Shin screamed at the top of his lungs. The ring on his ring finger glowed brightly. ‘The King’s Ring’ was activated again.

He panted even harder. He looked down at his sister.

He smiled and closed his eyes wearily.

The red-haired man was there close to him. Even though he looked worn out, and his face was covered with blood from the big injury on his head, he was smiling.

He squeezed Shin’s neck. The crusader let out a suffering groan for the first time. Being attacked at the heart was bad enough and now he had to catch his breath. His consciousness was about to be blacked out.

“I don’t think I have to explain how I survived your last attack,” Lucius said. “Because now, please allow me to erase you from Pride, kid.”

Then, he used his other hand to raise Shin’s broken arm up. He looked at the Longinus tattoo on Shin’s palm. He grinned.

“Attaching the weapon to the body? This is good. You’re defending it from the damage, I see.” He chuckled softly. “But it’s nothing to me, kid. This may sound harsh, but it can’t be helped. Allow me to take his arm of yours, hunter...”

He squeezed Shin’s broken arm so hard that Shin had to grit his teeth very tightly from the pain.

Lucius was about to pull Shin’s arm out when a cold metal touched his back. Lucius halted.

“Hey...”

A low voice of a woman got Lucius turning around so fast.

There, a woman with silver hair was behind him. Her amber eyes behind the mask stared at him. Her grin clearly showed disgust.

“...V... Viola?” Lucius murmured.

“What are you doing to my student, you lowlife?”

She did not hesitate to slash her Claymore at Lucius’s back. The crimson blood and massive damage were terrifying. Even so, Lucius did not let go of Shin’s neck. He swung his other hand at the lady.

Valentine screeched almost at the same time. Viola was nonchalant about it. She only had to look at him and he knew right away what he should be doing now.

“Before that brat arrives, keep your strength. I can’t do this just any time, you know? For you, the recovery can’t go beyond this anymore. You understand what I mean?”

Valentine halted. She had never seen her brother so obedient. He did not even listen to his own father and who the heck was this lady? She even attacked Lucius twice in a roll.
