Chapter 687: Viola (1) Part VI

Chapter 687: Viola (1) Part VI

“How are you feeling about the pain that you haven’t been tasting for some time, Lucius?”

Viola grinned. She pointed the sword at where his injury was. Lucius smirked while a big drop of sweat ran down his cheek.

“It’s satisfying. It reminds me of old times, don’t you think, Viola?” Lucius said. “But you know full well, right, that this doesn’t end it, my friend?”

Then, the injury glowed so brightly that Viola had to narrow her eyes. At that moment, Lucius’s arm was back to normal as if nothing had happened to it before.

“Of course, I do.” She tilted her head. “A disgusting cockroach like you that I’ve been trying to crush for a long time. Why wouldn’t I know how hard it is to do that.”

Lucius grinned.

“You look fine, Viola. After twenty years, it seems you’ve changed a lot.”

“Unlike you, Lucius, you’re completely the same, especially that disgusting mouth of yours.”

Lucius laughed and pointed at Viola.

“Is that a part of Alice with you?”

“...Yes.”

He laughed softly.

“You went so far to get out of your father’s grip, but in the end, you still need to depend on a weak ex-daughter-in-law? I think it’s better for you to go back to Payu or erase yourself from the game. Let me guess, a part of Alice sees some hope in you? No, maybe in your son?”

Viola halted for a short while. Her lips were pressed in a straight line.

“In the end, what I’ve destroyed did not help bring this world up. The disgusting Project King of the company that you hate, you ended up using your own body for the experiment to create a little demon to conquer this world. Huh! This is depressing.”

“Isn’t it a little too cruel to call it a demon?” Viola grinned. “Let me tell you this, Lucius, I gave into that Project King not for creating a demon for the organization to use. What I created was the future. Children with my blood will inherit the rightful will of the rightful king, not those freaking pricks like Frazier or that hell of a father of you and me!”

Lucius sighed softly.

“The future?” Lucius repeated. “You romanticize it, Viola. Only our existence got this world twisted far enough, but they still want to make it worse. Hope? Purpose? Those are total bullshit. This world has already been in despair, Viola. As long as this rotten Pride still stands, this world is as good as dead.”

Viola chuckled. Her smile was so cute as if the man just said something really funny.

“I can’t believe that comes from you, Lucius. As good as dead? The rotten Pride?”

She shook her head and massaged her temples.

“How could you even bring yourself to say that, you piece of shit!”

Viola screeched. Her amber eyes shone angrily like never before.

“Isn’t it you who caused all this? You killed him. You and that prick Frazier were the ones responsible for everything. And now you’ll just play it easy and carelessly destroy Pride. Don’t you think it’s too easy, Lucius?!!”

“....”

The man did not reply. The red eyes stared at the trembling woman in front of him. They locked eyes for a moment before Lucius looked away.

“I don’t care what you think. I’m still holding on to my principles. This world is too twisted, Viola. No matter how, I’ll move everything back to where it belongs.”

“Where it belongs?” Viola repeated. “What’s that, exactly? The world without Signeraters, the world without Pride, or the world that you and I will live in happily ever after, huh?!”

“The world that no one draws a line for anyone. The world with freedom and understanding.”

Viola laughed like a madman at that. The amber eyes were as angry as her smirking lips that clearly showed disgust.

“You’re mad, Lucius. No, you’re a coward.” She grinned. “Because of this, I chose him. Because of this, I hate you. While he was rebelling, you chose to listen to your stupid father. You say you’re doing it for this world, but you’re actually running away from the truth. You’re not doing it for your father, you’re doing it because I love him. I love Winter. You’re just trying to erase the guilt you’ve done. I’m sorry, but it’s too late, you piece of shit...”

Viola tightened the grip on her sword before disappearing.

In the blink of an eye, the small woman reappeared again beside the man. The red eyes were opened widely.

“From that day until now, I’ve been forcing myself to log in to hunt you down. It’s over now. Today, I’ll kill you!”

Viola swung her sword at him in close range. Lucius, who tried to defend himself with a spell, was forcefully pushed back!

“...Shit! The spell didn’t work?!”

Lucius gritted his teeth and looked up at Viola before shooting the beams at her.

Seeing that, her amber eyes were opened widely. She stood still. Then, she raised her Claymore up and brushed the beams off so easily. The attacker could only click his tongue!

The next moment, Viola approached him again.

She slashed the sword up from below. Lucius could barely dodge it. The slashing created a deep terrifying rift on the ground. Seeing that, Lucius quickly flew up, hoping to regain his footing.

As soon as he did that, Viola flicked her eight swords behind her. They formed wings and brought her up so fast.

“You’re as hot-tempered as ever, Viola.”

Lucius said smoothly before pointing at the woman.

“You don’t have to rush it this much. We’ve never seen each other for twenty years anyway.”

Then, Lucius shot a big beam from his palm before it split into smaller ones and dashed at Viola. It was almost impossible for her to evade.

Even so, the amber eyes did not flinch. Hundreds of weapons were floating around her. They moved freely and altogether, they brushed the beams off very easily.

“This isn’t funny. Even Lavi’s weapons broke to pieces.”

Lucius murmured in awe. He put even more power into his attacks than when he was fighting Lavi. He could get rid of all the floating weapons so easily at the time. Yet, Viola brushed his beams off with no sweat at all!

“You’re underestimating me so much by comparing me to those chicks, Lucius.”

Then, the floating weapons dashed at Lucius!

The spears, scythes, knives, wedges, swords, and everything rushed at Lucius even faster than Lavi’s!

“...Tsk!”

Lucius could only scoff and calmly dodged them. It was true that they were fast, but they were not fast enough to do anything to him!

The man surprisingly evaded every move. It was clear that attacking him was not easy. The weapons that missed him disintegrated. At that moment, he pointed below, hoping to shoot more beams at Viola.

However...

She was gone again.

“I’ve told you a hundred times, Lucius. It’s true that your senses are sharper than anyone, but your weakness is that you can only focus on one thing and you’ll forget whatever else comes to you. Okay, there aren’t that many people who are fast enough to do this to you. But that doesn’t include me.”

“....”

Lucius could not speak. Viola’s sweet voice was behind him without him even realizing it. Be it the blind spots or the incredible speed, they were both so mesmerizing he opened his eyes widely.

Right now, Viola was behind him and plunging her sword into him and he did not even realize it. Moreover, thousands of weapons were floating behind her as if she was about to end this!

“And don’t worry, Lucius, I’m not as kind as Winter. As a Goddess of War, I’ll make you beg for your life!”
