Chapter 720: Wisana’s Decision (2) Part VII
Chapter 720: Wisana’s Decision (2) Part VII
“The first path is to go back to the organization and do what they want you to do. I do believe that what they’ve done isn’t entirely bad, even though Payu’s created an extreme idealistic world and changed everything too hastily. It may seem dark, but the organization is still there with determined people. If you want to go back, that’s one way to do it.”
She put one finger down.
“The second path is to cut yourself out of the organization and walk your own path. You have to fight your destiny and refuse to connect to the Pride System. There’s so much more to it that hasn’t been fixed yet. I do think that it’s too soon to link you to the system now and you wouldn’t be able to turn back once it’s been done. There’s still a great danger in Pride, Wisana. Not only Lucius but also another one that you have to be careful of. His name’s Eric Frazier.”
“...Eric Frazier?”
Wisana repeated the name, confused.
The name was familiar to him as if he had heard of it before.
“Eirc Frazier, the E in PRIDE. He was one of the Pride’s creators. He was the one who gathered the first generation of Signeraters, the natural ones, to experiment on them.”
Yes...
This man. Even though he had not met him before, he learned about him from Payu. If he recalled correctly, he was a shareholder and a close friend who helped create the Pride world.
“Sander and I, including Lucius and his people, we’re all adopted from around the world to be the first Signeraters. You can say that he took us in as his adopted children.”
“Adopted children!?”
Wisana almost choked on his own saliva with this new information. Then, this Eric was his so-called grandfather. What was more surprising was that Mr. Sander and Lucius were like brothers?!
Why was mom trying to warn him about this man, even though he was like her father?
“He was the one who broke Alice into two.” Viola continued. Wisana narrowed his eyes. “About Ran, er... I mean Sander. He’ll tell you himself. A part of Alice that Frazier stole can grant him the power to control Pride. That’s what the organization is feared of.”
“He can control Pride...?”
Alice had told him before that she also had the duty to take care of the Pride System. Then, it was not so surprising that the controlling part that was stolen would be able to control the whole thing...
“Frazier loathes this world, Wisana. His hatred is so much that he can even destroy the entire world with it. The organization’s been keeping watch on him ever since after he stole a part of Alice. We’re lucky that he’s been in hiding and never showed up again anymore since then.” Viola lowered her face down and continued. “Maybe it’s because of this that Lucius and his people appeared and tried to destroy Pride. With that, the Pride System will be destroyed along with it and that’s why they’re making stupid moves...”
That was the reason why they wanted to destroy Pride, even though they had to sacrifice themselves as Cores. Lucius and his people were trying to fix what their father had done wrong to this world.
“We can’t let Pride be destroyed, my dear. Pride is like the heart of this world. If it’s gone, the world would definitely be in turmoil. What the organization has been controlling would vanish. Riots will be endless. Most importantly, Pride is a huge database of the organization. If it’s gone, the world will halt. Developments will be slowed down and cause so much argument. The Cores from around the world, including the experimental Signeraters who sacrificed themselves to be Cores will die.”
Wisana closed his eyes. He could almost see the picture in his head.
Yes. If the technology that had been used for a long time suddenly disappeared...
It was no different from suddenly having to live in the dark after a long use of electricity. Fear would creep in. And when people feared, they were willing to do anything, including war...
“That’s why I want you to take over this for me. No matter what Frazier’s after, please destroy his madness. The second choice is to follow your heart and fight everything around you for what you think is right. You’ll destroy the dark influence, be it of the organization or Frazier, and create a new path for this world. You’ll lead this world the way you want. I believe that you can bring the best out of it, even though this is a crazy world we’re living in.”
The last sentence got Wisana laughing out loud. He thought that it was just like his mom to be able to make jokes about it in this kind of situation.
Following my heart and fighting the darkness of this world alongside mom’s warriors?
Wisana suddenly thought of those people who helped him out of the Pride headquarters and the people in the office next to him right now: Thada, Rattana, June, and Sander. That was why mom had gathered the best of the best to support him. The second path seemed to be a lot harder than the first one.
Leaving the organization and fighting for what was right, even though he had to be the enemy of this whole world. He let out a long sigh when he thought about it.
Payu’s madness towards the world’s development and Frazier’s hatred towards this world...
Both of them were the worst enemies.
They were Pride’s creators!!
“And the last choice.” Viola continued with a softer tone. “Leave everything behind and run away from your destiny.”
Wisana halted. It was something that he did not think he would hear from his mom.
“In case you don’t want to accept your fate and only want to be a normal human being. If you choose this path, vanish from this world. Sander and his men will follow you until your brain becomes too withered to connect to the Pride System. It’ll take time, but you’ll live happily, even though with a difficult and discreet life.
Find a good girl to marry and build a happy family without having to worry about money, Wisana. I won’t let you suffer. What I’ve saved up for you is enough to spend on the whole world. Please accept it as my apology, even though it can’t be compared with what I’ve done to you.”
Viola said with a smile. She looked dreamy.
It was as if she wished that he would choose this path. Wisana smiled back.
“Heck, this is so her.” He shook his head. “I thank you for the good wishes, but...”
“You can cut this choice out.”
Viola said and Wisana halted. Then, he laughed.
She read him like a book, as expected of his mom.
“I knew that you’d say that because...”
“We’re mother and son.”
Wisana harmonized with his mom. Both of them laughed.
“Then, there’re only two options for you to choose.” Viola continued. “You want to go back to work for the organization or you want to come out and fight your own fate. You must think carefully about it and decide for yourself. Listen to everyone’s story and look at the world with your own eyes, Wisana. Remember this, I raised you not to be the king like the others want. I raised you to be a proud warrior who dares to fight and create your own destiny. But I don’t have to worry, right? I’ve watched you as you grew up. I know that you’re the strongest one. You’ll get through it gracefully. I’m confident that you’ll be able to find the right in the wrongs.”
