaper was simple white. There was only a “VDO” file on it.

Wisana decided to click on it until he found a lone file named ‘To my beloved son’.

“Ah... Hello, hello? Is it on? Are you recording, Alice? ...Oh, it is? Shit, I haven’t put my makeup on. Huh? We should do it now? Okay, fine.”

The first image that he saw was his confused mom who was having a hard time with the technology. She seemed to be so anxious about her look that she actually constantly put the powder on while she was talking and Wisana could not help but laugh.

“Ah... Where should I start? Well, hello, Na.” Wimon seemed shy. “If you’re watching this, then I’ve probably lost to Lucius and become a Core of Pride. Then, let’s see...”

She took a deep breath.

“Don’t cry whatsoever, silly boy. Don’t be sad and don’t blame yourself, understand? If you’re doing any one of them, I’ll get you.”

Wisana could only shake his head and chuckle.

“How can you do that now, lady?” He smiled.

“Okay, good. Keep smiling like that and I’m relieved.” She talked as if they were actually talking face to face. Even Wisana thought that it was real at times.

“Next, I have to apologize.” She scratched her head awkwardly. “Be it your origin, the organization, or your power, everything that I’ve hidden from you, I’m so sorry. I know that you’d be devastated when you learn about it. I want you to know that I feel the same. Sometimes it may seem like selfishness, but it’s true that there hasn’t been a single day that I don’t regret what I’ve done to you.”

Viola looked down and lowered her head. Wisana sighed.

“You’ve apologized enough, mom. I told you, right, that I don’t care? You’re my mom and that’s enough. No matter what happens, we’re family, mom.”

Even though Wisana knew that his mom was only a recording, he still tried to soothe her.

“Huh? What? You’re not angry at me? I just knew that you’d understand. That’s why we’re mother and son.”

Wimon suddenly smiled again. Wisana covered his mouth and laughed softly.

“I just knew you were going to say this.” He smiled.

“Then, what I’m about to explain to you is about your power.” Viola switched to her serious mode. “You should have learned a few things from the organization already. I want you to know that they spoke the truth. If your power is completely connected to the Pride System, you’ll become the one who controls the world’s fate.”

Hearing that, Wisana narrowed his eyes.

“Listen to me, not them, even though they’re right.” Viola pressed her lips. “From now on, you have to look at this world with your own eyes and decide everything yourself. Don’t let their speech chain you. Remember this, Wisana, that they didn’t create you. It was me and your dad who created you.”

“...Huh?”

Wisana parted his lips.

“It’s true that those people want to create the king to control the Pride System. They could have recruited any girl for a vessel, but I volunteered. I didn’t want anyone to be involved in this cruel fate. Being a vessel for the king isn’t easy and isn’t for just anyone. That’s why I did it. I know that my son would be able to fight it proudly and with pride.”

Wisana smiled a little. Yet, he did not understand what his mom was saying.

“You have three paths, Wisana.” Viola raised her three fingers. “The first path is to go back to the organization and do what they want you to do. I do believe that what they’ve done isn’t entirely bad, even though Payu’s created an extreme idealistic world and changed everything too hastily. It may seem dark, but the organization is still there with determined people. If you want to go back, that’s one way to do it.”
